The Lab Saigon<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aDe La S\u00f3l\/Shadow\u9879\u76ee\u4f4d\u4e8e\u8d8a\u5357\u80e1\u5fd7\u660e\u5e02\uff0c\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u7531\u5c55\u89c8\u5385\u3001\u5496\u5561\u9986\u4f11\u606f\u5ba4\u3001\u96f6\u552e\u5c55\u793a\u548c\u6c38\u660e\u4eba\u5bff\u4fdd\u9669\uff08\u672c\u9879\u76ee\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u6295\u8d44\u8005\uff09\u7684\u5ba2\u6237\u4f53\u9a8c\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7ec4\u6210\u7684\u6df7\u5408\u6982\u5ff5\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002<\/p>\n

\u8bbe\u8ba1\u56e2\u961f\u4ee5\u201c\u589e\u957f\u201d\u4e3a\u7406\u5ff5\uff0c\u5728\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e2d\u7f6e\u5165\u4e86\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u4f53\u91cf\uff0c\u65e2\u4ee3\u8868\u4e86\u6c38\u660e\u4eba\u5bff\u4fdd\u9669\u7684\u54c1\u724c\u5b97\u65e8\uff0c\u4e5f\u8c61\u5f81\u7740\u80e1\u5fd7\u660e\u5e02\u6b63\u5728\u84ec\u52c3\u53d1\u5c55\u3002<\/p>\n

The Lab Saigon<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aDe La S\u00f3l \/ Shadow is a mixed concept space in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A fluid intersection of exhibition halls, cafe lounge, retail displays, and client experience center of Sun Life Insurance (also the primary investor).<\/p>\n

The Lab drew inspiration from the idea of growth \u2014 both a reference to Sun Life\u2019s brand promise and the flourishing Ho Chi Minh City \u2014 to design different volumes in the space.<\/p>\n

\u8bbe\u8ba1\u4fdd\u7559\u4e86\u4e00\u5ea7\u522b\u5885\u7684\u539f\u59cb\u7ed3\u6784\u548c\u5386\u53f2\u5143\u7d20\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u878d\u5165\u4e86\u65b0\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5143\u7d20\u3002\u65e7\u522b\u5885\u7684\u5916\u5899\u88ab\u5b8c\u6574\u5730\u4fdd\u7559\u4e0b\u6765\uff0c\u4e0e\u4e00\u4e2a\u7531\u94a2\u548c\u73bb\u7483\u7ec4\u6210\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u65b0\u7684\u4e24\u5c42\u7ed3\u6784\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u9c9c\u660e\u5bf9\u6bd4\uff0c\u5e76\u901a\u8fc7\u4e00\u4e2a\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u73af\u5f62\u697c\u68af\u8fde\u63a5\u8d77\u6765\u3002<\/p>\n

The design layers new elements in view of the old. The historical villa facade stands untouched, in contrast to a new 2-story structure of steel and glass, with both structure connected by an expressive loop staircase.<\/p>\n

\u5728\u8bbe\u8ba1\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u53d1\u73b0\u522b\u5885\u7684\u7ed3\u6784\u672c\u8eab\u662f\u4ee4\u4eba\u7740\u8ff7\u7684\u3002\u56e2\u961f\u62c6\u9664\u4e86\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u591a\u5c42\u6cb9\u6f06\u7070\u6ce5\uff0c\u8fc7\u53bb\u7684\u62f1\u95e8\u3001\u6bcf\u6b21\u7ffb\u65b0\u6240\u4f7f\u7528\u7684\u5404\u79cd\u7816\u77f3\u4ee5\u53ca\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u767e\u5e74\u5386\u53f2\u90fd\u9010\u6e10\u88ab\u663e\u9732\u51fa\u6765\u3002\u8fd9\u5ea7\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u5386\u53f2\u88ab\u954c\u523b\u5728\u6bcf\u4e00\u5757\u7816\u4e0a\uff0c\u5b83\u4eec\u4e5f\u662f\u8fd9\u5ea7\u57ce\u5e02\u6587\u5316\u9057\u4ea7\u7684\u89c1\u8bc1\u3002<\/p>\n

A captivating discovery during the design process was of the old villa’s structure itself. After removing multiple paint-plaster layers outside, arch gates from the past, various brick types used in each renovation, and the building’s century-old history, were all revealed. The building’s history is etched into every brick, a testament to the city’s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

Material selection is informed by the villa. Keeping the original brickwork and wooden beams, the designers chose stainless steel for visual contrast and durability through Vietnam\u2019s rainy season.<\/p>\n

The outdoor deck, framed by the loop staircase, provides a focal point for gatherings, providing a multi-use lobby for the various programs at De La Sol. The staircase, in turns, becomes a viewing deck to the different activities happening below and around it.<\/p>\n
