DS Landscape Architecture<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aYunlan Hou courtyard is in Jiaozuo City Xiuwu County Yuntai Mountain scenic area. As a homestay guesthouse project, with the mountain as the background, we hope to create a simple and natural environment that could bring people back to nature. During staying, one can unload the burden of life, keep away from the noise of the city and enjoy the simplicity of life.<\/p>\n

01.\u4e3b\u5ba2\u6709\u5e8f\uff0c\u5fc3\u5b58\u656c\u754f In awe of the Mountain as the Host<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u4e91\u53f0\u5c71\u7ef5\u5ef6\u51e0\u767e\u516c\u91cc\uff0c\u5728\u4e0d\u65ad\u53d8\u8fc1\u7684\u5730\u7403\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\uff0c\u6216\u8bb8\u5df2\u7ecf\u5b58\u5728\u51e0\u4ebf\u5e74\u4e4b\u4e45\uff0c\u76f8\u6bd4\u4e8e\u53ea\u6709\u51e0\u5343\u5e74\u7684\u4eba\u7c7b\u5386\u53f2\u6765\u8bb2\uff0c\u5b83\u624d\u662f\u6b64\u5730\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u4e3b\u4eba\uff0c\u4e91\u5c9a\u9005\u9662\u76f8\u6bd4\u4e8e\u4e91\u53f0\u5c71\u7684\u5c3a\u5ea6\u4e5f\u662f\u5fae\u4e0d\u8db3\u9053\u7684\u3002\u9879\u76ee\u8d77\u59cb\u65f6\u6211\u4eec\u4fbf\u610f\u8bc6\u5230\uff0c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5e94\u8be5\u987a\u5e94\u573a\u5730\uff0c\u56e0\u52bf\u800c\u4e3a\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u8981\u505a\u7684\u662f\u53d1\u73b0\u573a\u5730\u4e4b\u7f8e\uff0c\u5bfb\u6c42\u4e0e\u52a0\u5f3a\u573a\u5730\u548c\u5927\u5c71\u7684\u5173\u7cfb\u3002<\/p>\n

Yuntai Mountain stretches for hundreds of kilometers and it may have existed for hundreds of millions of years. Compared with only thousands of years of human history, it is the real host of the place. Yunlan Hou courtyard is also insignificant compared with the scale of Yuntai Mountain. From the beginning of the project, we realized that the design should be adapted to the site and the environment. What we have to do is discover the beauty of the site and seek to strengthen the relationship between the site and the mountain.<\/p>\n

02.\u53d1\u73b0\u95ee\u9898\uff0c\u5bfb\u627e\u573a\u5730\u4e4b\u7f8e Find the problem, discover the beauty of the site<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u573a\u5730\u73af\u7ed5\u5efa\u7b51\u81ea\u7136\u800c\u6210\u897f\u3001\u5357\u3001\u5317\u4e09\u4e2a\u9662\u843d\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002<\/p>\n

\u897f\u9662\u6b63\u5bf9\u901a\u5f80\u666f\u533a\u7684\u4e3b\u5e72\u9053\uff0c\u662f\u672a\u6765\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u5165\u53e3\u3002\u8fd9\u91cc\u5730\u52bf\u6bd4\u5357\u9662\u9ad84\u7c73\uff0c\u5317\u4fa7\u67095\u68f5\u674f\u6811\u6210\u6392\u751f\u957f\uff0c\u6070\u597d\u4e0e\u5efa\u7b51\u5448\u5782\u76f4\u5173\u7cfb\uff0c\u5357\u4fa7\u4e5f\u6709\u4e24\u68f5\u674f\u6811\u957f\u52bf\u5f88\u597d\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u674f\u6811\u662f\u573a\u5730\u7684\u7075\u9b42\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u672a\u6765\u6491\u8d77\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u9aa8\u67b6\u6811\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u8bbe\u60f3\u8fd9\u4e2a\u9662\u5b50\u662f\u672a\u6765\u6e38\u5ba2\u521d\u89c1\u5927\u5c71\u7684\u5730\u65b9\uff0c\u5982\u4f55\u5c06\u5927\u5c71\u5c55\u73b0\u7ed9\u6e38\u5ba2\u6216\u8005\u8bf4\u6e38\u5ba2\u4ee5\u4ec0\u4e48\u65b9\u5f0f\u770b\u89c1\u5927\u5c71\u662f\u9700\u8981\u8003\u8651\u7684\u95ee\u9898\u3002<\/p>\n

The site is separated by the building into three courtyards-west, south and north.<\/p>\n

The West courtyard is directly opposite the main road leading to the scenic area and will be the main entrance. The site is 4 meters higher than the south courtyard, and there are 5 apricot trees growing in rows on the north side, which happens to be perpendicular to the building, and two almond trees growing well on the south side. These apricot trees are the soul of the site and the skeleton trees that will hold up the space in the future. We imagine that this courtyard is the place where future tourists first see the mountain. How to show the mountain to tourists or how tourists can see the mountain is a problem that needs to be considered.<\/p>\n

\u5357\u9662\u7d27\u90bb\u901a\u5f80\u6751\u843d\u7684\u4e3b\u9053\u8def\uff0c\u5b83\u4ee5\u5927\u5c71\u4e3a\u80cc\u666f\uff0c\u662f\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u671d\u5411\u9762\u3002\u6b64\u5730\u6b63\u5bf9\u4e00\u7247\u8302\u5bc6\u7684\u67cf\u6811\u6797\uff0c\u897f\u4fa7\u5185\u51f9\u5904\u662f\u90bb\u5c45\u5bb6\u5c71\u5899\u9762\u3002\u8fd9\u91cc\u88ab\u5927\u5c71\u5305\u88f9\uff0c\u4e00\u79cd\u9759\u8c27\u7684\u529b\u91cf\u611f\u4e3b\u5bfc\u7740\u6574\u4e2a\u9662\u843d\u3002<\/p>\n

The south courtyard, which is adjacent to the main road leading to the village, is in front of the main facade of the building with the mountain as the background. The area faces a dense cypress grove, and the west recess is a neighbor’s gable. Surrounded by mountains, a sense of quiet power dominates the courtyard.<\/p>\n

\u5317\u9662\u66f4\u9760\u8fd1\u5927\u5c71\uff0c\u5730\u52bf\u5317\u9ad8\u5357\u4f4e\uff0c\u6210\u7247\u7684\u674f\u6811\u6797\u8986\u76d6\u7740\u573a\u5730\u3002\u8fd9\u91cc\u662f\u8fde\u63a5\u5927\u5c71\u548c\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u7ebd\u5e26\uff0c\u66f4\u9002\u5408\u4eba\u8d70\u8fdb\u5927\u5c71\uff0c\u8d70\u8fdb\u81ea\u7136\u3002<\/p>\n

The north courtyard is closer to the mountains. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south with the apricot forest covers the site. This place is the link between the mountain and the building, a place for people to walk into the mountain, into the nature.<\/p>\n

\u770b\u89c1\u5927\u5c71\u2014\u2014\u88ab\u5927\u5c71\u5305\u88f9\u2014\u2014\u8d70\u8fdb\u5927\u5c71\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e09\u4e2a\u5ead\u9662\u7684\u6c1b\u56f4\u5df2\u7ecf\u660e\u786e\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u52aa\u529b\u514b\u5236\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6b32\u671b\uff0c\u5c3d\u91cf\u9000\u5230\u5e55\u540e\uff0c\u7528\u6781\u5c11\u7684\u8bed\u8a00\u53bb\u5efa\u7acb\u573a\u5730\u4e0e\u5927\u5c71\u7684\u5173\u7cfb\u3002<\/p>\n

\u7ecf\u8fc7\u7c97\u7cd9\u7684\u6bdb\u77f3\u666f\u5899\uff0c\u8d70\u8fc7\u56db\u6b65\u53f0\u9636\uff0c\u5608\u6742\u7684\u73af\u5883\u88ab\u9694\u79bb\u5728\u5916\u3002\u7f13\u7f13\u6b65\u5165\u94f6\u674f\u6797\uff0c\u900f\u8fc7\u7a00\u758f\u7684\u679d\u53f6\uff0c\u4f9d\u7a00\u53ef\u89c1\u4e91\u53f0\u5c71\u7684\u8f6e\u5ed3\u3002\u8e0f\u4e0a\u51f9\u51f8\u7684\u6bdb\u77f3\u53f0\uff0c\u611f\u53d7\u5230\u5927\u5c71\u808c\u7406\u7684\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u5c71\u7684\u96c4\u58ee\u8eab\u59ff\u4e5f\u6e05\u6670\u53ef\u89c1\u3002\u6f7a\u6f7a\u7684\u6d41\u6c34\u8bc9\u8bf4\u7740\u6b64\u5730\u7684\u5e7d\u9759\uff0c\u957f\u957f\u7684\u6c34\u6e20\u5f15\u5bfc\u4eba\u5728\u4e0d\u77e5\u4e0d\u89c9\u4e2d\u6b65\u5165\u5efa\u7b51\u3002<\/p>\n

Seeing the mountain – surrounded by the mountain – walking into the mountain, the atmosphere of these three courtyards has been defined. We tried to restrain our desire to design and to establish the relationship between the site and the mountain with very less constructions.<\/p>\n

After passing through the natural stone wall and the steps, the noisy environment was isolated from the inside. Slowly stepping into the ginkgo forest, through the sparse branches and leaves, the outline of Yuntai Mountain can be vaguely seen. Stepping onto the rugged natural stone terrace and feeling the texture of the mountain, the majestic posture of the mountain is also clearly visible. The gurgling water speaks of the tranquility of this place, and the long canal guides people unconsciously into the building.<\/p>\n

Five apricot trees are isolated by a white wall and serve as the background of the space. Apricot trees near the entrance are surrounded by natural stone terraces, highlighting the earthy character of the site. When one first came here and saw the part of Yuntai Mountain, the space could promote his curiosity to explore more about the mountain.<\/p>\n

The river stone wall and the white wall together form the entrance image. It is a contrast between fine and rough to complement each other. The trapezoidal lawn in the center of the site enhances the relationship between the site and the surrounding cypress forest through the principle of false perspective, and also visually expands the spatial feeling of the site. The cherry grove also becomes a time-out point during the blossom season.<\/p>\n

There is no wall in north courtyard, it is part of the south extension of the mountain. It is not a real courtyard, but more like a garden. In order to follow the trend of the elevation change, we use gravel and lawn to form a few terraces. In this way, visitors can enter the mountain more conveniently.<\/p>\n

Unlike traditional real estate projects, the owners are local farmers and the contractors are also local farmers. The construction process was extremely difficult since the local farmers do not understand the drawings and they have different perspectives of the project. The layout was even completed in a way that designers were tutoring the contractors. Least amount of earthwork, simplicity, and ease of doing were repeatedly mentioned. After pulling back and forth, we started to understand that it is difficult to be precise, and a \u201cwild\u201d way maybe the right way.<\/p>\n

We also wanted to use thick natural stones for the west courtyard. But because of the high cost and difficulty of construction, the owner once wanted to replace it with small green bricks. We insisted that if we replace it with small black bricks, the whole atmosphere will be greatly reduced, and we can not catch the sense of energy emanating from the mountain. After a stalemate, the owner finally found a kind of plate-like gray stone in the local area, and the final effect was relatively satisfactory.<\/p>\n
