style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">Just before May 1st, 2017, Mr. Wang, the museum director who had vetoed more than 20 rounds of unsuccessful proposals, approached me with a request. He hoped that I could come up with a proposal that would truly capture the essence of Changchun. My career has always revolved around such urgent appeal, yet I gladly accept the challenge. Changchun was a foreign city to me, thus, I strive to embark on the brilliance within the fragments of the city\u2019s history.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">\u25bd\u5730\u4e0b\u4e8c\u5c42\u901a\u9ad8\u5c55\u5385\uff08\u5357\u4fa7\uff09 Double-height Exhibition Hall (South side)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a 160px;\">\u4f2a\u6ee1\u7687\u5bab\u5360\u5730\u5e76\u4e0d\u5927\uff0c\u4ee5\u81f3\u4e8e\u6211\u89c9\u5f97\u8fd9\u662f\u4e2a\u8fc7\u6e21\u7687\u5bab\uff0c\u4f46\u5efa\u9020\u5374\u5f88\u8bb2\u7a76\uff0c\u5927\u5c4b\u9876\u7ed3\u5408\u6d0b\u98ce\uff0c\u53e4\u5178\u4e3b\u4e49\u5f62\u5236\uff0c\u88c5\u9970\u8282\u5236\u800c\u7cbe\u81f4\u3002\u9f50\u5eb7\u5927\u5e08\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u767d\u8272\u4e1c\u5317\u6ca6\u9677\u53f2\u9648\u5217\u9986\u5219\u8fdc\u8fdc\u77d7\u7acb\u5728\u4f2a\u6ee1\u7687\u5bab\u535a\u7269\u9662\u7684\u4e1c\u5317\u89d2\uff0c\u7f13\u7f13\u7684\u5761\u5c4b\u9876\u4f4e\u4e8e\u7687\u5bab\u6b63\u810a\uff0c\u975e\u5e38\u8c26\u865a\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-0\">Fragments: symbols, metaphors, parallels and others <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"1-0\">Changchun, in its bygone days, held the esteemed position of being the most developed city in East Asia. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"1-1\"> Presently, it remains a pivotal industrial center, resonating with echoes of its former grandeur. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"1-2\"> Its inherent pride radiates an unwavering optimism, refusing to surrender.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"3-0\">The palace of the Manchurian Regime doesn\u2019t occupy much area, so much so that it gives me an impression of a transitional palace. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"3-1\"> However, its construction exhibits meticulous attention to details, as the grand roofs harmoniously merge Western classical elements with restrained yet exquisite ornamentations. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"3-2\"> Standing at the northeastern corner of the palace, the white Museum of the History of Northeast China Under Japanese Occupation, designed by Master Qi Kang, features a gently sloping roof that bows beneath the palace\u2019s principal ridge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-0\">I gathered these fragmented pieces into the preceding text. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-1\"> To maintain the stable landscape of the museum, I believe the art museum should adopt a more modest approach. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-2\"> With this in mind, I have concealed the art museum, avoiding any alteration to the established ambiance above. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-3\"> Considering both the palace and exhibition hall follow conventional structures, I have decided to introduce the large-span structure commonly found in industrial buildings, creating vast interior spaces to effectively showcase the city\u2019s inherent pride.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"2-0\">I have decided to embrace elegant curves and employ a series of rhetorical devices such as symbolism, metaphor, and association to convey the resolution of the great city\u2019s pursuit of reviving her former grandeur in this new era. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"2-1\"> Simultaneously, the art museum serves as a contemporary expressionist sanctuary that liberates our souls from the constant grip of time in our style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-0\">What fascinates me about museums is that they have transcended beyond mere chronicles and portrayal of human historical achievements. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-1\"> The word \u201cmuseum\u201d has been given new meanings way deeper than collections of art. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-2\"> Nowadays, museums should delve deeper into the 4.6 billion years history of Earth to search for the true meaning of life and its relativity with time. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-3\"> Different temporal scales give rise to different perspectives on history. <\/span><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-4\"> This is what I call \u201cDeep Time\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><span class=\"src\" data-group=\"0-4\">When envisioning the space, I aimed to utilize the underground structure as a starting point to convey the sense of \u201cdepth\u201d. I also wanted to challenge our conventional mindset of a linear timeline by introducing an immense scale that would disorient viewers. Ultimately, I established central focal points in the form of a wing-shaped swept surface dome as spatial nodes, 27.5m in length, 18m in width, with a peak height of 16.5m. The entire museum consists of three of these spatial nodes connected together, through which I sought to guide visitors in understanding the intricate connections between, life, history, environment, and society in the theme of Deep Time. class=\"src\" data-group=\"4-2\"> Eyes bear a conspicuous symbolic significance and amplify the role of natural light in shaping the viewers&#8217; encounters and interpretations. <\/span><span The multitudes, unrestricted by the confines of place, and their diverse and ever-changing perceptions in disparate moments, embody the essence of eternity.
