From libraries and bookstores to urban bookstores, the service mode and reading philosophy have changed, but the warmth and depth of cultural services remain the same. As a new type of public cultural space, the “small but beautiful” urban bookstore is becoming a new trend in refined communities, a new highlight of cultural life.<\/p>\n

This time, Sunyat was invited to reactivate a previously abandoned ground-floor space on Xingle Road, transforming it into a multi-functional urban bookstore that includes a city living room, public book house, and boutique coffee, driving the cultural and commercial atmosphere of the entire area and injecting new vitality into the community.<\/p>\n

There are many high-end residential areas around and it is close to the Shanghai American School.<\/p>\n

The “14th Five-Year Plan” for the Hongqiao International Open Hub Central Business District proposes to promote the construction of a new generation of international communities, create a well-functioning quality living circle, and build a high-quality livable and business-friendly international community. However, Xingle Road is currently lacking in vitality, and the outdated facilities on the street seem incompatible with the positioning of the international fashion district of the Hongqiao Business District, and urgently need to be upgraded and renovated.<\/p>\n

This time, the architects of Sunyat have proposed a new proposal for community life scenes by integrating keywords such as “business, leisure, openness, community, and affinity”. By introducing a city library into the community, we can inject new value into the area, enhance the regional cultural and commercial atmosphere, create more public leisure space and social opportunities for the city, and form a brand-new interactive living space on the urban interface.<\/p>\n

The design of this bookstore signage takes the concept of a “soul station”, creating a dynamic urban landscape reminiscent of an electrocardiogram on the fa\u00e7ade, breaking the inherent “static, focused, and solidified” stereotypes of traditional bookstore spaces.<\/p>\n

The design cleverly combines light strips with the material seal, avoiding a long and dull facade, greatly improving the bookstore’s recognition, and conveying a sense of warmth and affinity to people.<\/p>\n
