The only request from the client was to make it different. We can design the fa\u00e7ade of the sales\u2019 center but keep the interior unchanged.<\/p>\n

\u4ece\u4e00\u7ebf\u57ce\u5e02\u5230\u4e09\u56db\u7ebf\u57ce\u5e02\u65b0\u533a\u7684\u4eba\u4eec\u90fd\u5c45\u4f4f\u4e00\u79cd\u4f3c\u4e4e\u6709\u89c4\u5212\u4f46\u5b9e\u9645\u65e0\u4e2a\u6027\u3001\u65e0\u5386\u53f2\u3001\u65e0\u4e2d\u5fc3\u3001\u65e0\u89c4\u5212\u7684\u76f8\u4f3c\u9762\u8c8c\u7684\u65b0\u57ce\u91cc\u3002\u90fd\u5c45\u4f4f\u5728\u65e0\u5dee\u522b\u7684\u623f\u578b\u91cc\u9762\u4ee5\u53ca\u6e05\u4e00\u8272\u7684\u623f\u5730\u4ea7\u4e4b\u65b0\u53e4\u5178\u4e3b\u4e49\u6216\u8005\u65b0Art’deco\u7684\u7acb\u9762\u540e\u3002\u4f60\u4eec\u4e8b\u5b9e\u4e0a\u5404\u4e0d\u76f8\u540c\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u5c31\u88ab\u8fd9\u73b0\u5b9e\u4e2d\u7684\u95ea\u95ea\u53d1\u5149\u7684Generic\u00a0City\u6240\u63a9\u57cb\u3002<\/p>\n

\u4fde\u633a\u57282017\u5e74\u7684\u68a6\u60f3\u6539\u9020\u5bb6\u771f\u4eba\u79c0\u91cc\u628a\u4e00\u5957\u4e09\u623f\u4e24\u5385\u7684\u6237\u578b\u6539\u6210\u4e00\u623f\u4e00\u5385\u3002\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5728\u7f51\u7edc\u4e0a\u88ab\u53e3\u6c34\u6df9\u6ca1\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u662f\u4fde\u633a\u8bd5\u56fe\u6539\u53d8\u5bf9\u4eba\u4eec\u4e60\u4ee5\u4e3a\u5e38\u7684\u5c45\u4f4f\u6a21\u5f0f\uff08\u5176\u5b9e\u8fd9\u4e2a\u6a21\u5f0f\u6210\u4e3a\u666e\u904d\u6a21\u5f0f\u4e5f\u6ca1\u8d85\u8fc740\u5e74\uff09\u7684\u4e00\u6b21\u8bd5\u63a2\u3002<\/p>\n

In China, no matter where you are, as long as you live in a so-called \u201cmodern city\u201d, you can find the drastic similarity among all of them, that they are all \u201cseems\u201d new, but with no character, no history, no center and no planning. People are living in similar houses that either are \u201cNeo-Classicalism\u201d or have a \u201cNew Art Deco\u201d fa\u00e7ade. Every one actually lives very differently. However, now our distinctive lives are all covered by those generic but flashy Generic City masks.<\/p>\n

Yu Ting was invited to design the interior of an apartment in a Reality TV Show called Dream Home. He took every wall he could take from the apartment, which means that he changed it from a three-bedroom to a one-bedroom apartment. This move brought Yu Ting criticism from all over the internet. That was one of his experiments to change the way people live normally (although this normal had just lasted for less than 40 years).<\/p>\n

Since the client generously gave Yu Ting the freedom to design this stage, Yu ting could not let this chance go. He wants to create this new space, later named White Upland by him, that is a combination of architecture, landscape, interior, lighting, art installation and the most personal moments we have in our lives, memories and emotions. He made this welcoming stage of a sales\u2019 center a communal place, a surreal garden where people around this neighborhood, as well as people from Huzhou could come to enjoy.<\/strong> This is his Manifesto of Anti-generic city.<\/p>\n

\u4fde\u633a\u57282018\u5e74\u7b2c\u56db\u671f\u7684\u300a\u65f6\u4ee3\u5efa\u7b51\u300b\u7684\u6587\u7ae0\u300a\u5fc5\u987b\u4e3b\u89c2\uff1a\u5ba2\u89c2\u7684\u5f53\u4ee3\u8bbe\u8ba1\u65e0\u6cd5\u7ee7\u627f\u4e3b\u89c2\u7684\u53e4\u5178\u56ed\u6797\u300b\u4e00\u6587\u4e2d\u63d0\u51fa\u4e86\u4e3b\u89c2\u6027\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6001\u5ea6\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u5728White upland\u3002\u4ed6\u4ece\u81ea\u8eab\u7684\u7ecf\u5386\u548c\u4f53\u609f\u51fa\u53d1\uff0c\u51b3\u5b9a\u4ee5\u68a6\u5883\u4e3a\u4e3b\u9898\u3002\u8fd9\u4e2a\u573a\u6240\u53ef\u4ee5\u6321\u4f4f\u552e\u697c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7684\u7acb\u9762\u800c\u4e0d\u7528\u82b1\u8d39\u7cbe\u529b\u53bb\u6539\u5efa\u5b83\u3002\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5b8c\u6574\u4f46\u666e\u904d\u7684\u552e\u697c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u9576\u5d4c\u5728\u666e\u904d\u7684\u67af\u71e5\u7684\u5f25\u6f2b\u8513\u5ef6\u7684\u65b0\u533a\u4e00\u8d77\u4ee5\u65e0\u4e2a\u6027\u3001\u65e0\u5386\u53f2\u3001\u65e0\u4e2d\u5fc3\u6210\u4e3a\u8fb9\u754c\u6e05\u6670\u4e2d\u5fc3\u660e\u786e\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u7eaf\u7cb9\u6709\u4e2a\u6027\u521b\u9020\u5386\u53f2\u7684White upland\u7684\u4e0a\u53e5\u3002\u4e3b\u89c2\u6027\u4e5f\u662f\u53cdGeneric\u00a0City\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

In White Upland, Yu Ting started from his own experience and decided to make Dream as the design principle. Instead of changing the fa\u00e7ade of the sales\u2019 center, he chose to cover it by his design. While the original sales\u2019 center remains most normal, boring condition, it becomes the most powerful contrast to this distinctive, history-making White Upland. Subjectivity is also anti-generic.<\/p>\n

Life is a series of obstacles and challenges. Only within the storm, people could deeply perceive the most important meaning of life. Therefore, if there is one place, where people could escape from the reality, forget the pain and pressure that time brings us physically and mentally, it must be in the dreams. Yes, people need daydreams, and daydreaming is anti-generic.<\/p>\n

\u53d1\u5c55\u5546\u5e0c\u671b\u8fd9\u4e2a\u82b1\u56ed\u80fd\u5c55\u793a\u9879\u76ee\u9884\u5236\u6280\u672f\u5e94\u7528\u7684\u7279\u70b9\u3002\u4fde\u633a\u51b3\u5b9a\u4f7f\u7528Generic\u7684\u94a2\u6750\u3002\u5728\u5de5\u5382\u5236\u4f5c\u6210\u578b\u540e\u5230\u73b0\u573a\u5b89\u88c5\u3002\u4ed6\u5f88\u6ee1\u610f\u5728\u5efa\u7b51\u6a21\u578b\u535a\u7269\u9986\u4e2d\u7528\u8fde\u7eed\u7684\u76f4\u7acb\u94a2\u6746\u5f62\u6210\u534a\u900f\u660e\u7684\u8fde\u7eed\u754c\u9762\u3002\u4e8e\u662f\u8fd9\u6b21\u4ed6\u7528529\u68396\u7c73\u9ad8\u7684\u94a2\u67f1\u6765\u6784\u6210White Upland\u534a\u900f\u660e\u7684\u5f62\u72b6\u5b8c\u6574\u7684\u8fb9\u754c\uff0c\u5e76\u5c31\u6b64\u6d88\u89e3\u4e86\u552e\u697c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7684\u7acb\u9762\u3002<\/p>\n

Our client wants this garden to showcase the prefabrication technologies in this project. Yu Ting chose the very generic material, steel. Last time the Models in Model, he managed to create a semi-transparent screen from continuous steel column. This time, to achieve the same result, he used 529 six-meter-high steel columns to mark the boundary of White Upland, as well as resolve the fa\u00e7ade of the sales\u2019 center.<\/p>\n

White upland\u7684\u57fa\u672c\u6784\u6210\u6765\u81ea\u4e8e\u4fde\u633a\u5973\u513f\u5802\u5802\u7684\u68a6\u4e2d\u548c\u7ed8\u753b\u91cc\u65f6\u5e38\u51fa\u73b0\u7684\u573a—\u68ee\u6797\u3002\u4fde\u633a\u7528108\u6839\u4e09\u79cd\u5c3a\u5bf8\u7684\u94a2\u94c1\u4e09\u53f6\u8349\u4f5c\u4e3a\u57fa\u672c\u8981\u7d20\u6784\u5efa\u4e86\u62bd\u8c61\u68ee\u6797\u3002\u5e76\u4ee5\u68ee\u6797\u5f62\u6001\u4e3a\u4f9d\u636e\u6cbf\u7740\u53c2\u89c2\u8def\u5f84\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u5ca9\u6d1e\uff0c\u5c71\u4e18\uff0c\u6eaa\u6d41\uff0c\u6d8c\u6cc9\uff0c\u4f5c\u4e3a\u7a7a\u5730\u7684\u6797\u95f4\u5267\u573a\uff0c\u5de8\u77f3\u548c\u8352\u539f\u3002\u4ed6\u53c2\u8003\u4e86\u739b\u683c\u5229\u7279\u7684\u7ed8\u753b\uff0c\u5c06\u8fd9\u4e9b\u7269\u4f53\u6539\u5199\u6210\u767d\u8272\u7684\u7cbe\u81f4\u51e0\u4f55\u4f53\u3002\u5e76\u4ee5\u8bbe\u5907\u6a21\u62df\u4e86\u661f\u7a7a\uff0c\u4e91\u6735\uff0c\u6668\u853c\uff0c\u8ff7\u96fe\uff0c\u9e1f\u53eb\u548c\u82b1\u9999\u4ee5\u53ca\u7bdd\u706b\u3002\u8fd9\u4e00\u5207\u90fd\u662f\u767d\u8272\u7684\uff0c\u62bd\u79bb\u6240\u6709\u7269\u4f53\u7684\u7269\u8d28\u6027\u800c\u8ba9\u4e00\u5207\u663e\u5f97\u4e0d\u771f\u5b9e\u3002\u6700\u540e\u4ed6\u7528Generic\u7684\u6750\u6599\u548c\u6700\u57fa\u672c\u7684\u5f62\u5f0f\u91cd\u590d\u4ee5\u53ca\u7ec4\u5408\u800c\u5efa\u9020\u4e86\u590d\u6742\u4e30\u5bcc\u7684anti-Generic\u4e4b\u68a6—106\u5428\u94a2\u94f8\u5c31\u76843300\u5e73\u7c73\u7684White upland\u3002<\/p>\n

The main narrative of White Upland was inspired by Yu Ting\u2019s daughter, Tangtang\u2019s dream. Forest is one of the most frequent elements in Tangtang\u2019s dream. Yu Ting used 108 white steel columns in three sizes to form this abstract forest. Then follow the visitors\u2019 circulation, he made different landscapes, such as caves, hills, streams, rocks, highlands, waterfalls and theatres in the woods. He referenced from Rene Magritte\u2019s painting, to abstract those landscapes. He also used facilities to create weather here, then it has starry sky, cloudy sky, sunrise, fog, sounds and smells from the nature, and a bonfire. Making them white makes all of them surreal. Eventually, Yu Ting succeeded in using the most generic materials and manipulations to build an exuberant anti-genetic dream-land, a 3300 m2 White Upland by 106 tons of steel.<\/p>\n
