Guillermo Tirado Architects<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aWith a construction of 191.10 m2, the pavilion is located in a strategic area adjacent to the house. Purposefully located to provide direct access to the outside of the property without jeopardizing its proximity with the existing residence. The access corridor, the open terrace and the space of the Pavilion itself are split-level and erected half a level below the property\u2019s general access level to avoid competing or overshadowing the existing construction, yet achieving a new sense of coexistence and mutual acknowledgement.<\/p>\n

\u5b8c\u5168\u53ef\u6301\u7eed Completely Sustainable:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u5ba2\u6237\u7684\u7b2c\u4e00\u4e2a\u8981\u6c42\u662f\u5c3d\u91cf\u51cf\u5c11\u5bf9\u7eff\u5730\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u6211\u4eec\u5229\u7528\u4ee5\u524d\u8bbe\u6709\u7bee\u7403\u573a\u7684\u4e00\u4fa7\u533a\u57df\u8fdb\u884c\u4e86\u5e72\u9884\u6539\u9020\uff0c\u5927\u5927\u51cf\u5c11\u4e86\u5bf9\u5ead\u9662\u548c\u82b1\u56ed\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\u3002<\/p>\n

\u8bbe\u8ba1\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\u7684\u53e6\u4e00\u4e2a\u53ef\u6301\u7eed\u53d1\u5c55\u7b56\u7565\u662f\u201c\u63a9\u57cb\u201d\u5c55\u9986\uff0c\u901a\u8fc7\u4e0e\u571f\u5730\u7684\u63a5\u89e6\u6765\u8c03\u8282\u6e29\u5ea6\uff0c\u7528\u6700\u5c11\u7684\u80fd\u91cf\u5c06\u5c55\u9986\u5185\u90e8\u4fdd\u6301\u5728\u6700\u4f73\u72b6\u6001\u3002\u4e0e\u6b64\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u5b89\u88c5\u4e86\u51e0\u4e2a\u9ad8\u6548\u8282\u80fd\u8bbe\u5907(\u5395\u6240\u3001\u7a7a\u8c03\u3001led\u7167\u660e\u3001\u53cc\u5c42\u73bb\u7483\u805a\u6c2f\u4e59\u70ef\u5bc6\u5c01\u5c4f\u3001R20\u7cfb\u6570\u9694\u79bb\u6240\u6709\u73af\u5883)\uff0c\u5e76\u4f7f\u7528\u514d\u7ef4\u62a4\u6750\u6599\uff0c\u5982\u88f8\u9732\u7684\u6e05\u6c34\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\u548c\u82b1\u56ed\u9694\u79bb\u677f\u3002\u5c55\u9986\u5c4b\u9876\u4e0a\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u5728\u4f5c\u4e3a\u4e00\u4e2a\u6c89\u601d\u82b1\u56ed\u7684\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u5176\u73b0\u6709\u540e\u9662\u7684\u5ef6\u4f38\uff0c\u5982\u6b64\uff0c\u4e5f\u51cf\u5c11\u4e86\u5e72\u9884\u75d5\u8ff9\u3002<\/p>\n

The client\u2019s first request was minimum impact, regarding intervention, to the property\u2019s green areas. To this effect, we decided to use an area adjacent to the house that used to be a basketball court, therefore highly reducing impact to the courtyard and gardens.<\/p>\n

Nature plays a very important role in the pavilion\u2019s design. Since initiation of the project, the client expressed its desire to keep an oak tree located in the center of the selected area. Therefore, the challenge was to \u201cbuild\u201d around such tree, framing it from the outside and achieving visual contact from the inside. In order to keep this oak tree intact, a French drain was installed to safeguard the roots and maintain humidity, likewise we designed and fabricated a garden slab to wrap and protect the tree and conserve its ecosystem.<\/p>\n

The pavilion\u2019s orientation achieves the best use of sunlight. The walls with the greatest solar impact are blind walls and equipped with a high degree of isolation and in addition, the volume contained in the program is separated from the perimeter through the pavilion\u2019s access corridor and connection to the rest of the garden, thus crafting a natural barrier. Likewise, all of the pavilion\u2019s openings and windows are located in shadowed areas and an overhang roof protects the terrace from southern sunlight exposure.<\/p>\n

Another sustainable strategy created since the design process is the aspect of \u201cburying\u201d the pavilion; therefore, the temperature exchange benefits from its contact with the land, keeping the inside of the pavilion in optimal conditions using the least amount of energy. Regarding operation, several efficient energy saving devices were installed (toilets, air conditioning, led illumination, sealed PVC screens with double glass, isolation on all surroundings with R20 factor), using maintenance-free materials such as the exposed concrete and appropriate isolation for the garden slab. The garden slab placed on the roof of the pavilion works as a contemplative garden, as well as an extension of the existing backyard, which allows for mitigation of the intervention footprint.<\/p>\n
