LANDAU<\/a><\/strong>\uff1aIn his Remarks on the Ci Poetry\u2019s Wonderland, Wang Guowei described three states of life: struggling, maintaining and gaining. The same is true of the presentation of a good project. Located at the crossing of Conghang Street and Liyang Road, with Beijing-Hangzhou Canal on the west, the site is the last residential land nearby the canal, scarce and valuable.<\/p>\n

The interface between the quiet residential community and the busy city is a very important space which is four meters high to allow the access of the firefighting truck and keeps in harmony with the surroundings and the clubhouse behind. Here the gate is designed in the shape of a fan which unfolds slowly, and the wooden grilles just look like the ribs of the fan. The entrance opens directly to one of the eight scenes of the Grand Canal Mansion – \u201cHorses Drinking by the Stream\u201d. The walls and the building fa\u00e7ade are painted in the same white, while the top and the corrugated aluminum plates of the building are in dark color, keeping the whole space in a harmonious atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Just as Wang Guowei said in his Remarks on the Ci Poetry\u2019s Wonderland, \u201cJing-jie, the image world is not made up of merely outer scenes and objects, but also of happy, angry, gloomy or merry inner mind. Therefore, poems which can depict genuine scenes and sentiments, may be said to mirror it, otherwise they fail to do so.\u201d In the landscape design for the Grand Canal Mansion, the designer has paid attention to every detail, using rhythmic gratings, bamboos and hard-edged shadows to show different sentiments.<\/p>\n

According to the overall plan, the villas are built in the center of the community, around which are highrises. Two cross streets running from north to south, connect all the buildings and landscapes together. With streets and lanes, courtyards and parks, hills and woods, it has integrated traditional beauty into modern lifestyle, creating an ideal living environment with well-organized spaces, multiple functions and poetic atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Traditional gardening elements such as frames, mirrors, holes and screens are employed together with modern skills to describe the traditional life along streets and alleys in Jiangnan Region. In addition, the designer has also reproduced rain alley, Ma Tau Wall, flagging, sail, lantern, calligraphy, bollard, port, stone bridge, bamboo forest, etc., allowing people to have an experience of traditional Jiangnan lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Along the road paved with slabs and stones, there is a level bridge and overhanging eaves, which enable you to forget the hustle and bustle, present the oriental beauty and remind you of the nature of life.<\/p>\n

The water yard is actually a large light-flooded atrium. Having communicated with the architects, the landscape designer put the scattered small light wells under the mirror water, using waterproof glass and skylight to ensure the integrity of the water and the lighting effect of the basement floor. Following the simple and elegant architectural style, the walls are designed with square openings, which reflect on the mirror water to create a royal and elegant atmosphere.<\/p>\n
