Ross Barney Architects<\/strong><\/a>: With a grant from the Walton Family Foundation, the City of Rogers, Arkansas has embarked on a project to design a new downtown park that will enhance economic development, spur placemaking, and improve connectivity. Situated on the east boundary of Rogers’ historic downtown district, the new park has the potential to capitalize on recent public space investments and help to make downtown Rogers a regional destination.<\/p>\n

\u5f3a\u6709\u529b\u7684\u793e\u533a\u5916\u5c55\u5de5\u4f5c\u6709\u52a9\u4e8e\u5efa\u7acb\u8d77\u57ce\u5e02\u804c\u5de5\u548c\u5c45\u6c11\u7684\u4e3b\u4eba\u7fc1\u610f\u8bc6\u548c\u81ea\u8c6a\u611f\uff0c\u901a\u8fc7\u4e00\u9879\u6536\u96c6\u4e861000\u591a\u4efd\u95ee\u5377\u548c\u4e13\u5bb6\u7814\u8ba8\u4f1a\u610f\u89c1\u7684\u6570\u636e\u8c03\u67e5\uff0c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u56e2\u961f\u901a\u8fc7\u793e\u533a\u5bf9\u8bdd\u5e2e\u52a9\u786e\u7acb\u4e86\u516c\u56ed\u5efa\u8bbe\u7684\u9884\u671f\u6210\u679c\u548c\u76ee\u6807\u3002\u8fd9\u4e00\u5171\u540c\u613f\u666f\u5305\u542b\u4e94\u4e2a\u65b0\u7684\u4f18\u5148\u7ea7\uff1a\u9080\u8bf7\u3001\u96be\u5fd8\u3001\u6311\u6218\u3001\u7f8e\u4e3d\u548c\u771f\u5b9e\u3002<\/p>\n

The project utilized a robust community outreach effort, which has helped build a sense of ownership and pride from city staff and the residents. Through a digital survey that collected over 1,000 responses and inperson charrettes the design team has helped define the park’s desired outcomes and objectives through the words of the community. This shared vision has resulted in five emerging priorities: Inviting, Memorable, Challenging, Beautiful, and Authentic.<\/p>\n

\u4ece\u7ecf\u6d4e\u548c\u7269\u8d28\u5c42\u9762\u770b\uff0c\u94c1\u8def\u5bf9\u7f57\u6770\u65af\u5e02\u7684\u53d1\u5c55\u81f3\u5173\u91cd\u8981\u30021881\u5e74\u7684\u7b2c\u4e00\u4e2a\u57ce\u5e02\u5757\u5730\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u5229\u7528\u94c1\u8def\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u4e00\u6761\u5f3a\u6709\u529b\u7684\u5206\u754c\u7ebf\uff0c\u6cbf\u7740\u94c1\u8def\u5468\u56f4\u7ec4\u7ec7\u4e8615\u4e2a\u6b63\u65b9\u5f62\u8857\u533a\uff0c\u4e0e\u90a3\u4e2a\u65f6\u4ee3\u7684\u5927\u591a\u6570\u57ce\u9547\u89c4\u5212\u4e0d\u540c\uff0c\u8fd9\u91cc\u6ca1\u6709\u57ce\u9547\u5e7f\u573a\uff0c\u94c1\u8def\u627f\u62c5\u7740\u57ce\u9547\u5e7f\u573a\u7684\u4f5c\u7528\u3002\u65b0\u516c\u56ed\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5f31\u5316\u4e86\u94c1\u8def\u7684\u754c\u7ebf\u611f\uff0c\u5c06\u4e1c\u8fb9\u548c\u897f\u8fb9\u8fde\u63a5\u7f1d\u5408\uff0c\u4e00\u7cfb\u5217\u7684\u5e7f\u573a\u7a7a\u95f4\u53ef\u4ee5\u9002\u65f6\u53d8\u6362\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u591a\u529f\u80fd\u548c\u7075\u6d3b\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u5d2d\u65b0\u4e14\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u8282\u594f\uff0c\u5e76\u4ece\u516c\u56ed\u91cc\u5ef6\u4f38\u5230\u5916\u9762\u76f8\u90bb\u7684\u8857\u9053\u4e0a\u3002<\/p>\n

Rogers, as a city, has been defined both economically and physically by the railroad. The first plat of survey, completed in 1881, uses the rail to create a strong dividing line. The plat organizes fifteen square blocks around the tracks. Unlike most town plans of this era there was no town square; the railroad served that purpose. The park\u2019s design ignores the rail as a barrier and stitches the east and west together. The result is a series of plazas that can transform throughout the day, week, month, and year. These versatile and flexible spaces create a new and distinct rhythm that extends beyond the park into adjacent streets.<\/p>\n

\u7ecf\u8fc7\u7d27\u5f20\u7684\u6570\u636e\u6536\u96c6\u9636\u6bb5\uff0c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u56e2\u961f\u63d0\u51fa\u4e86\u56db\u79cd\u622a\u7136\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u65b9\u6848\uff0c\u5c06\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u5730\u5757\u6574\u5408\u6210\u4e00\u4e2a\u5177\u6709\u51dd\u805a\u529b\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u516c\u56ed\u3002\u6700\u7ec8\u9009\u5b9a\u7684\u65b9\u6848\u7a81\u51fa\u4e86\u72ed\u957f\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u516c\u56ed\u6bcf\u4e2a\u7a7a\u95f4\u90fd\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u201c\u623f\u95f4\u201d\uff1aFrisco\u5e7f\u573a\u3001\u6c34\u5e7f\u573a\u3001\u6e38\u620f\u573a\u548cButterfield\u821e\u53f0\u3002<\/p>\n

Following an intense data gathering period the design team developed four dramatically different approaches that programmed the disparate parcels of land into a cohesive urban park. The selected design accentuates the narrow land through forced vistas on the east and accommodates larger programs on the west. Each space takes on a unique identity as an urban room: Frisco Plaza, Water Plaza, Playard, and Butterfield Stage.<\/p>\n

\u5728\u76f8\u90bb\u57ce\u5e02\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\u5f62\u6210\u7684\u5e26\u72b6\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e4b\u4e2d\uff0c\u690d\u7269\u8302\u76db\u5e76\u7cbe\u5fc3\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u201c\u623f\u95f4\u201d\u6709\u52a9\u4e8e\u5728\u6574\u4e2a\u516c\u56ed\u91cc\u521b\u9020\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u4f53\u9a8c\uff0c\u5e76\u8fdb\u4e00\u6b65\u5c06\u8fd9\u7247\u95f9\u5e02\u533a\u5b9a\u4e49\u4e3a\u57ce\u5e02\u65b0\u4e2d\u5fc3\u3002<\/p>\n

Between the ribbons, which are formed by the adjacent city context, a “room” is created. These densely vegetated and programmed spaces help create unique experiences throughout the park and further frame this piece of downtown as the new center instead of the edge.<\/p>\n

\u9879\u76ee\u91c7\u7528\u4e86\u5bcc\u6709\u6d3b\u529b\u7684\u793e\u533a\u53c2\u4e0e\u7b56\u7565\u3002\u5728\u521d\u59cb\u5f00\u653e\u65e5\u6d3b\u52a8\u4e2d\uff0c\u53c2\u52a0\u8005\u88ab\u8981\u6c42\u7528\u4e00\u4e2a\u5f69\u8272\u7684\u70b9\u6765\u8868\u793a\u4ed6\u4eec\u5c45\u4f4f\u3001\u5de5\u4f5c\u548c\u73a9\u800d\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u300270%\u7684\u53c2\u4e0e\u8005\u5c45\u4f4f\u5728\u516c\u56ed\u65b9\u5706\u4e24\u82f1\u91cc\u7684\u8303\u56f4\u5185\uff0c\u8fd9\u6709\u52a9\u4e8e\u4f20\u8fbe\u793e\u533a\u6c11\u610f\u7684\u5185\u5728\u7cbe\u795e\u3002<\/p>\n

The project utilized a robust community engagement strategy. Attendees at an initial Open House were asked to identify with a colored dot where they lived, worked, and played. 70% of those who attended lived within a two-mile radius of the park, helping inform the spirit of comments received.<\/p>\n
