\u00a0de Reus Architects<\/a><\/strong>: Local agricultural vernacular and a minimalist concept drove the design of the Big Wood Residence, situated just south of Sun Valley, Idaho. This home for Mark de Reus and his family celebrates the career of its architect, who incorporated lessons from thirty-five years of practice into this, his most personal work. The project features themes that our firm is known for\u2014 innovation, unpredictability, clarity of design, the use of natural materials, careful detailing and craftsmanship, and livability. \u00a0Most significantly, the design has a simplicity that belies its complexity.<\/p>\n

\u4f4f\u5b85\u7531\u4e24\u79cd\u7b80\u5355\u7684\u5b9e\u7528\u5efa\u7b51\u5f62\u5f0f\u7ec4\u6210\uff1a\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e24\u5c42\u7684\u519c\u7528\u8c37\u4ed3\u5f62\u5f0f\u7684\u5c45\u4f4f\u533a\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u8f66\u5e93\u3001\u50a8\u85cf\u5ba4\u548c\u9732\u53f0\u7684\u5e73\u9876\u7ed3\u6784\u3002\u5b83\u7684\u4e24\u5c42\u5305\u542b 3665 \u5e73\u65b9\u82f1\u5c3a\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\uff1a\u4e00\u5c42\u662f\u8d77\u5c45\u5ba4\u3001\u53a8\u623f\u548c\u4e3b\u4eba\u5957\u623f\uff0c\u4e8c\u5c42\u662f\u5a31\u4e50\u5ba4\u548c\u4e24\u95f4\u5367\u5ba4\u3002\u4e00\u6247\u4e24\u5c42\u697c\u9ad8\u7684\u7a97\u6237\u7167\u4eae\u4e86\u4e1c\u9762\u7684\u5165\u53e3\u548c\u697c\u68af\uff1b\u5728\u6f06\u9ed1\u7684\u591c\u665a\uff0c\u5b83\u5c31\u50cf\u4e00\u76cf\u6e29\u6696\u7684\u706f\u7b3c\u3002\u897f\u9762\u5899\u4e0a\u7684\u5927\u7a97\u6237\u8ba9\u4eba\u4eec\u53ef\u4ee5\u6b23\u8d4f\u5230\u65e5\u843d\u65f6\u5206\u4f4d\u4e8e\u5730\u5757\u540e\u65b9\u7684\u5927\u6728\u6cb3\uff08Big Wood River\uff09\u3002<\/p>\n

The home consists of the simple shapes of two practical building forms: a two-story agricultural barn form for the living areas, and an engaged flat-roofed structure for the garage, storage, and terrace. Its two floors contain 3,665 square feet of space: living room, kitchen, and master suite on the ground floor, and recreation room and two bedrooms on the second. A two-story window lights the eastern entrance and stairway; it is designed to appear like a warm welcoming lantern on a dark night. Large windows on the western wall offer sunset views toward the Big Wood River at the rear of the lot.<\/p>\n

\u4e3a\u4e86\u4e0e\u5360\u57307\u82f1\u4ea9\u7684\u6768\u6811\u6797\u76f8\u534f\u8c03\uff0cde Reus \u9009\u62e9\u4e86\u6df1\u8272\u4f5c\u4e3a\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u5916\u5899\u989c\u8272\uff1a\u9ed1\u8272\u7684\u9053\u683c\u62c9\u65af\u51b7\u6749\u6728\u58c1\u677f\u3001\u77f3\u58a8\u7070\u8272\u7684\u7acb\u7f1d\u91d1\u5c5e\u5c4b\u9876\u3001\u9ed1\u8272\u7684\u94dd\u5408\u91d1\u7a97\u6237\u548c\u9ed1\u8272\u7684\u91d1\u5c5e\u8f66\u5e93\u95e8\u3002 \u5ba4\u5185\u7684\u6c1b\u56f4\u662f\u73b0\u4ee3\u6728\u5c4b\u7684\u6c1b\u56f4\uff1a\u4f7f\u7528\u4e61\u6751\u98ce\u683c\u7684\u6a61\u6728\u5730\u677f\uff0c\u767d\u677e\u6728\u5782\u76f4\u6d82\u62b9\u6d45\u8272\u9970\u9762\uff0c\u65e2\u80fd\u663e\u793a\u6728\u6750\u7684\u7eb9\u7406\uff0c\u53c8\u80fd\u9632\u6b62\u7d2b\u5916\u7ebf\u7167\u5c04\u3002\u8d77\u5c45\u5ba4\u5185\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a\u9ed1\u8272\u7684\u94a2\u5236\u58c1\u7089\uff0c\u82b1\u5c97\u5ca9\u77f3\u6750\u4e0e\u5f53\u5730\u7684\u82b1\u5c97\u5ca9\u76f8\u5f97\u76ca\u5f70\u3002<\/p>\n

To harmonize and complement the aspen forest setting that dominates the 7-acre site, de Reus chose dark colors for the building\u2019s exterior: black-stained Douglas Fir wood siding, graphite gray standing seam metal roof, black aluminum-clad windows, and a black metal garage doors. \u00a0\u00a0The interior atmosphere is one of a modern cabin: with the use of rustic oak flooring, vertically applied white pine with a light finish that shows the grain but protects the wood from ultraviolet light. A blackened steel fireplace commands the living room, and a granite stone that compliments the local granite.<\/p>\n

\u8be5\u4f4f\u5b85\u7684\u4e00\u4e9b\u7ec6\u8282\u662f\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5e08\u7684\u5bb6\u4eba\u7279\u522b\u8981\u6c42\u7684\u3002De Reus \u7684\u59bb\u5b50\u60f3\u8981\u4e00\u6247\u8c37\u4ed3\u95e8\uff0c\u4ed6\u5c31\u5728\u5316\u5986\u95f4\u548c\u8f66\u5e93\u91cc\u5b89\u88c5\u4e86\u8fd9\u6247\u95e8\uff0c\u4ed6\u7684\u5973\u513f\u5219\u8981\u6c42\u5728\u5367\u5ba4\u91cc\u5b89\u88c5\u4e00\u4e2a\u9760\u7a97\u7684\u5ea7\u6905\u3002<\/p>\n

Some of Big Wood Residence\u2019s details came as special requests from his family. De Reus\u2019s wife wanted a barn door, which he included in the powder room and garage, and his daughter asked for a window seat in her bedroom.<\/p>\n

\u5176\u4ed6\u7ec6\u8282\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u662f\u4e3a\u4e86\u5728\u73b0\u4ee3\u5316\u7684\u8c37\u4ed3\u5efa\u7b51\u548c\u5c71\u533a\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\u8425\u9020\u4e00\u5ea7\u73b0\u4ee3\u5f0f\u6728\u5c4b\u3002Mark \u6700\u559c\u6b22\u7684\u4e00\u4e9b\u7ec6\u8282\u5305\u62ec\uff1aAlison Berger \u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u9910\u684c\u73bb\u7483\u540a\u706f\uff0c\u5b83\u5bd3\u610f\u7740\u8fd9\u91cc\u66fe\u662f\u592a\u9633\u8c37\u5c0f\u5c4b\u4ece\u5929\u7136\u6cc9\u6c34\u4e2d\u5207\u5272\u51b0\u5757\u7684\u5730\u65b9\uff1bPeter Zumthor \u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u53a8\u623f\u540a\u706f\uff1b\u9ed1\u8272\u7684\u751f\u9508\u94a2\u6750\u4e0e\u5929\u7136\u82b1\u5c97\u5ca9\u7684\u642d\u914d\u4f7f\u7528\uff1b\u6b64\u5916\u8fd8\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a\u7a81\u51fa\u7684\u7ec6\u8282\u8bbe\u8ba1\uff0c\u5373\u58c1\u7089\u67b6\u4e0a\u4f38\u51fa\u7684\u94a2\u67b6\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u4e3a de Reus \u5728\u5370\u5ea6\u5c3c\u897f\u4e9a\u5c45\u4f4f\u65f6\u83b7\u5f97\u7684\u5df4\u5398\u5c9b\u8f9b\u52a0\u96d5\u5851\u800c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

Other details were developed to support the modern cabin within a modern barn architecture and the mountain setting. Some of Mark\u2019s favorite details include the Alison Berger cast-glass dining light pendant which speaks to the site\u2019s history as a place where block ice was cut from the natural springs for the Sun Valley lodge; the Peter Zumthor designed light pendants over the kitchen island; the use of blackened and rusted steel alongside natural granite; \u00a0One prominent detail\u2014a steel shelf projecting from the fireplace mantel\u2014was designed for a sculpture of Balinese Singa that de Reus acquired when he lived in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
