Grey space Architects <\/strong><\/a>\uff1aConcrete Pavilion is an urban installation furniture specially designed for the exhibition \u201cHeterogeneous Adventure: Duolun Road\u201d, a special project of Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art. The design intervention can be seen as a kind of interpretation and regeneration of the urban scene. We understand heterogeneity as the excavation of new possibilities from the noisy and chaotic urban context, creating space of abundant scene shift.<\/p>\n

\u76ee\u524d\u6240\u89c1\u7684\u591a\u4f26\u8def\u8857\u666f\u968f\u5904\u53ef\u89c1\u5386\u53f2\u540d\u4eba\u94dc\u5236\u96d5\u50cf\u5f62\u6210\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u7247\u6bb5\u3001\u751f\u52a8\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u573a\u666f\u548c\u9c9c\u6d3b\u7684\u6e38\u5ba2\u884c\u4e3a\u8ba9\u6574\u6761\u8857\u5448\u73b0\u51fa\u4e30\u5bcc\u800c\u5608\u6742\u7684\u5e02\u4e95\u6c14\u606f\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u9009\u62e9\u4e86\u4f4d\u4e8e\u591a\u4f26\u73b0\u4ee3\u7f8e\u672f\u9986\u4e00\u4fa7\u7684\u5e73\u53f0\u4f5c\u4e3a\u4f5c\u54c1\u57fa\u5730\uff0c\u5e0c\u671b\u548c\u8857\u5bf9\u9762\u96d5\u50cf\u8fb9\u7a7a\u51fa\u7684\u5ea7\u6905\u5f62\u6210\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e92\u52a8\u5173\u7cfb\u3002<\/p>\n

Bronze statues of historical figures seen everywhere in the streetscape of Duolun Road have been some urban fragments forming the rich and vibrant urban scene in the whole street, together with the vivid living snippets and fresh visitor behaviors. We chose the platform on one side of Duolun Museum of Modern Art as the site for this installation, hopefully to interact with the vacant seats by the statues across the street.<\/p>\n

The brand new sculpture was placed intentionally in parallel with the bronze statues in the street as well as the complicated city development phenomenon. Meanwhile, it is a place for We wanted to put in a new sculpture that would parallel the bronze statues of the street and the busy urban development scene. At the same time, it is a resting place to be observed and engaged.<\/p>\n

The site is understood as a multidimensional space of the street, the alleyway to the rear, the building, the old tree on the side, and the branches weeping from the top. The Concrete Pavilion rises from the ground step by step, extending beneath the branches of the nearby tree. Two cantilevered eave spaces are defined by the half wrapped top and the tabletop. The lower seating space faces the alleyway to the rear building, while the upper table space frames a window to observe the street. The installation itself, participates in shaping the cityscape as the background of Dolun Road.<\/p>\n

The design process of the Concrete Pavilion was an attempt to explore form, structure, material and construction simultaneously. We have chosen concrete as the material for this installation, whose plasticity allows for a sculptural form. Meanwhile, its modernity and roughness paradoxically harmonize and clash with the complex background of the street.<\/p>\n

\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5f88\u6709\u8da3\u7684\u6750\u6599\u3002\u5b83\u53ef\u4ee5\u52a0\u5165\u53ef\u56de\u6536\u5e9f\u6599\uff0c\u6709\u4e30\u5bcc\u7684\u53d8\u5316\u5f62\u5f0f\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u5e0c\u671b\u901a\u8fc7\u5bf9\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\u57ce\u5e02\u5bb6\u5177\u7684\u8bd5\u9a8c\u6027\u5efa\u9020\uff0c\u63a2\u8ba8\u5176\u5728\u8bbe\u8ba1\u3001\u5236\u4f5c\u548c\u5b89\u88c5\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\u7684\u95ee\u9898\u4e0e\u89e3\u51b3\u65b9\u5f0f\uff0c\u66f4\u591a\u5730\u53bb\u63a8\u5e7f\u5b83\u5728\u57ce\u5e02\u548c\u793e\u533a\u66f4\u65b0\u4e2d\u7684\u5e94\u7528\u3002<\/p>\n

Concrete is an interesting material. It can be mixed with recyclable waste, and has a rich variety of forms. In this experimental construction of concrete urban furniture, we tend to discuss its dilemmas and solutions in the design, production and installation process, for further promotion of its application in urban and community renewal.<\/p>\n

\u5728\u783c\u4ead\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u4e2d\uff0c\u8003\u8651\u5230\u4f53\u91cf\u548c\u8fd0\u8f93\u7684\u95ee\u9898\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8fd0\u7528\u4e86\u4e00\u79cd\u8d85\u9ad8\u6027\u80fd\u6df7\u51dd\u571f(Ultra\u2014Hilgh Performance Concrete\uff0c\u7b80\u79f0UHPC)\u3002\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5728\u5c40\u90e8\u52a0\u5165\u4e86\u900f\u5149\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\uff0c\u4e3a\u96d5\u5851\u589e\u52a0\u4e86\u591c\u95f4\u7684\u8da3\u5473\u6027\u3002<\/p>\n

In the design of the Concrete Pavilion, we have adopted the ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) in the consideration of scale and transportation. At the same time, light transmitting concrete has been added in some parts, adding fun to the sculpture in the night time.<\/p>\n

UHPC\u662f\u4e00\u79cd\u6027\u80fd\u6307\u6807\u660e\u786e\u7684\u65b0\u54c1\u79cd\u6c34\u6ce5\u57fa\u7ed3\u6784\u5de5\u7a0b\u6750\u6599\u3002\u5176\u521b\u65b0\u4e86\u6c34\u6ce5\u57fa\u6750\u6599(\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\u6216\u7802\u6d46)\u4e0e\u7ea4\u7ef4\u3001\u94a2\u6750(\u94a2\u7b4b\u6216\u9ad8\u5f3a\u9884\u5e94\u529b\u94a2\u7b4b)\u7684\u590d\u5408\u6a21\u5f0f\uff0c\u5927\u5e45\u5ea6\u63d0\u9ad8\u4e86\u7ea4\u7ef4\u548c\u94a2\u7b4b\u5728\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\u4e2d\u7684\u5f3a\u5ea6\u5229\u7528\u6548\u7387\uff0c\u4f7f\u6c34\u6ce5\u57fa\u7ed3\u6784\u6750\u6599\u7684\u5168\u9762\u6027\u80fd\u53d1\u751f\u4e86\u8de8\u8d8a\u5f0f\u8fdb\u6b65\u3002\u4f7f\u7528UHPC\u53ef\u4ee5\u5efa\u9020\u8f7b\u8d28\u9ad8\u5f3a\u548c\u9ad8\u97e7\u6027\u7684\u7ed3\u6784\uff0c\u5f7b\u5e95\u6539\u53d8\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\u7ed3\u6784\u201c\u80a5\u6881\u80d6\u67f1\u201d\u72b6\u6001\uff1b\u5176\u7ed3\u6784\u6240\u62e5\u6709\u7684\u8010\u4e45\u6027\u548c\u5de5\u4f5c\u5bff\u547d\uff0c\u8fdc\u8fdc\u8d85\u8d8a\u94a2\u3001\u94dd\u3001\u5851\u6599\u7b49\u5176\u5b83\u6240\u6709\u7ed3\u6784\u6750\u6599\u3002<\/p>\n

UHPC is a new variety of cement-based structural engineering material with clear performance index. It innovates the composite mode of cement-based materials (concrete or mortar) with fiber and steel (rebar or high-strength prestressed reinforcement), which greatly improves the strength utilization efficiency of fiber and rebar in concrete, making a leap forward in the overall performance of cement-based structural materials. UHPC can be used to build lightweight, high-strength and high-resilience structures, completely downsizing concrete structures. The durability and working span of this structure can far exceed those of all other structural materials, such as steel, aluminum and plastic, etc.<\/p>\n

The installation was broken down into eight blocks, under the consideration of formwork fabrication and product transportation. Connecting elements were pre-casted in between the main force-bearing blocks, while spaced connecting elements in between some non-force-bearing blocks.<\/p>\n
