Inspired by Singapore\u2019s culture, colours, and flavours, Artyzen Singapore is a modern lifestyle hotel for luxury travellers. Conceptualised as an oasis in the city, Artyzen Singapore offers an experience that is deeply ingrained with references to Singapore culture and architecture, its tropical climate, and its lush greenery. It is located along Cuscaden Road in the heart of the city and is just a stone\u2019s throw from the bustling Orchard Road shopping belt, major embassies, and minutes away from Singapore Botanic Gardens, the first UNESCO Heritage Site in the city state.<\/p>\n

\u739b\u4e3d\u522b\u5885\u7684\u8ff7\u4eba\u6bd4\u4f8b\u4e0e\u5468\u56f4\u7684\u73b0\u4ee3\u73af\u5883\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u9c9c\u660e\u7684\u5bf9\u6bd4\u3002\u5176\u4f4e\u5c42\u7ed3\u6784\u3001\u4eb2\u5bc6\u7684\u5c3a\u5ea6\u3001\u5ba4\u5185\u5916\u533a\u57df\u4e4b\u95f4\u7684\u8fc7\u6e21\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u4e0e\u5ba4\u5185\u88c5\u9970\u76f8\u5f97\u76ca\u5f70\u7684\u4f18\u96c5\u9ad8\u62f1\u7ed3\u6784\u3001\u6696\u8272\u8c03\u7684\u6750\u6599\u4ee5\u53ca\u6700\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u7ec4\u6210\u90e8\u5206\u2014\u2014\u5ead\u9662\u4e2d\u90c1\u90c1\u8471\u8471\u7684\u7eff\u8272\u690d\u7269\uff0c\u90fd\u4e3a\u65b0\u7684\u9152\u5e97\u8bbe\u8ba1\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u7075\u611f\u3002<\/p>\n

This iconic heritage landmark was once a sprawling tropical garden mansion named \u201cVilla Marie\u201d by the great-grandson of Singapore\u2019s well-known philanthropist, the late Mr Tan Tock Seng. Built in the 1940s, it had long been vacated in its original state, while the surrounding areas developed with high-rise structures.<\/p>\n

The contrast between Villa Marie\u2019s charming proportions and its modern surroundings could not be more apparent. The low-rise structure, intimate scale, transitional spaces between the indoor and outdoor areas, interiors complemented by elegant tall arches, the use of warm materials, and most significantly lush greenery in the courtyard, have all inspired the design of the hotel.<\/p>\n

\u9ad8\u9ad8\u7684\u5929\u82b1\u677f\u3001\u9633\u53f0\u3001\u90c1\u90c1\u8471\u8471\u7684\u5ead\u9662\u82b1\u56ed\u3001\u62f1\u95e8\u548c\u9676\u571f\u5c4b\u9876\u74e6\u7247\u7b49\u65e7\u7684\u5efa\u7b51\u5143\u7d20\u5728\u65b0\u7684\u9152\u5e97\u5efa\u7b51\u4e2d\u5f97\u5230\u4e86\u91cd\u65b0\u8be0\u91ca\u3002\u8fd9\u79cd\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u5f15\u5165\u4e0d\u4ec5\u5c06\u5efa\u7b51\u4e0e\u5176\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u73af\u5883\u8054\u7cfb\u8d77\u6765\uff0c\u8fd8\u91cd\u65b0\u5c55\u73b0\u4e86\u8fc7\u53bb\u4eba\u4eec\u5e94\u5bf9\u6c14\u5019\u7684\u667a\u6167\u65b9\u6cd5\uff0c\u800c\u8fd9\u4e9b\u667a\u6167\u5728\u4eca\u5929\u4f9d\u7136\u975e\u5e38\u91cd\u8981\u3002<\/p>\n

Embracing this unique past, the building massing is designed as villas stacked vertically, each with its garden being an extension of the landscape. Stacked vertically, these \u201csky villas\u201d create a unique architecture deeply ingrained in the tropical lushness of Singapore.<\/p>\n

Architecture elements, such as high ceilings, verandas, lush courtyard gardens, arches, and terra-cotta roof tiles, are reinterpreted in the new structure. This referencing not only connects the architecture to its unique context but also rediscovers the wisdom of climatic responses in the past which is still very relevant today.<\/p>\n

\u8fdb\u5165\u9152\u5e97\u5185\u90e8\uff0c\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u5782\u76f4\u6027\u5438\u5f15\u7740\u4eba\u4eec\u7684\u63a2\u7d22\u6b32\u671b\u3002\u4f4d\u4e8e\u7b2c 4 \u5c42\u548c\u7b2c 5 \u5c42\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u516c\u5171\u7a7a\u95f4\u9519\u843d\u6709\u81f4\uff0c\u5728\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e0a\u76f8\u4e92\u8fde\u63a5\u3002\u8fd9\u4e2a\u67b6\u7a7a\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u91cc\u7eff\u610f\u76ce\u7136\uff0c\u4e3a\u6e38\u5ba2\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e13\u5c5e\u7684\u82b1\u56ed\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002\u9ad8\u5904\u7684\u82b1\u69fd<\/span>\u4e0e\u5782\u5760\u7684\u8f6f\u666f\u76f8\u6620\u6210\u8da3\uff0c\u4ee4\u4eba\u4ece\u7e41\u534e\u7684\u90fd\u5e02\u666f\u8c61\u6df1\u6df1\u5730\u8fc7\u6e21\u5230\u90c1\u90c1\u8471\u8471\u7684\u7eff\u6d32\u4e4b\u5883\u3002\u955c\u9762\u5929\u82b1\u677f\u6620\u886c\u7740\u4e0b\u65b9\u7684\u7eff\u8272\u690d\u7269\uff0c\u8ba9\u4eba\u5982\u540c\u7f6e\u8eab\u4e00\u4e2a\u5f00\u9614\u7684\u82b1\u56ed\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002<\/p>\n

Moving into the hotel space, the verticality of space is explored. The main communal space at the 4th and 5th storey are staggered and connected spatially. This elevated space is laced with lush greenery, creating an exclusive garden space for its visitors. Coupled with high-level planters with draping softscape, one would experience the profound transition from a busy urban scape into a lush oasis. Finished with a mirrored ceiling reflecting the greenery below, one would experience a garden space that feels open to the sky.<\/p>\n

On the roof terrace level, the elevated communal space captures the duality of the urbanscape in Singapore. On one side is the dynamic scene of the Orchard Road shopping belt. On the other side is the serenity of the low-rise Nassim Hill area. A lap pool is slightly cantilevered from the building mass, serving as a focal point where these contrasting urban scenes can be enjoyed.<\/p>\n

\u9152\u5e97\u7684\u5efa\u7b51\u95e8\u7a97\u8bbe\u8ba1\u907f\u5f00\u4e86\u4e1c\u897f\u65b9\u5411\uff0c\u6700\u5927\u9650\u5ea6\u5730\u51cf\u5c11\u4e86\u70ed\u91cf\u548c\u592a\u9633\u7729\u5149\u3002\u7a7a\u4e2d\u9732\u53f0\u589e\u52a0\u4e86\u591a\u5b54\u6027\uff0c\u4f7f\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u5927\u90e8\u5206\u533a\u57df\u90fd\u80fd\u5b9e\u73b0\u81ea\u7136\u901a\u98ce\u3002\u5728\u5916\u5899\u56f4\u62a4\u7ed3\u6784\u4e0a\uff0c\u5efa\u7b51\u7ed3\u6784\u7684\u4e1c\u897f\u4e24\u4fa7\u5747\u91c7\u7528\u4e86\u94f8\u94dd\u677f\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u7565\u5fae\u51f9\u9677\u7684\u9762\u677f\u65e8\u5728\u63d0\u4f9b\u53cc\u5c42\u56f4\u62a4\u7ed3\u6784\uff0c\u51cf\u5c11\u592a\u9633\u8f90\u5c04\u70ed<\/span>\u3002\u5728\u6574\u4e2a\u5efa\u7b51\u7acb\u9762\u4e0a\uff0c\u5ba2\u623f\u7684\u9633\u53f0\u5916\u90fd\u94fa\u8bbe\u4e86\u94a2\u7f51\u7eb1\u7a97\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u7eb1\u7a97\u8ba9\u4eba\u8054\u60f3\u5230\u4e00\u4e9b\u4f20\u7edf\u5efa\u7b51\u4e2d\u7684\u7a97\u7eb1\uff0c\u65e2\u8d77\u5230\u906e\u9633\u7684\u4f5c\u7528\uff0c\u53c8\u80fd\u4fdd\u62a4\u5c45\u4f4f\u8005\u7684\u9690\u79c1\u3002<\/p>\n

The hotel is designed with building fenestration orientated to avoid the East and West direction, minimising heat and solar glare. The sky terraces enable porosity, allowing natural ventilation to most parts of the building. On the fa\u00e7ade enclosure, cast aluminium panels are cladded on the East and West sides of the building structure. These slightly concave panels are designed to provide a double skin envelope, reducing solar heat gain. Across the fa\u00e7ade, guest room balconies are lined with steel mesh screens. Reminiscent of the window screens from traditional shophouse typology, these screens serve as both shading devices and afford occupants privacy.<\/p>\n
