AUBE CONCEPTION<\/strong><\/a>: Having gone through nearly three years of construction, early this year, aboveground levels of Shenzhen Bao’an Baywalk, jointly designed by AUBE Conception and JAMES CORNER FIELD OPEARATIONS,L.L.C., have been officially completed. At the end of June, this China’s first 3D multi-functional “Trinity” urban green corridor integrating triple experiences in the air, on the ground and underground is now fully open to the public with its underground spaces finished. As the first slow-traffic system in Qianhai Bay area connecting the city to the sea, the Baywalk establishes a three-dimensional uninterrupted urban park of ecological diversity, openness and spirit of sharing, which extends the coastal vitality to the city\u2019s green axis, not only linking the coast to the sea for Bao\u2019an Central District, but also once again having its urban recognition and reputation of Bao’an refreshed. The project has soon become a new landmark of the city where citizens are keen to visit and take a walk.<\/p>\n

\u6df1\u5733\u5b9d\u5b89\u6ee8\u6d77\u5eca\u6865\u4f4d\u4e8e\u6df1\u5733\u5e02\u5b9d\u5b89\u4e2d\u5fc3\u533a\u6838\u5fc3\u5730\u5e26\uff0c\u662f\u5b9d\u5b89\u533a\u59d4\u3001\u533a\u653f\u5e9c\u5b8c\u5584\u6162\u884c\u7cfb\u7edf\u3001\u7f1d\u5408\u57ce\u5e02\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u6c11\u751f\u5de5\u7a0b\u3002\u5b9d\u5b89\u4e2d\u5fc3\u533a\u7684\u5b9a\u4f4d\u662f\u57ce\u5e02\u4e2d\u592e\u6d3b\u529b\u533a\u548c\u79d1\u6280\u521b\u65b0\u670d\u52a1\u533a\uff0c\u5728\u524d\u6d77\u6269\u5bb9\u540e\u5177\u6709\u4e86\u66f4\u52a0\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u533a\u57df\u6027\u6218\u7565\u5730\u4f4d\u3002\u9879\u76ee\u5168\u957f\u7ea6 2 \u516c\u91cc\uff0c\u5317\u8d77\u5b9d\u5b89\u4f53\u80b2\u573a\uff0c\u4e1c\u8054\u5b9d\u5b89\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\uff0c\u5357\u81f3\u6ee8\u6d77\u6587\u5316\u516c\u56ed\uff0c\u9065\u671b\u524d\u6d77\u6e7e\u3002\u5eca\u6865\u8de8\u8d8a 9 \u4e2a\u57ce\u5e02\u5730\u5757\u30016 \u6761\u57ce\u5e02\u4e3b\u5e72\u9053\uff0c\u7a7f\u8d8a\u6838\u5fc3\u5546\u52a1\u533a\u7eff\u5e26\uff0c\u751f\u6001\u94fe\u63a5\u5b9d\u5b89\u4f53\u80b2\u573a\u3001\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u3001\u6838\u5fc3\u5546\u52a1\u533a\u3001\u201c\u6e7e\u533a\u4e4b\u58f0\u201d\u6f14\u827a\u4e2d\u5fc3\u3001\u6ee8\u6d77\u6587\u5316\u516c\u56ed\u7b49\u57ce\u5e02\u91cd\u8981\u8282\u70b9\uff0c\u8fdb\u4e00\u6b65\u589e\u5f3a\u4e2d\u5fc3\u57ce\u533a\u901a\u8fbe\u6027\uff0c\u662f\u4e32\u8054\u57ce\u5e02\u80fd\u91cf\u4e0e\u6ee8\u6c34\u6d3b\u529b\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u7ebd\u5e26\u3002<\/p>\n

Located in the core area of Shenzhen Bao’an Central District, Shenzhen Bao’an Baywalk is a critical project for people\u2019s well-being implemented by Bao’an District Party Committee and District Government to improve the slow-traffic system while stitching urban spaces. Positioned as the city’s central vitality area and technological innovation service area, Bao\u2019an Central District takes an increasingly essential role of regional strategy after the expansion of Qianhai area. The project covers a full length of 2 kilometers that starts from Bao’an Stadium in the north, connecting Bao’an Library in the east and ends at Binhai Cultural Park in the south, overlooking the Qianhai Bay. The Baywalk spans across nine urban plots, six urban main roads, and crosses the green belt of the core business district, ecologically linking urban key nodes such as Bao’an Stadium, library, core business district, “Bay Voice” Performing Arts Center, and Binhai Cultural Park. By further enhancing the accessibility of urban downtown area, the project is a crucial link bridging urban vigor and waterfront vitality.<\/p>\n

2 \u516c\u91cc\u7684\u6ee8\u6d77\u5eca\u6865\u96c6\u805a\u5730\u4e0a\u4e8c\u5c42\u8fde\u5eca\u3001\u5730\u9762\u666f\u89c2\u56ed\u548c\u5730\u4e0b\u4eba\u884c\u516c\u5171\u901a\u9053\u591a\u79cd\u529f\u80fd\uff0c\u4e3b\u5eca\u957f\u5ea6\u7ea6 1500\u7c73\uff0c\u652f\u5eca\u957f\u5ea6\u7ea6 500 \u7c73\uff0c\u5305\u542b 12 \u5904\u666f\u89c2\u827a\u672f\u8282\u70b9\u30019 \u5927\u7279\u8272\u533a\u6bb5\u30018 \u79cd\u690d\u7269\u4e3b\u9898\u30018 \u5904\u4e0b\u6c89\u5e7f\u573a\u30016 \u6bb5\u7279\u8272\u5730\u4e0b\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u591a\u5904\u6865\u9762\u4f11\u61a9\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002<\/p>\n

The 2-kilometer Baywalk gathers multiple functions of aboveground galleries on level 2, landscaped gardens on level 1 and public underground pedestrian passages. The main corridor stretches approximately 1,500 meters with branch corridors of around 500 meters, encompassing 12 landscape art nodes, 9 featured sections, 8 plant themes of various species, 8 sunken plazas, 6 characteristic underground spaces and multiple rest spaces on the bridge floor.<\/p>\n

\u6ee8\u6d77\u5eca\u6865\u5171\u5206\u4e3a\u7eff\u6797\u5eca\u3001\u82b1\u6728\u5eca\u3001\u5c71\u6c34\u5eca\u3001\u7eff\u666f\u5eca\u548c\u827a\u672f\u5eca\u4e94\u5927\u5206\u533a\uff0c\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u7279\u8272\u4e3b\u9898\u63d0\u5347\u5eca\u6865\u6574\u4f53\u7684\u7a7f\u884c\u4f53\u9a8c\u3002\u7eff\u6797\u5eca\u4f5c\u4e3a\u8fde\u63a5\u5b9d\u5b89\u4f53\u80b2\u9986\u7684\u8d77\u59cb\u7aef\uff0c\u6807\u5fd7\u6027\u7684\u5f27\u5f62\u6865\u8eab\u4ee5\u767d\u8272\u4e3a\u4e3b\u8272\u8c03\uff0c\u7ed3\u5408\u534a\u900f\u660e\u7684\u91d1\u5c5e\u677f\u7f51\uff0c\u8425\u9020\u51fa\u7b80\u6d01\u7075\u52a8\u7684\u6865\u4f53\u5f62\u8c61\u548c\u901a\u900f\u5f00\u9614\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u89c6\u91ce\u3002\u82b1\u6728\u5eca\u7acb\u610f\u4e3a\u57ce\u5e02\u7684\u82b1\u6728\u6797\u5730\uff0c\u901a\u8fc7\u642d\u914d\u51e4\u51f0\u6728\u3001\u98ce\u94c3\u6728\u7b49\u4e0d\u540c\u82b1\u671f\u7684\u5f00\u82b1\u690d\u7269\uff0c\u5f62\u6210\u666f\u8272\u968f\u56db\u5b63\u66f4\u8fed\u7684\u82b1\u6811\u5e7f\u573a\u3002\u6865\u6bb5\u8bbe\u7f6e\u89c2\u666f\u5854\uff0c\u53ef\u4fef\u77b0\u6ee8\u6d77\u6587\u5316\u5e7f\u573a\u666f\u89c2\u3002<\/p>\n

The Baywalk is designated with five sections of Green Forest Gallery, Flowering Tree Gallery, Shan-shui Gallery, Green View Gallery and Art Gallery, each celebrating various thematic characters to enhance the overall pedestrian experience of the Baywalk. The Green Forest Corridor serves as the starting point connecting to the Bao’an Stadium. Its iconic curved bridge body takes white as the main color, making a perfect match with the translucency of metal meshes to create a simple and flexible image juxtaposed with an open thorough view of the city. The Flowering Tree Gallery takes the concept of an urban flowering tree forest. By arranging flowering plants of varied blossom periods including phoenix flowers and rosy trumpet trees, this section forms a flowering tree square where the scenery changes along seasons. Besides, a viewing tower is also set up here, overlooking the landscape of the Binhai Cultural Square.<\/p>\n

The Shan-shui Gallery takes advantages of the sunken plaza\u2019s height difference, presenting a mountain forest that stitches the underground and the aboveground, and forms an iconic wetland landscape park in the underground space to guide the traffic flow. The Green View Gallery creates an interlaced floating plant garden utilizing multi-layered planting beds and meanwhile provides enough shade and rest facilities to create a three-dimensional green social space. The Art Gallery interconnects the Bao’an Binhai Cultural Park with its curved bridge body, in combination with rich terrains and underground spaces to form a public art corridor. There are 12 sets of vividly colored art installations built by artists and architects (or teams) at home and abroad along the Baywalk, forming a distinctive contrast with the backdrop of the white Baywalk, which both creates a public stage for art lovers to communicate and share and for the city to host public art-themed events.<\/p>\n

The Baywalk crosses various core areas of Bao’an Central District, facing multiple challenges such as heavy traffic, numerous stakeholders involved, extremely high quality requirements and the Covid-19 pandemic. During the implementation of the project, AUBE as the lead of the general design contract has cooperated with over 20 design consultant firms to develop drawings involving multiple bid sections. With close cooperation between the design and construction teams, AUBE has successfully managed to ensure the overall outcome and detail control. Benchmarking the international leading industry standards, the team has overcome a series of technical challenges such as large-span steel structure, fire protection, vertical design, mechanical and electrical design, underground passages and the connection to surrounding properties. In the meantime, the AUBE team has made new breakthroughs in other aspects including sponge city construction, green space development and underground space utilization.<\/p>\n

Shenzhen Bao’an Baywalk has become a new benchmark for open, shared and ecological urban public spaces in the Qianhai Cooperation Zone.
