Sikora Wells Appel<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aThe 320-bed, LEED Gold Capital Health Medical Center is nestled is 166 acre site surrounded by woodlands, wetlands and drainage ways. Envisioned as a holistic healing environment, the grounds incorporated a number of outdoor spaces including three roof gardens: two extensive roofs for viewing and a therapeutic roof garden which will provide both viewing interest and allow patients, visitors and staff with the opportunity to rejuvenate in a garden setting.<\/p>\n

The overall site has been developed to promote good land stewardship through the use of state-of-the-art land and storm water management practices. The site, with the exception of the more formally executed garden areas adjacent to the hospital, is designed to be seen as an extension of the existing natural landscape. Large expanses of open land are planted and maintained as native meadow. Storm water will be channeled thru created bio-swales and wetlands designed to simulate natural features and provide critical bio-habitat and engineered to maximize percolation\/management of on-site run-off. Rain water collected from the roof is stored underground in four 10,000 gallons cisterns and reused for irrigation.<\/p>\n

\n\u4f1a\u8bae\u5ead\u9662\uff1a\u4e00\u4e2a\u7528\u9752\u77f3\u94fa\u5c31\u7684\u534a\u5899\u906e\u9634\u7684\u201c\u7a81\u7834\u201d\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u7528\u4e8e\u793e\u4ea4\/\u653e\u677e\u548c\u4eab\u53d7\u5468\u56f4\u55b7\u6cc9\u5899\u7684\u58f0\u97f3\u3002
\n\u7d27\u6025\u901a\u9053\u82b1\u56ed\uff1a\u9760\u8fd1\u6025\u8bca\u5ba4\u7684\u9634\u51c9\u6237\u5916\u7b49\u5019\u533a\u3002
\n\u75c5\u4eba\u51fa\u9662\u82b1\u56ed\uff1a\u4e00\u4e2a\u692d\u5706\u5f62\u7684\u5ba4\u5916\u7b49\u5019\u5ba4\u548c\u4e00\u4e2a\u5750\u843d\u5728\u559c\u836b\u690d\u7269\u548c\u76db\u5f00\u7684\u7389\u5170\u6811\u4e4b\u95f4\u7684\u6c89\u601d\u82b1\u56ed\u3002
\n\u4e8c\u5c42\u5c4b\u9876\u82b1\u56ed\uff1a\u4e00\u4e2a\u53ef\u4ece\u764c\u75c7\u6cbb\u7597\u5ba4\u548cMOB\u8fdb\u5165\u7684\u666f\u89c2\u7597\u517b\u82b1\u56ed\uff0c\u5176\u4fbf\u5229\u8bbe\u65bd\u5305\u62ec\u5e26\u5ea7\u4f4d\u7684\u906e\u9633\u51c9\u4ead\uff0c\u5e26\u5ea7\u4f4d\u7684\u6728\u5e73\u53f0\uff0c\u548c\u89c2\u8d4f\u690d\u7269\u3002<\/p>\n

The site immediately surrounding the hospital is more \u2018gardenesque\u2019 in design and includes a series of garden rooms connected by a continuous pathway. These outdoor spaces provide not only the opportunity for passive rest, relaxation, and reflection but, depending on their location, function as play area, dining space, informal gathering\/meeting room, waiting room and, inherent to all, gardens that promote and inspire healing.<\/p>\n

The specific gardens include the following:<\/p>\n

The Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s Garden; a fanciful walled garden with chalk-wall, curvy pavement designs and colorful evening lighting.
\nThe Caf\u00e9 Garden; an outdoor dining space with splashing fountain, bluestone paving and fragrant rose hedge.
\nThe Cancer Treatment Garden; a contemplation garden with arbor, water runnel and colorful garden plantings.
\nThe Board Room Gardens; outdoor rooms for informal meetings and socializing Amenities include lighted arbors, decorative bollard lighting and fragrant rose hedging.
\nThe Conference Courtyard; a semi-walled, shaded \u2018break-out\u2019 space paved in bluestone for socializing\/relaxing and enjoying the sounds from the surrounding fountain wall.
\nThe Emergency Walk-In Garden; a shaded outdoor waiting area adjacent to the emergency room.
\nThe Patient Discharge Garden; an oval-shaped outdoor waiting room and contemplative garden set amongst shade loving plants and flowering magnolia trees.
\nThe Second Story Roof Garden; a landscaped healing garden accessible from the cancer treatment rooms and the MOB. Amenities include shade arbor with seating, wood deck with seating, and ornamental plantings.<\/p>\n
