The landscape design was inspired by the strong character of the ancient estate, reflecting a land of tradition and culture, organically bound to history, religion, and agriculture. Also, by the amazing UNESCO\u2019s world heritage surrounding landscape of the\u00a0\u2018Alto Douro Vinhateiro\u2019, where the hills contiguous to Douro River are hand sculpted terraces lined with grapevines. The garden design aimed at balancing traditional and contemporary features. It is traditional in the way that maintains the original structure, as is the case of the upper terraces that have always been the formal gardens of the house. The contemporary part of the design relates to the reinterpretation of the formal garden expression using different vegetation display, and the creation of a vibrant vegetable garden on the lower terrace, replacing the former tennis court.<\/p>\n

Topiaris\u8bbe\u8ba1\u56e2\u961f\u5728\u83dc\u56ed\u4e2d\u878d\u5408\u4e86\u65e7\u6c34\u7bb1\u548c\u7247\u5ca9\u5899\u7b49\u4f20\u7edf\u5143\u7d20\u4ee5\u53ca\u8010\u5019\u94a2\u79cd\u690d\u5e8a\u7b49\u65b0\u6750\u6599\uff0c\u4e0e\u73b0\u4ee3\u5316\u5e03\u5c40\u548c\u5343\u53d8\u4e07\u5316\u7684\u79cd\u690d\u65b9\u6848\u76f8\u7ed3\u5408\u3002\u8fd9\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5145\u6ee1\u6d3b\u529b\u7684\u3001\u6709\u751f\u547d\u7684\u3001\u6709\u673a\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5f3a\u70c8\u5730\u523a\u6fc0\u7740\u4eba\u4eec\u7684\u611f\u5b98\u3002\u5b83\u4e5f\u662f\u52a8\u6001\u53d8\u5316\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u6bcf\u5929\u90fd\u968f\u7740\u4f5c\u7269\u91c7\u6458\u548c\u5b63\u8282\u7684\u53d8\u5316\u800c\u53d8\u5316\uff0c\u4e14\u4e0e\u9152\u5e97\u7684\u65e5\u5e38\u751f\u6d3b\u606f\u606f\u76f8\u5173\u3002<\/p>\n

Topiaris integrated traditional elements, as the old tank and the schist walls, and new materials for the vegetable garden, as the corten steel in the planting beds\u2019 limits, combined with a contemporary layout and with an ever-changing planting scheme. It is a vibrant, living, organic space that strongly appeals to the senses. It is mutable as it changes every day with the harvests, and with the seasons, and it is deeply connected with the Hotel and SPA daily life.<\/p>\n

\u8be5\u6539\u9020\u9879\u76ee\u7684\u4e00\u671f\u5341\u5206\u5177\u6709\u6311\u6218\u6027\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u5728\u65f6\u95f4\u7684\u5b89\u6392\u4e0a\uff0c\u4ece\u5f00\u5de5\u5230\u7ae3\u5de5\u4ec5\u7528\u4e869\u4e2a\u6708\u3002\u5728\u9879\u76ee\u4e8c\u671f\uff0c\u65e7\u7684\u5546\u52a1\u4e2d\u5fc3\u88ab\u6539\u9020\u4e3a\u9152\u5e97\u5ba2\u623f\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u8fc7\u53bb\u95f2\u7f6e\u7684\u5ba4\u5916\u533a\u57df\u88ab\u6539\u9020\u6210\u5957\u623f\u7684\u79c1\u4eba\u82b1\u56ed\uff0c\u7531\u7cbe\u5fc3\u79cd\u690d\u7740\u672c\u5730\u690d\u7269\u7684\u82b1\u7bb1\u9694\u5f00\u3002\u4e0a\u5c42\u7684\u4e24\u4e2a\u623f\u95f4\u6709\u79c1\u4eba\u5c0f\u6865\u53ef\u4ee5\u901a\u5f80\u201c\u79d8\u5bc6\u82b1\u56ed\u201d\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u975e\u5e38\u79c1\u5bc6\u7684\u6728\u8d28\u5e73\u53f0\uff0c\u5468\u56f4\u5c71\u5761\u4e0a\u73af\u7ed5\u7740\u7cbe\u5fc3\u79cd\u690d\u7684\u690d\u88ab\u3002\u76ee\u524d\uff0c Topiaris\u8bbe\u8ba1\u56e2\u961f\u6b63\u5728\u5bf9\u522b\u5885\u7684\u6240\u6709\u82b1\u56ed\u8fdb\u884c\u7ffb\u65b0\u3002<\/p>\n

The 1st phase of the renovation project was challenging, especially due to timings. It took only 9 months since it started until the end of the construction works. In a second phase of the project, the former business center was adapted to hotel rooms. As such, adjacent outdoor areas that previously were not used were reformed to become the suite\u2019s private gardens, separated by flower boxes, carefully planted with native vegetation. Two upper rooms have small private bridges that give access to \u2018secret gardens\u2019, which consist in very intimate wooden deck terraces framed by the carefully planted vegetation in the surrounding hillslopes. Currently, all the villa\u2019s gardens are being subject to renovations by Topiaris.<\/p>\n
