YIYU Design<\/strong><\/a>: In the making of Nanjing Geology Park, we set out to create a place where anyone, regardless of human, animal, and the nature, could enjoy, and a landscape with emotionally moving and\u00a0calming\u00a0qualities benefitting the timelessness of a geological site.The architect and landscape architect strongly\u00a0endorsed\u00a0the plan, and through the total and mutual respect for each other, the project has\u00a0attained\u00a0the ultimate joy\u00a0of collaborating for a design considering\u00a0the existing nature, landscape, and architecture\u00a0together. These efforts have resulted in a splendid work of architecture and landscape that blends in perfectly with the surrounding nature.<\/p>\n

\u60c5\u611f\u30fb\u54f2\u5b66 \u00a0Emotions and philosophy<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u6211\u4eec\u5c06\u8be5\u516c\u56ed\u89c6\u4f5c\u4e00\u4e2a\u8d85\u8d8a\u4eba\u7c7b\u9700\u6c42\u7684\u73b0\u4ee3\u907f\u96be\u6240\u3002\u5b83\u5bf9\u6240\u6709\u8bbf\u5ba2\u53cb\u597d\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u4e5f\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u52a8\u7269\uff0c\u8774\u8776\uff0c\u548c\u690d\u7269\u751f\u5b58\u7684\u5bb6\u56ed\u3002\u6ca1\u6709\u4efb\u4f55\u96b6\u5c5e\u5173\u7cfb\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u53ef\u4ee5\u8ba9\u6240\u6709\u4eba\u90fd\u5f97\u5230\u4f11\u606f\u548c\u6c89\u601d\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002\u8be5\u516c\u56ed\u4e0d\u50cf\u8fc7\u53bb\u4efb\u4f55\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\uff0c\u5b83\u8ba9\u5efa\u7b51\u548c\u81ea\u7136\u8fbe\u5230\u5171\u5b58\u3002\u5728\u8fbe\u5230\u5b8c\u7f8e\u7684\u5e73\u8861\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e5f\u662f\u4e2a\u65e2\u6e29\u548c\u53c8\u6d53\u70c8\uff0c\u65e2\u91ce\u6027\u53c8\u4eb2\u5bc6\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002<\/p>\n

We seek\u00a0the park as a\u00a0contemporary\u00a0sanctuary\u00a0that transcends\u00a0human needs. Kind to visitors and home to\u00a0animals,\u00a0butterflies, and\u00a0trees. Without any affiliation, this is a place that allows us\u00a0all\u00a0to rest\u00a0and\u00a0contemplate.\u00a0The Park\u00a0is unlikely any other in the past, architectural and natural coexist at the same time. With\u00a0exquisite balance, it is also a place that is gentle yet strong, wild yet intimate.<\/p>\n

\u516c\u56ed\u5efa\u6210\u540e\uff0c\u4e3a\u8ba9\u8fd9\u4e2a\u573a\u5730\u80fd\u6c38\u7eed\u7684\u5ef6\u7eed\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8ba4\u4e3a\u4f20\u9012\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\u7406\u5ff5\u662f\u540c\u7b49\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u3002\u5f53\u6765\u81ea\u5404\u5730\u7684\u4eba\u62dc\u8bbf\u65f6\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5e0c\u671b\u5b83\u6210\u4e3a\u4e00\u4e2a\u81ea\u7136\u4e4b\u5730\uff0c\u5e76\u5728\u672a\u6765\u7684\u51e0\u4ee3\u91cc\u8d85\u8d8a\u4e0d\u540c\u548c\u754c\u9650\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e00\u7406\u5ff5\u5c06\u50cf\u4e00\u682a\u8001\u6811\uff0c\u6301\u7eed\u751f\u957f\u5e76\u5b88\u62a4\u6b64\u5730\u3002<\/p>\n

After the birth of the park, it is our job to cultivate its reason for being as\u00a0those\u00a0entrusted with responsibility of raising it. As people from all over the world\u00a0visits\u00a0the site, it is our hope\u00a0that the park\u00a0will serve as a place of nature, that transcends differences and\u00a0boundaries\u00a0for generation to come, and that this philosophy will last like an old tree continue to grow in time to protect the place.<\/p>\n

\u5357\u4eac\u5730\u8d28\u516c\u56ed\u4f4d\u4e8e\u6c5f\u82cf\u7701\u6c64\u5c71\u5730\u533a\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u5730\u8d28\u9057\u8ff9\u4e0a\uff0c\u5317\u8ddd\u5357\u4eac\u5e02\u7ea625\u516c\u91cc\u5904\u3002\u516c\u56ed\u5728\u4e00\u7247\u8001\u6811\u68ee\u6797\u4e2d\uff0c\u68ee\u6797\u4e2d\u6709\u7740\u5386\u53f2\u60a0\u4e45\u8fc7\u53bb\u66fe\u7528\u4e8e\u77ff\u77f3\u5f00\u91c7\uff0c\u8f93\u9001\u548c\u50a8\u5b58\u4ed3\u5e93\u3002<\/p>\n

\u516c\u56ed\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5229\u7528\u5207\u5165\u5730\u9762\u7684\u4e0b\u6c89\u8def\u5f84\uff0c\u6765\u5c55\u73b0\u5730\u5c42\u7684\u77ff\u7269\u6027\u4e0e\u8d28\u5730\uff0c\u5e76\u547c\u5e94\u573a\u5730\u77ff\u4ea7\u5386\u53f2\u3002\u4fa7\u5899\u548c\u4e0b\u6c89\u5c0f\u8def\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u8fdb\u4e00\u6b65\u5730\u4f7f\u7528\u4e86\u5f53\u5730\u77f3\u6750\uff0c\u589e\u5f3a\u5bf9\u573a\u5730\u77ff\u77f3\u673a\u7406\u7684\u4f53\u9a8c\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u7f16\u7ec7\u51fa\u68ee\u6797\u6d78\u6ca1\u5f0f\u7684\u5b81\u9759\u3002<\/p>\n

The Nanjing Geology Park is\u00a0located on a geological\u00a0heritage site\u00a0in Tangshan area of\u00a0Jiangsu\u00a0province. Approximately 25 kilometers north to\u00a0Nanjing\u00a0city, the Park\u00a0is laid out in a mature forest with historical warehouses for stone miming, transporting, and storage in the past.<\/p>\n

The park\u00a0utilizes its mineral history\u00a0by designing paths cutting\u00a0through the ground to reveal the texture and materiality of the stone. Nevertheless, local stone has been used on the side walls and the sunken paths that provide experiences that amplifies the awareness of the minerality of the site, yet curates the immersive serenity of the forest.<\/p>\n

\u8fd9\u4e9b\u8def\u5f84\u900f\u8fc7\u7cbe\u5fc3\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\uff0c\u4ee5\u548c\u7f13\u5e73\u987a\u7684\u659c\u5761\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u8212\u7545\u7684\u6b65\u884c\u4f53\u9a8c\u3002\u5f53\u8bbf\u5ba2\u884c\u8d70\u5728\u8def\u5f84\u4e0a\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u4f1a\u88ab\u5899\u9762\u548c\u5730\u9762\u4e0a\u7684\u77f3\u6750\u6240\u5305\u56f4\u3002\u8fd9\u79cd\u4f53\u9a8c\u7ed9\u4e88\u4e86\u8bbf\u5ba2\u4e00\u4e2a\u5bf9\u573a\u5730\u5f00\u91c7\u8bb0\u5fc6\u7684\u53cd\u601d\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3002\u77f3\u6750\u7684\u4e0d\u540c\u8d28\u5730\u548c\u5927\u5c0f\u4e5f\u88ab\u4ed4\u7ec6\u7814\u7a76\u8fc7\uff0c\u4ee5\u4fbf\u94fa\u9648\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u6b65\u884c\u901f\u5ea6\u3002\u5165\u53e3\u5e7f\u573a\u5728\u94fa\u88c5\u4e0a\u4f7f\u7528\u4e86\u5927\u578b\u77f3\u5757\uff0c\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u66f4\u52a0\u5e73\u9759\u7684\u4f53\u9a8c\uff1b\u800c\u4f7f\u7528\u4e86\u504f\u5c0f\u77f3\u5757\u7684\u6797\u95f4\u5c0f\u8def\u5219\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u66f4\u52a0\u6709\u6d3b\u529b\u548c\u52a8\u611f\u7684\u65c5\u7a0b\u3002<\/p>\n

The paths are also carefully designed to create gentle slops that provide smooth walking experience descending into the ground. When walking on the paths, visitors are embraced by stone on the walls and the ground. The experience given creates an opportunity for the visitor to reflect on the mining memory of the site. Different textures and sizes of the stone have also been studied for the paving to signify the pace for walking. The entrance plaza where big stones are used for paver creates a calmer experience yet the paths with smaller stones in the woods provide a dynamic and moving journey.<\/p>\n

\u53d7\u5230\u77f3\u77ff\u5f00\u91c7\u5386\u53f2\u7684\u542f\u53d1\uff0c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u53e6\u4e00\u4e2a\u7b56\u7565\u662f\u5728\u5efa\u8bbe\u516c\u56ed\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c \u91cd\u65b0\u5229\u7528\u5730\u57fa\u5f00\u6316\u53d1\u73b0\u7684\u77f3\u5757\u5e76\u52a0\u4ee5\u56de\u6536\u5229\u7528\u3002\u73b0\u573a\u6316\u6398\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\u6240\u5f97\u5230\u7684\u5de8\u77f3\u88ab\u7528\u4f5c\u4e86\u5efa\u9020\u6750\u6599\u3002\u5927\u578b\u77f3\u5757\u7528\u4e8e\u7f8e\u672f\u9986\u5165\u53e3\u505a\u4e3a\u96d5\u5851\u611f\u5f3a\u70c8\u7684\u610f\u8c61\u5143\u7d20\uff0c \u521b\u9020\u51fa\u9707\u64bc\u4eba\u5fc3\u7684\u5165\u573a\u4f53\u9a8c\uff0c\u5e76\u5728\u535a\u7269\u9986\u5165\u53e3\u5904\u8868\u9732\u51fa\u4e86\u4e00\u4e1d\u4f20\u627f\u7684\u6c14\u606f\u3002\u5b9b\u5982\u4e00\u4e2a\u8ffd\u601d\u573a\u6240\u524d\u7684\u81ea\u7136\u5b88\u62a4\u795e\uff0c\u4e00\u4e2a\u4ee4\u4eba\u656c\u4ef0\u7684\u795e\u9f9b\u524d\u7684\u5fe0\u5b9e\u5b88\u536b\u3002\u5927\u5730\u7684\u529b\u91cf\u5728\u5730\u8d28\u7684\u575a\u56fa\uff0c\u6c89\u91cd\uff0c\u548c\u5e73\u9759\u4e2d\u518d\u6b21\u5c55\u73b0\u4e86\u51fa\u6765\u3002<\/p>\n

Another intervention of the design strategy is to mimic the stone mining process, to recycle and reuse the boulders from excavation during the construction. The boulders\u00a0from the ground during site excavation are used as material and sculptural feature in the park. \u00a0Big stones have been placed to form a monumental entering experience that expresses a hint of heritage at the entrance of the museum. Like nature guardians to a place to remember, loyal protectors to a shrine to respect. The handsome power of the ground is revealed again by its geological solidness, heaviness, and calm.<\/p>\n

\u25bc\u5927\u7684\u77f3\u5757\u56de\u6536\u5229\u7528\u505a\u4e3a\u5e7f\u573a\u7684\u94fa\u88c5\u548c\u79cd\u690d\u6c60\u7684\u5143\u7d20 \u521b\u9020\u51fa\u6c89\u7a33\u7684\u573a\u5730\u6c14\u6c1b <\/strong>Boulders from excavation are used as material for planters. Large stones create clam atmosphere at the entrance<\/span><\/p>\n

\u4e3a\u4e86\u4fdd\u62a4\u573a\u5730\u7684\u5386\u53f2\u9057\u8ff9\uff0c\u5efa\u7b51\u5e08\u8c28\u614e\u5730\u7ffb\u65b0\u4e86\u73b0\u72b6\u5efa\u7b51\uff0c\u5c06\u95f2\u7f6e\u7684\u4ed3\u5e93\u548c\u50a8\u5b58\u5854\u53d8\u4e3a\u4e86\u827a\u672f\u4e2d\u5fc3\uff0c\u535a\u7269\u9986\u548c\u753b\u5eca\u3002\u4e3a\u4e86\u7a81\u51fa\u5730\u8d28\u9057\u8ff9\u7684\u5927\u5c71\u58c1\uff0c\u4e3b\u4f53\u5efa\u7b51\u4ee5\u4e00\u4e2a\u5927\u578b\u60ac\u6311\u7cfb\u7edf\u6784\u6210\uff0c \u5e76\u6846\u666f\u4e86\u6574\u4e2a\u5c71\u5d16\u3002\u81ea\u7136\u7684\u529b\u91cf\u548c\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u529b\u91cf\u521b\u9020\u51fa\u5bf9\u6bd4\u7684\u5f20\u529b\u3002\u4e24\u65b9\u4e4b\u95f4\u620f\u5267\u5316\u7684\u4f53\u9a8c\u5524\u8d77\u4e86\u5bf9\u60ac\u5d16\u7684\u611f\u77e5\uff0c\u53ca\u5bf9\u5c3a\u5ea6\u7684\u89c9\u9192 \u2014 \u4eba\u4e4b\u6e3a\u5c0f\uff0c\u81ea\u7136\u4e4b\u5b8f\u4f1f\u3002<\/p>\n

To protect the historical remains\u00a0of the site, the architect\u00a0carefully\u00a0renovates the\u00a0existing\u00a0buildings, transforming the unused warehouses and storage towers into\u00a0an\u00a0art center, museum, and gallery. To highlight the geological\u00a0heritage\u00a0cliff, the main building is designed with a mega\u00a0spanning\u00a0system to frame the cliff. The power of the nature and the strength of the architecture is\u00a0shaped\u00a0by the tension of the contrast. Dramatic experience in between arouses\u00a0the perception of the\u00a0cliff, and the awareness of scale- the smallness of the human, as\u00a0the grandness\u00a0of the nature.<\/p>\n

\u5728\u516c\u56ed\u4e2d\u53e6\u4e00\u4e2a\u88ab\u4fdd\u5b58\u7684\u5143\u7d20\uff0c\u662f\u5b58\u5728\u4e8e\u8fd9\u4e2a\u573a\u5730\u4e0a\u7684\u53e4\u8001\u6811\u6797\u3002\u4e3a\u4e86\u4fdd\u62a4\u516c\u56ed\u4e2d\u7684\u8fd9\u5ea7\u68ee\u6797\uff0c\u6240\u6709\u8001\u6811\u90fd\u88ab\u4fdd\u7559\u4e86\u4e0b\u6765\uff0c\u6240\u6709\u8def\u5f84\u90fd\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6210\u7ed5\u6811\u800c\u884c\uff0c\u4ee5\u907f\u514d\u4f24\u5bb3\u6811\u6839\u3002\u6b64\u8def\u5f84\u7cfb\u7edf\u7ed9\u6811\u6728\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u8db3\u591f\u7684\u751f\u957f\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5e76\u5728\u540c\u65f6\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e0e\u6811\u683c\u5916\u4eb2\u5bc6\u7684\u6b65\u884c\u7f51\u7edc\u3002<\/p>\n

Another element to reserve in the park is the old forest existing for decades at the site. To protect the mature trees in the park, all trees have been reserved and all the paths have been designed to detour around them to avoid damaging the root. As a result, the path system gives sufficient space for the trees to grow, yet at the same time creates an intimate walking network around the trees.<\/p>\n

\u88ab\u4fdd\u7559\u4e0b\u6765\u7684\u6811\u68a2\u4e5f\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u516c\u56ed\u5929\u7136\u7684\u5929\u82b1\u677f\uff0c\u6811\u53f6\u7f1d\u9699\u4e2d\u6d12\u843d\u7684\u5149\u5f71\u5728\u5730\u4e0a\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u7f8e\u4e3d\u7684\u56fe\u6848\u3002\u4ece\u6e05\u6668\u5230\u8584\u66ae\uff0c\u4e0d\u65ad\u53d8\u5316\u7684\u5149\u7ebf\u8868\u660e\u4e86\u65f6\u95f4\u7684\u63a8\u79fb\u3002\u5c0f\u8def\u4e0a\u52a8\u6001\u7684\u6811\u5f71\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u516c\u56ed\u7684\u8ba1\u65f6\u5668\u3002<\/p>\n

The canopies from the reserved trees also become the natural ceiling of the park. Light and shadow through the leaves project beautiful patterns on the ground. From morning to the dusk, the changing light creates a movement that signifies the time. Dynamic patterns at the paths becomes the timer of the park.<\/p>\n

\u516c\u56ed\u7684\u53e6\u4e00\u4e2a\u7279\u70b9\u662f\u573a\u5730\u4e0a\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u77ff\u77f3\u5f00\u91c7\u8bbe\u65bd\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u5305\u62ec\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u8fd0\u8f93\u706b\u8f66\u7684\u94c1\u9053\u7cfb\u7edf\uff0c\u548c\u4e00\u4e2a\u7528\u4e8e\u505c\u653e\u706b\u8f66\u7684\u8f6c\u8f6e\u6c60\u3002\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7b56\u7565\u662f\u4fdd\u7559\u8fd9\u4e2a\u7279\u6b8a\u7684\u8f6c\u8f6e\u6c60\u4f5c\u4e3a\u5e7f\u573a\u4e0a\u7684\u9057\u5740\u5730\u6807\uff0c\u5e76\u4fee\u590d\u635f\u574f\u7684\u94c1\u8f68\u518d\u73b0\u5386\u53f2\u7684\u8f68\u8ff9\u3002\u66fe\u7ecf\u4f5c\u4e3a\u5de5\u4e1a\u8bbe\u65bd\u7684\u6c60\u5b50\u548c\u65b0\u7684\u6c34\u666f\u878d\u4e3a\u4e00\u4f53\uff0c\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u573a\u5730\u4e0a\u7684\u7126\u70b9\u3002\u6d88\u5931\u7684\u8f68\u9053\u8def\u7f51\u88ab\u518d\u6b21\u4fee\u590d\uff0c\u5e26\u5f15\u4eba\u4eec\u81f3\u8fc7\u53bb\u7684\u91c7\u77ff\u5386\u53f2\u3002<\/p>\n

Another feature of the park is the old stone mining infrastructure system at the site, which includes a rail system for shipping trains, and a turning wheel pool for trains to park. The design strategy is to reserve the special pool as an iconic feature on the plaza, and to restore the damaged rails. The pool used to serve as an industrial item is integrated with new water features to be the new focal fountain at the site. A restored rail network is restored again to represent the stone mining history of the past.<\/p>\n
