\u201c\u6211\u4eec\u5e0c\u671b\u5c0a\u91cd\u573a\u5730\u7684\u5386\u53f2\u5c42\u6b21\u2014\u2014\u516c\u56ed\u62e5\u6709\u66fe\u7531Darug\u4ebaBurramatta\u90e8\u843d\u7edf\u9886\u7684\u4e30\u5bcc\u5386\u53f2\u80cc\u666f\uff0c\u5e76\u4e0e\u571f\u8457\u793e\u533a\u4fdd\u6301\u7740\u8054\u7cfb\u3002\u5b83\u662f\u2018\u6fb3\u5927\u5229\u4e9a\u7f6a\u72af\u6d41\u653e\u5730\u2019\u4e16\u754c\u6587\u5316\u9057\u4ea7\u540d\u5f55\u768411\u4e2a\u9057\u5740\u4e4b\u4e00\uff0c\u5e76\u5305\u542b\u4e86\u6fb3\u5927\u5229\u4e9a\u73b0\u5b58\u6700\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u516c\u5171\u5efa\u7b51\u548c\u73b0\u5b58\u6700\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u5de5\u4eba\u5c0f\u5c4b\u3002\u201dCrawford\u8865\u5145\u9053\u3002<\/p>\n

Sam Crawford explains: \u201cThe key design driver was to maintain the footprint of the former cafe building so as to avoid disturbance of significant Indigenous and early European artefacts. Reuse was also critical – the slab, walls, bricks, many steel windows and doors and some roof trusses were all recycled. It was a gymnastics exercise – we couldn\u2019t dig anything, the utilities had to remain in the same location, and of course we needed to meet the 21st century building code. And be future proof to adapt for changing uses.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to respect the layers of history of the site – the park setting has a rich period of occupation by the Burramatta clan of the Darug people and ongoing connection for the Indigenous community. It is one of eleven sites that form the \u2018Australian Convict Sites\u2019 World Heritage listing, and contains the oldest remaining public building and oldest remaining workers cottage in Australia,\u201d added Crawford.<\/p>\n

\u8fd9\u5ea7\u5efa\u7b51\u5f00\u653e\u800c\u70ed\u60c5\uff0c\u62e5\u6709\u5927\u578b\u7684\u94a2\u6846\u67b6\u95e8\u7a97\u548c\u9ad8\u8038\u7684\u503e\u659c\u5929\u82b1\u677f\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u5f15\u8fdb\u81ea\u7136\u5149\u7ebf\uff0c\u5e76\u80fd\u6e05\u695a\u5730\u770b\u5230\u516c\u56ed\u3001\u6cb3\u6d41\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u8fdc\u5904\u84ec\u52c3\u53d1\u5c55\u7684Parramatta\u5e02\u3002\u957f\u957f\u7684\u91d1\u5c5e\u5c4b\u9876\u4f7f\u7528\u8f7b\u8d28\u900f\u660e\u7684\u6750\u6599\u521b\u9020\u51fa\u5f15\u4eba\u6ce8\u76ee\u7684\u5f62\u5f0f\uff0c\u589e\u5f3a\u4e86\u5185\u5916\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e4b\u95f4\u7684\u8054\u7cfb\u3002\u897f\u5357\u89d2\u7684\u534a\u900f\u660e\u5c4b\u9876\u5411\u5916\u4f38\u51fa\uff0c\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u65b0\u7684\u5ba4\u5916\u5c31\u9910\u533a\uff0c\u589e\u52a0\u4e86\u7528\u9910\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5e76\u53ef\u4ee5\u906e\u6321\u5348\u540e\u7684\u9633\u5149\u3002<\/p>\n

It also sits on the site of former dressing sheds (also destroyed by fire) for river bathers dating from circa 1912, when the prohibition of public bathing was lifted. It overlooks \u2018Little Coogee\u2019, a former swimming and picnicking spot on the Parramatta River banks. And connects to cycleways and walkways in the park.<\/p>\n

Open and welcoming, the building has large steel-framed windows and doors and lofty pitched ceilings, which provide natural light and clear views of the park and river and the burgeoning city of Parramatta in the distance. The long metal roof produces a striking form with light-weight and transparent materials to increase connection between the inside and outside spaces. The translucent roof at the south-western end is cantilevered out to create an additional outside covered eating area, increasing dining capacity and giving shade from the afternoon sun.<\/p>\n

\u5177\u6709\u5f3a\u70c8\u5b58\u5728\u611f\u7684\u5165\u53e3\u662f\u666f\u89c2\u4e2d\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u6807\u5fd7\uff0c\u5b83\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u5efa\u7b51\u5230\u6cb3\u6d41\u7684\u89c6\u89c9\u8fde\u63a5\uff0c\u5e76\u5728\u4e24\u4e2a\u5c71\u5899\u5c4b\u9876\u51e0\u4f55\u5f62\u72b6\u4e4b\u95f4\u8d77\u5230\u7f13\u51b2\u4f5c\u7528\u3002\u5de8\u5927\u7684\u95e8\u69db\u53ef\u4ee5\u8fce\u63a5\u3001\u805a\u96c6\u548c\u5f15\u5bfc\u987e\u5ba2\uff0c\u5e76\u5c06\u4e00\u68f5\u767e\u5e74\u5927\u6811\u548c\u8fdc\u5904\u6cb3\u6d41\u7684\u666f\u89c2\u6846\u5b9a\u8d77\u6765\u3002<\/p>\n

A strong entry portal is a marker in the landscape, providing a visual link through the building to the river, and mediating between two gable roof geometries. The oversized threshold welcomes, gathers and directs patrons and frames the view of a large fig tree and the river beyond.<\/p>\n
