PLACE Laboratory<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aBackground<\/strong> – Curtin University is an Australian university based in Bentley and Perth, Western Australia. It is named after John Curtin, Prime Minister of Australia from 1941 to 1945, and is the largest university in Western Australia. The School of Medicine is the first building to be delivered as part of an ambitious campus strategy to create a new vibrant mixed-use hub, called Greater Curtin. It is a major shift away from the typical university campus paradigm, to one that is more collaborative and flexible.<\/p>\n

\u8be5\u533b\u5b66\u9662\u9879\u76ee\u662f\u6821\u56ed\u89c4\u5212\u548c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u57fa\u7840\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u4e3a\u54cd\u5e94\u5b66\u6821\u7684\u65b0\u6559\u80b2\u7406\u5ff5\uff0c\u5176\u529f\u80fd\u8bbe\u8ba1\u4e3b\u8981\u5f3a\u8c03\u4e86\u534f\u4f5c\u548c\u591a\u6837\u5316\u7684\u5b66\u4e60\u6a21\u5f0f\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u6821\u56ed\u5185\u4e0d\u540c\u7528\u6237\u7fa4\u4f53\u7684\u591a\u65b9\u9762\u9700\u6c42\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5176\u5efa\u7b51\u3001\u666f\u89c2\u548c\u8857\u666f\u8bbe\u8ba1\u90fd\u59cb\u4e8e\u5bf9\u4eba\u4eec\u5728\u6821\u56ed\u751f\u6d3b\u3001\u5de5\u4f5c\u548c\u4ea4\u6d41\u9700\u6c42\u7684\u6df1\u523b\u7406\u89e3\uff0c\u4ece\u800c\u5c06\u6821\u56ed\u6982\u5ff5\u5316\u4e3a\u4e00\u4e2a\u62e5\u6709\u52a8\u6001\u57ce\u5e02\u7cfb\u7edf\u7684\u5c0f\u578b\u57ce\u5e02\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002<\/p>\n

PLACE Laboratory\u7684\u4efb\u52a1\u662f\u63ed\u793a\u573a\u5730\u672c\u8d28\uff0c\u5e76\u4e3a\u533b\u5b66\u9662\u5f00\u53d1\u51e0\u4e2a\u4e3b\u8981\u7684\u5f00\u653e\u7a7a\u95f4\u548c\u57fa\u7840\u8bbe\u65bd\u3002<\/p>\n

The School of Medicine project is fundamentally about place planning and design. Responding to the shift in the educational philosophy, the building function places emphasis on collaboration and diverse learning models and multifaceted needs of different user groups on campus.<\/p>\n

The design of the building, the surrounding landscapes and streetscapes are derived from a deep understanding of how people live, work and interact with each other in an academic environment, and conceptualise the campus as a city with dynamic urban systems.<\/p>\n

PLACE Laboratory were tasked with uncovering the very essence of the place and develop several major open space and infrastructure projects as part of the Medical School project.<\/p>\n

\u8bbe\u8ba1\u601d\u8def Design Approach<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u6839\u636e\u5bf9\u5f53\u4ee3\u9ad8\u7b49\u6559\u80b2\u7684\u4f5c\u7528\u548c\u529f\u80fd\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u533b\u5b66\u9662\u670d\u52a1\u5bf9\u8c61\u9700\u6c42\u7684\u7406\u89e3\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5f97\u51fa\u4e86\u8be5\u533b\u5b66\u9662\u5ead\u9662\u666f\u89c2\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6982\u5ff5\u3002<\/p>\n

The landscape concept for the Medical School courtyards is derived from an understanding of the role and function of contemporary tertiary pedagogy and the needs of the people they serve.<\/p>\n

\u5ead\u9662\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u7279\u8272\u4e4b\u4e00\u662f\u4e00\u7ec4\u53ef\u8fdb\u884c\u5c0f\u7ec4\u534f\u4f5c\u3001\u8f85\u5bfc\u548c\u975e\u6b63\u5f0f\u8bb2\u5ea7\u7684\u6237\u5916\u906e\u853d\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002\u8fd9\u4e09\u4e2a\u6218\u7565\u6027\u5e03\u5c40\u548c\u5851\u9020\u7684\u6784\u7b51\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u6ee1\u8db3\u533b\u5b66\u9662\u6559\u80b2\u9700\u6c42\u7684\u6700\u4f73\u6237\u5916\u6559\u5b66\u73af\u5883\uff0c\u800c\u4e3a\u4e86\u8fdb\u4e00\u6b65\u6ee1\u8db3\u4e00\u7cfb\u5217\u7684\u6f5c\u5728\u529f\u80fd\u9700\u6c42\uff0c\u8be5\u6784\u7b51\u7269\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u9876\u68da\u548c\u5185\u7f6e\u5ea7\u6905\uff0c\u90fd\u4fdd\u6301\u4e86\u5176\u7075\u6d3b\u6027\u3002\u5f53\u4e0d\u7528\u4e8e\u6559\u5b66\u65f6\uff0c\u8be5\u6784\u7b51\u7269\u53ef\u4f5c\u4e3a\u4e00\u4e2a\u975e\u6b63\u5f0f\u805a\u4f1a\u3001\u793e\u4ea4\u548c\u5b66\u4e60\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5b66\u751f\u548c\u5de5\u4f5c\u4eba\u5458\u53ef\u5229\u7528\u6446\u653e\u5728\u5916\u9762\u7684\u53ef\u5806\u53e0\/\u53ef\u79fb\u52a8\u5bb6\u5177\uff0c\u7075\u6d3b\u5730\u4f7f\u7528\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002<\/p>\n

One of the main features of the building courtyards is a group of outdoor pods designed to provide shaded meeting space for group work, tutorials and informal lectures. The three pods have been strategically orientated and shaped to achieve the optimal outdoor teaching environment to support the education function of the Medical School. The design of the pods, including a canopy and built in seating, maintains flexibility to allow them to meet a range of potential uses.<\/p>\n

When not being used for teaching purposes the pods are a popular place for informal gathering, socialising and study. Stackable\/moveable furniture is placed out each day allowing students and staff to occupy the spaces with complete flexibility.<\/p>\n

\u6784\u7b51\u7269\u5185\u5916\u7edf\u4e00\u7684\u591a\u9762\u51e0\u4f55\u56fe\u6848\u884d\u751f\u81ea\u4ece\u533b\u5b66\u4e2d\u53d1\u73b0\u7684\u5206\u5b50\u7ed3\u6784\u3002\u8be5\u56fe\u6848\u5e7f\u6cdb\u5e94\u7528\u4e8e\u5ea7\u4f4d\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u5899\u9762\u548c\u5ea7\u4f4d\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u94fa\u88c5\uff0c\u4ea7\u751f\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u8fde\u8d2f\u7684\u53d9\u4e8b\u548c\u89c6\u89c9\u6548\u679c\u3002<\/p>\n

A faceted geometrical pattern derived from molecule structures found in medicine is used extensively inside and outside the building. Externally, the pattern has been applied to create the 3-dimensional form of the seating pods, wall facades and seating, and paving patterns, to create a coherent narrative and visual style.<\/p>\n

\u6784\u7b51\u7269\u7684\u6750\u6599\u662f\u6211\u4eec\u6839\u636e\u5176\u906e\u836b\u80fd\u529b\u3001\u989c\u8272\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u5728\u73c0\u65af\u6781\u7aef\u708e\u70ed\u7684\u590f\u5b63\u6297\u70ed\/\u7d2b\u5916\u7ebf\u7684\u80fd\u529b\u800c\u9009\u5b9a\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

The materials of the canopy were selected for their shading ability, lively colours, and ability to sustain heat\/ UV stability in the extreme Perth summer heat.<\/p>\n
