\u201c\u7fa4\u5c9b\u5ead\u9662\u201d\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a6000\u5e73\u65b9\u82f1\u5c3a\u7684\u793e\u533a\u666f\u89c2\u670d\u52a1\u4e8e\u5468\u56f4\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u5c45\u6c11\u3002\u5730\u5f62\u88ab\u8981\u6c42\u91cd\u65b0\u601d\u8003\u4ee5\u524d\u8d2b\u7620\u7684\u7816\u77f3\u8def\u9762\u7684\u7528\u9014\u548c\u6f5c\u529b\u3002<\/p>\n

Archipelago Courtyard is a communal 6,000 square foot landscape serving the residents of the surrounding building. \u00a0Terrain was asked to re-think the use and potential of what was previously a barren field of brick paving.<\/p>\n

Terrain developed a series of islands\u00a0within a new field of paving.\u00a0\u00a0The islands\u00a0function as built in seating, flexible sub-spaces and protected soil volume for the distinct grove\u00a0of a Honey Locusts which provides shade and comfort. \u00a0The geometry and terracing of the courtyard creates a child friendly circuit for running, biking and play. Residents utilize the space daily to access their apartments, play with children, walk dogs, use the outdoor kitchen and host events ranging from building wide block\u00a0parties to informal gatherings.<\/p>\n
