Buro Lubbers<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aWhat used to be a gloomy, grey traffic square at the back of the railway station is now a lively city that functions as a new urban link in the city center of Hengelo. Its exuberant vegetation and state-of-the-art skate park set it apart from other railway station squares in the Netherlands. The Industrieplein clearly presents Hengelo as an inclusive city moving forward to a sustainable future.<\/p>\n

\u800c\u8fd9\u4e9b\u96be\u9898\u90fd\u5c11\u4e0d\u4e86\u516c\u4f17\u652f\u6301\u3002\u4e3a\u6b64\uff0c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u516c\u53f8\u5728\u8bbe\u8ba1\u65e9\u671f\u9636\u6bb5\uff0c\u5f00\u5c55\u4e86\u4e0e\u5404\u79cd\u5229\u76ca\u6538\u5173\u65b9\u4e3e\u884c\u7684\u4f1a\u8bae\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u4e0d\u4e4f\u51fa\u79df\u8f66\u8fd0\u8425\u5546\u3001\u6ed1\u51b0\u7231\u597d\u8005\u3001\u6c34\u5229\u548c\u94c1\u8def\u7b49\u5de5\u4f5c\u4eba\u5458\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u6240\u6709\u7684\u5174\u8da3\u548c\u613f\u666f\u90fd\u88ab\u7cbe\u5fc3\u91c7\u7eb3\u5e76\u4e00\u4e00\u5c55\u73b0\u3002\u73b0\u5728\u7684\u56ed\u533a\u88ab\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6210\u4e86\u7531\u5404\u79cd\u4e0d\u89c4\u5219\u7684\u7eff\u8272\u788e\u7247\u7ec4\u6210\u7684\u6b63\u65b9\u5f62\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u7eff\u8272\u788e\u7247\u533a\u5206\u4e86\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u529f\u80fd\u533a\uff0c\u5e76\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u8fdb\u51fa\u8f66\u7ad9\u5165\u53e3\u7684\u8def\u5f84\uff0c\u6700\u7ec8\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u8fd9\u6837\u4e00\u4e2a\u5e03\u5c40\u5408\u7406\u7684\u5b89\u5168\u5e7f\u573a\uff0c\u4eba\u6027\u5316\u5730\u4e3a\u4eba\u4eec\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u72ec\u7acb\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u6216\u6ed1\u51b0\u7a7a\u95f4\u548c\u4ea4\u901a\u529f\u80fd\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u5e73\u9759\u6109\u5feb\u7684\u653e\u677e\u4f11\u95f2\u573a\u6240\u3002<\/p>\n

The reason for the complete makeover of the Industrieplein is the redevelopment of the Hart van Zuid area. While preserving its industrial heritage, this city district at the rear of the station, is being transformed into a dynamic urban area for living and working, education and culture. The Industrieplein forms the link between this district and the old city center. Every day thousands of people pass the square on their way to school, work or the nearby music venue Metropool. Plenty of reason to convert the square into something more than a logistic hub.<\/p>\n

But how do you design a square for so many different users and with such a large flow of visitors? Not only did the usual functions such as logical routing, a Kiss & Ride, a taxi rank and a bicycle shed had to be positioned on the square. A skate park, climate friendly vegetation and a new watercourse also deserved a prominent spot.<\/p>\n

Creating space for all these users and functions was a complex puzzle. Public support was an important aim. That is why, at an early stage of the design process, meetings were held with various stakeholders: taxi operators, skaters, water- and railway authorities, etc. All their interests and wishes have been carefully translated into a square designed as a composition of green shards. These green shards distinguish different functional zones and guide the pathways to and from the station entrance. The result is a well-arranged, safe square that simultaneously and harmoniously offers space to people\u2019s, skate and traffic movements as well as calm and pleasant spots to rest and relax, meet and greet.<\/p>\n
