Farmerson Architects<\/strong><\/a>: Upon finishing the plan and design work for improvement facilities and tourist attractions of Shiquan Mountain, we intend to design an integrated service center for the Shiquan Village Scenic Area of Shiquan Mountain at the entrance. Situated behind the iconic Shiquan Mountain (also known as \u201cMaogong Mountain\u201d) in Liannan County and 0km from the downtown, Shiquan Village is a traditional village that keeps its natural state. This natural state is what we value highly.<\/p>\n

The construction site is envisaged to stand on the left of the entrance plaza and adjoin the car park, approaching the Shiquan Mountain circle walk and facing linearly spaced homes. Within the site is a relatively intact place surrounded by a few trees. We decide to place the building right here.<\/p>\n

\u521a\u5f00\u59cb\uff0c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5e08\u662f\u60f3\u628a\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5efa\u7b51\u201c\u6d88\u5931\u201d\u6389\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u623f\u5b50\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u73bb\u7483\u76d2\u754c\u9762\u52a0\u4e0a\u5c4b\u9876\u7684\u72b6\u6001\u3002\u53ef\u80fd\u6709\u7684\u50a8\u85cf\u548c\u8bbe\u5907\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u7528\u623f\u4e2d\u623f\u7684\u529e\u6cd5\uff0c\u5728\u73bb\u7483\u76d2\u91cc\u9762\u9760\u8fb9\u8bbe\u7f6e\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u7816\u76d2\u5b50\uff0c\u6574\u4e2a\u5efa\u7b51\u662f\u8f83\u7ec6\u7684\u94a2\u67f1\u652f\u6491\u8d77\u6765\u7684\uff0c\u5e72\u51c0\u800c\u7eaf\u7cb9\u3002<\/p>\n

Guided by the original intention of making the building \u201cinvisible\u201d, the building is supposed to adopt a covered glass box interface and the storage and equipment space is designed by the box in box method as a sidelined brick box in the glass box. The entire building supported by thin steel columns thus gives a clean and pure sense.<\/p>\n

The element of stair comes into our head.<\/p>\n

The designer encapsulates the stair in a square box so that the jagged stair is not seen in this horizontal and vertical building. When we later notice an existing tree next to the stair, we separate the upper and lower stairs and their boxes, place them on either side of the tree, and connect the resting platform, thus the tree is semi-enclosed. In this way, climbing stairs is like moving around tree from the root to the crown. It is same with the Tibetans\u2019 turning scripture; we are \u201cturning tree\u201d here: one seems to have a subtle relationship with the tree while moving. The small courtyard formed by a tree has generated an unexpectedly vivid effect on enriching the interior and exterior space penetration and light & shadow experience.<\/p>\n

For the purpose of cost effectiveness, applicability and robustness, the designer wants to make the rural construction simple and straightforward. Steel, glass and plain brick wall are thus the best choice at the moment. The stair is constructed by fair-faced concrete and some linear glass bricks. Upon completion, the extremely imprecise and rough fair-faced concrete properly mirrors the current state of rural construction.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the designer is more concerned with \u201cpoetic dwelling\u201d.<\/p>\n

In effect, the roughness-based construction shows the care and respect for the trees, the landscape and the human activities envisaged in the design, thus the designer and the roughness in construction have come to accommodation.<\/p>\n

\u6784\u601d\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5c0f\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u65f6\u5019\uff0c\u6b63\u503c\u65b0\u51a0\u75ab\u60c5\u7206\u53d1\u540e\u76842020\u5e744\u6708\u3002\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5e08\u623f\u6728\u751f\u4ece\u5e7f\u4e1c\u73b0\u573a\u56de\u5230\u5317\u4eac\uff0c\u83ab\u540d\u88ab\u81ea\u9694\u79bb\u7684\u793e\u533a\u7ba1\u7406\u90e8\u95e8\u5f3a\u8feb\u53bb\u9152\u5e97\u9694\u79bb\u3002\u623f\u6728\u751f\u6839\u636e\u73b0\u573a\u7167\u7247\u5728Ipad\u4e0a\u7ed8\u5236\u8349\u56fe\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u5728\u9694\u79bb\u9152\u5e97\u5185\u505a\u4e86\u4e00\u7cfb\u5217\u201c\u6297\u5f79\u540d\u753bCosplay\u6311\u6218\u201d\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\u827a\u672f\uff0c\u5f15\u53d1\u4e86\u670b\u53cb\u5708\u7684\u56f4\u89c2\u3002\u8fd9\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5728\u75ab\u60c5\u4e2d\u6784\u601d\u5efa\u9020\u7684\u5c0f\u5efa\u7b51\uff0c\u5b83\u7684\u901a\u900f\u3001\u5f00\u653e\u3001\u7b80\u6d01\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u5bf9\u81ea\u7136\u6811\u6728\u7684\u70ed\u7231\u5171\u751f\u72b6\u6001\uff0c\u4e0e\u75ab\u60c5\u4e2d\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u88ab\u9694\u79bb\u3001\u5c01\u95ed\u3001\u590d\u6742\u548c\u4eba\u4e0e\u4eba\u4e4b\u95f4\u7d27\u5f20\u7684\u63a5\u89e6\u5173\u7cfb\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u5f3a\u70c8\u5bf9\u6bd4\u3002\u4e09\u5e74\u7684\u201c\u6297\u5f79\u6597\u4e89\u201d\u7ec8\u4e8e\u7ed3\u675f\u4e86\uff0c\u8c28\u4ee5\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5c0f\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u53d1\u8868\uff0c\u81f4\u656c\u901d\u53bb\u7684\u4e09\u5e74\u65f6\u95f4\uff0c\u8fce\u63a5\u7f8e\u597d\u7684\u672a\u6765\u3002<\/p>\n

The building was conceived in April 2020, just after the outbreak of COVID-19. When returning Beijing from the construction site in Guangdong, the designer Fang Musheng was inexplicably forced into hotel quarantine by the community management department, where he sketched on Ipad based on the site photos and did a series of performance art concerning \u201canti-pandemic painting cosplay challenges\u201d which attracted a crowd of onlookers on WeChat. This building is conceived in the midst of the pandemic. Its transparency, openness, simplicity, as well as love and symbiosis for natural trees contrast sharply with the isolation, confinement, complexity and interpersonal tension during the pandemic. The three-year \u201canti-pandemic war\u201d is finally at an end. With the publication of this building, we pay tribute to the three years that have passed and greet the bright future.<\/p>\n
