RDH Architects<\/strong><\/a>\uff1a\u5728\u591a\u4f26\u591a\u4ee5\u897f\u7ea645\u5206\u949f\u8def\u7a0b\u7684\u5e03\u5170\u666e\u987f\u5e02\uff0c\u65af\u666e\u6797\u4ee3\u5c14\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\uff08Springdale Library\uff09\u548c\u9a79\u5f62\u4e38\u516c\u56ed\uff08Komagata Maru Park\uff09\u6210\u4e3a\u90ca\u533a\u793e\u533a\u65b0\u7684\u516c\u5171\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u548c\u793e\u533a\u516c\u56ed\u3002RDHA\u8bbe\u8ba1\u4e8b\u52a1\u6240\u7684\u76ee\u6807\u662f\u521b\u9020\u4e00\u4e2a\u5305\u5bb9\u6027\u7684\u805a\u4f1a\u573a\u6240\uff0c\u4e0e\u5e73\u5766\u7684\u90ca\u533a\u76f8\u4e92\u6620\u886c\uff0c\u6210\u4e3a\u57ce\u5e02\u7684\u9a84\u50b2\u3002<\/p>\n

RDH Architects<\/strong><\/a>: In the City of Brampton, about 45 minutes west of Toronto, the Springdale Library and Komagata Maru Park provides the suburban community with a new public library and community park. RDHA\u2019s goal was to create an inclusive gathering place, a counterpoint to the otherwise flat suburban area, and a point of pride for the city.<\/p>\n

The project site was physically constrained, framed by a commercial plaza to the east, a main road to the south, and a natural ravine to the north and west. The architects positioned the library as close to the street as possible, in order to solidify the building\u2019s presence with the street, preserve the site\u2019s natural topography and irrigation patterns, and channel interior views towards the ravine. This siting also maximized room in the rear for a neighbourood park, and a parking and drop-off sequence with a canopied entry forecourt.<\/p>\n

RDHA\u5bf9\u573a\u5730\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u65e2\u4e0e\u5efa\u7b51\u6709\u5173\uff0c\u4e5f\u4e0e\u666f\u89c2\u7684\u5efa\u7acb\u6709\u5173\uff1a\u4ee5\u8fde\u63a5\u5efa\u7b51\u548c\u5ead\u9662\u7684\u6709\u673a\u5f62\u72b6\u8fb9\u754c\u4e3a\u7740\u624b\u70b9\uff0c\u5728\u6d41\u7545\u7684\u5929\u82b1\u677f\u548c\u5c71\u4e00\u822c\u7684\u7eff\u8272\u5c4b\u9876\u4e4b\u95f4\u5851\u9020\u8d77\u4f0f\u7684\u5730\u5f62\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5185\u90e8\u503e\u659c\u7684\u5730\u677f\u548c\u516c\u56ed\u5e73\u5766\u7684\u666f\u89c2\u3002\u516c\u56ed\u7531\u4e00\u7cfb\u5217\u4f9b\u8001\u5e74\u4eba\u4f7f\u7528\u7684\u53f0\u5730\u5f0f\u51a5\u60f3\u82b1\u56ed\u4ee5\u53ca\u56f4\u7ed5\u201c\u60f3\u8c61\u201d\u4e00\u8bcd\u7ec4\u7ec7\u7684\u55b7\u6c34\u57ab\u548c\u513f\u7ae5\u6e38\u620f\u533a\u7ec4\u6210\uff0c\u4e94\u7c73\u9ad8\u7684\u4e09\u7ef4\u7acb\u4f53\u5b57\u6bcd\u6210\u4e3a\u513f\u7ae5\u63a2\u7d22\u7684\u4e92\u52a8\u7279\u8272\u5c0f\u54c1\u3002<\/p>\n

RDHA designed a project that would be as much about a building as it is about establishing a landscape: from the organically shaped perimeter that joins building and courtyards; and the creation of an undulating topography between the fluidly shaped ceiling and mountainous green roof; and the sloping floor slab of the interior and the flat landscape of the park. The park is comprised of a series of terraced contemplative gardens for older users as well as a splashpad and childrens\u2019 play area organized around the word \u201cImagine.\u201d The five-metre-high letters are oriented in both horizontal and vertical planes and become an interactive feature for the children to discover.<\/p>\n

The interior program is comprised of 20,000 square feet of library program space, combined with a 5,000 square foot community multi-purpose room. Each element of the library, detailed in scope, highlights RDHA\u2019s practice of applying conventional budgets and materials to design unconventional buildings. For example, Springdale\u2019s oculi, fashioned from perforated drywall fixed to off-the-shelf framing components, temper the noise levels and the way that light spreads within the library, to inspire a sense of awe and wonder \u2014 and an unusual sense of shelter and togetherness.<\/p>\n
