With the design of Villa Fifty-Fifty the architects took the opportunity to push the typology of the transparent \u2028house. The clients, who commissioned Studioninedots some years back to design their first house, now desired a \u2028minimalist lifestyle and requested to live with nature. Studioninedots sought to investigate a rather radical \u2028translation of the view that living and outdoor functions are equally important.<\/p>\n

Avoiding the obvious locations, \u2028all functions are randomly organized as connected volumes between two horizontal planes. This resulted in a \u2028pavilion-like house that unfolds across the garden, enhancing the relation between the building and the \u2028landscape, and in a unique patchwork of connections between open and enclosed, between inside and outside. \u2028Half house, half garden in one single volume.<\/p>\n

\u8be5\u4f4f\u5b85\u7531\u6c34\u5e73\u548c\u5782\u76f4\u4e24\u4e2a\u65b9\u5411\u7684\u529f\u80fd\u7a7a\u95f4\u7ec4\u6210\u3002\u4e00\u697c\u662f\u5171\u4eab\u5bb6\u5ead\u7a7a\u95f4\u548c\u2028\u7236\u6bcd\u4f7f\u7528\u7a7a\u95f4\uff1b\u5973\u5b69\u4eec\u7684\u623f\u95f4\u5219\u5e03\u7f6e\u5728\u9ad8\u5c42\u7684\u5c0f\u623f\u5b50\u91cc\uff0c\u5b83\u4eec\u4ece\u4e24\u5757\u6c34\u5e73\u697c\u677f\u4e2d\u5782\u76f4\u7a7f\u51fa\u5f62\u6210\u72ec\u7acb\u7ed3\u6784\u3002\u2028\u5165\u53e3\u4f4d\u4e8e\u4ead\u5b50\u548c\u5c0f\u623f\u5b50\u7684\u4ea4\u6c47\u5904\u3002\u2028\u6240\u6709\u7684\u7ed3\u6784\u76f8\u4e92\u8054\u7cfb\u53c8\u76f8\u4e92\u72ec\u7acb\u3002\u901a\u8fc7\u5404\u79cd\u76f8\u4f3c\u5c3a\u5bf8\u7684\u5c4b\u9876\u5f00\u53e3\u8bbe\u8ba1\uff0c\u8ba9\u6bcf\u4e2a\u7ed3\u6784\u62e5\u6709\u2028\u72ec\u7acb\u7684\u6c1b\u56f4\u548c\u5149\u7ebf\uff0c\u4ece\u800c\u6709\u52a9\u4e8e\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u8fc7\u6e21\u3002<\/p>\n

Villa Fifty-Fifty is composed of functions organized both horizontally and vertically. The shared family spaces and \u2028the parents\u2019 spaces are located on the ground floor; the girls have their own rooms in the tiny house in the \u2028tower which is designed to be self-contained. This tower protrudes vertically through the two horizontal slabs. \u2028The entrance is situated at the intersection of the pavilion and the tiny house.\u2028 All volumes are interconnected and mutually independent. Within similar dimensions, the volumes have their \u2028own atmosphere and light through the various roof openings and thus contribute to the transition of space.<\/p>\n

The design is complemented with industrial materials, united under a palette of greys and with varying textures. \u2028Glass dominates, naturally, to blur the boundaries between inside and outside and to allow for views and open \u2028sight lines. Four enclosed volumes feature an unusual application of materials. The master bathroom volume is \u2028clad with flagstones; glazed bathroom tiles adorn the walls in the bedroom and office. The round shed is \u2028fashioned from semi-transparent corrugated polycarbonate. Wrapped in polished aluminium, the tower subtly \u2028mirrors the landscape, creating an almost camouflaged surface that reflects the changing seasons and weather. \u2028Additionally, customised applications elevate industrial elements into refined details. This open garden home \u2028connects well to the adjacent woodlands and also the industrial heritage of Strijp-R is subtly echoed in the \u2028design.<\/p>\n
