Located in the center of connected-line between Zhengzhou and Kaifeng, the Pulo Ideal Land has transformed from a dilapidated farmland into a mini immigrant city which integrated life, education, and medical care together, along with abundant community life and beautiful natural environment.<\/p>\n

The national highway was sunk and transformed into a tunnel, giving way to an 88,000-square-meter Central Park, which could provide space for football activities, children’s land and water entertainment facilities, lakeside western restaurants and so on. The heavily polluted irrigation canal and flood drainage ditch changed into two ecologically beautiful and full-featured river. The two-kilometer-long ecological corridor connects these two rivers, forming an ecological interweaving with blue-and-green belts, which provides a foundation for ecological sustainable development.<\/p>\n

With the successive completion of the construction of West District, more and more people are staying in the community. Through the development and upgrading of East District, our team hopes to enhance the diversity, convenience, specificity, and enjoyment of business. We want to integrate the \u201clittle things of life\u201d into the community daily routine, and create a commercial system of life and neighborhood that can generate and continue the “Ideal Life Memory”. Therefore, the east and west sides of Central Park are opened, and the two 15-meter driveways are turned into pedestrian blocks. Using the hinterland on both sides of Central Park, we create various styles of living business, and gradually construct the vibrant commercial district in Central Park.<\/p>\n

Under the premise of above planning, the Pulo Ideal Park Market has become the Neighborhood Vitality Business Version 2.0, symbolizing a new era of community vitality in the Pulo Ideal Land. In order to present a more complete and comprehensive effect, the architecture, landscape, interior design and operation teams have been tightly bound together from the early stage of planning. They have injected different components of energy into the market to help completing this multi-interface, mini-size but beautiful project. On the other hand, they also created an atmosphere model for the Yiwen East Street, a vibrant neighborhood commercial block.<\/p>\n

We attempted to solve the “little things of life” from the perspective of landscape, and finally focused on “creating an environment that can form memories”. People often don’t remember the specific time, but they can remember the taste of food, the scene, and the smell they felt at a certain time. This kind of point-like, fragmented memory is often unforgotten after many years and gradually becomes a part of the self-personality. We hope that such scattered but profound memories can be born in the Pulo Ideal Park Market. With unconventional methods, we get rid of performance-style design and nodes, and let the space return to the feeling of “people” itself, and furthermore making it a carrier of daily life and collective memory.<\/p>\n

The market ought to be initiated by nature, and the colors from the park should permeate and blend, so as to integrate the nature of all things and eliminate the majesty of the building, and furthermore creating a humanistic beauty above nature. Therefore, the landscape reorganizes the arrangement of trees along the street, so that the Chinese parasol trees are disconnected at the market section. Besides we used more detailed and penetrating Ginkgo trees to form a visual connection with the park. It seems that a touch of yellow in the park squeezes out a passage in the reddish brown along the street, laying out this same golden market.<\/p>\n

The market building is divided into parts, so that the space has a suitable openness for both inside and outside. Large area of light-transmitting glasses are used to let nature into the room. Through the planning of the indoor circulation, people can focus on the various interesting “things” of the market. Wandering and enjoying things at the same time, which gives people a chance to experience the “hustle and bustle” atmosphere of \u201cgan ji\u201d. The landscape uses ground materials to separate the outer street from the inner street. We deliberately compress the connection between the inner and outer streets, and at the same time widen the distance between trees at the main entrance to create the atmosphere of the entrance.<\/p>\n

In the other three interfaces of the market, we continued the forest-like atmosphere of the park. Plantings spread beyond the site, so as to construct the depth of field view where the plants are scattered. We aim to get rid of the influence of the construction site, and create a natural and immersive experience of the moment.<\/p>\n
