Reflecting the ethos conveyed by the \u201cShi\u201d series, we aim to create a community atmosphere that is artistic and relaxed, allowing residents to experience life amidst the natural charm and meticulous landscape design.<\/p>\n

01 \u5185\u5411\u5c45\u6240 Introverted Residence<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u6211\u4eec\u5e0c\u671b\u6c90\u62fe\u6709\u4e00\u4e9b\u76f8\u5bf9\u9690\u853d\u3001\u4e0d\u8981\u7279\u522b\u5927\u655e\u56db\u5f00\u7684\u611f\u53d7\uff0c\u8ba9\u4e1a\u4e3b\u56de\u5bb6\u65f6\u80fd\u6709\u4e00\u79cd\u5bfb\u89c5\u5f52\u5bb6\u7684\u610f\u5ff5\u3002\u9879\u76ee\u7684\u5165\u53e3\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6bd4\u8f83\u5185\u5411\uff0c\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u663e\u6027\u5316\u7684\u95e8\u5934\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u505a\u5f97\u6bd4\u8f83\u9690\u853d\u3002<\/p>\n

We hope Mushi offers a relatively secluded and not overly exposed feeling, allowing residents to have a sense of journeying home. The entrance design of the project is rather introverted, with no prominent gateway, instead, it is made to be quite discreet.<\/p>\n

The small entrance in the southern area, due to planning constraints, is designed to feel as open as possible within the limited space. It features a water body and a surrounding corridor. Beyond the ceremonial foyer, clean and neat corridors are interspersed with small pocket gardens, creating an external visual experience for the corridor.<\/p>\n

The project is bordered by a river and a riverside green space that is yet to be developed. The EVA and boundary treatments are quite intricate. In terms of planning, the project aims to integrate the riverside area as part of the entire larger community. The planning seeks to minimize the adverse impact of the fire access areas, and the public activities within the community are thus considered to be positioned around the periphery. The riverside green space will also be transformed into a wellness park for future use by the residents.<\/p>\n

\u56e0\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u89c4\u5212\u3001\u666f\u89c2\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u88ab\u5efa\u7b51\u5207\u5272\u7684\u8f83\u7ec6\u788e\uff0c\u5355\u4e2a\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u5c3a\u5ea6\u5e76\u4e0d\u5927\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8bd5\u56fe\u5bfb\u627e\u5230\u4e00\u6761\u666f\u89c2\u7684\u8f74\u7ebf\u3001\u5c06\u96f6\u788e\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e32\u8054\u8d77\u6765\u3002<\/p>\n

Due to the architectural layout, the landscape space is fragmented by the buildings, resulting in relatively small individual spaces. We aim to find a landscape axis to connect these fragmented spaces together.<\/p>\n

We use the linearity of plants and hardscape to delineate and interweave the spaces. The exterior entrance space is screened with greenery to create a more introverted entryway. Upon entering the larger community, the human-scale spaces feel relatively small. Therefore, while seeking spatial connectivity, we proposed the concept of “Water among the Woods”\u2014considering a few buildings as units situated on water bodies. The continuous water system is used to reflect the overall cohesion of the space.<\/p>\n

When we use landscaping to merge the spaces between these buildings, the interior of the water features winding garden paths lined with tall trees. These trees are planted close to the water and near the pathways, significantly diminishing the oppressive feeling caused by the buildings. This creates a spatial imagery of the \u201cWater among the Woods\u201d. As we walk through this area, we focus on the tree canopies, which soften the hard edges of the high-rise buildings. We then proceed alongside the water.<\/p>\n

03 \u5fae\u98ce\u8349\u576a Breezy Lawn<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u5728\u552f\u4e00\u7684\u659c\u5411\u7684\u89c6\u89c9\u901a\u5eca\u4e0a\uff0c\u666f\u89c2\u5e0c\u671b\u628a\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u8fd9\u79cd\u9650\u5b9a\u611f\u548c\u5c40\u4fc3\u611f\u6240\u6253\u7834\u3002\u5e76\u901a\u8fc7\u690d\u7269\u79cd\u690d\u7684\u7f1d\u8865\uff0c\u5728\u793e\u533a\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u611f\u53d7\u662f\u5f00\u653e\u7684\uff0c\u800c\u8fdb\u5165\u5230\u793e\u533a\u7684\u7b2c\u4e8c\u4e2a\u5b8c\u6574\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u91cc\u2014\u2014\u76f8\u5bf9\u8fdb\u6df1\u548c\u95f4\u8ddd\u90fd\u8f83\u5927\u7684\u4e00\u90e8\u5206\u3002<\/p>\n

In the only diagonal visual corridor, the landscape aims to break the sense of confinement and narrowness of the space. By interspersing plantings, the community space feels open, leading into the second complete space within the community\u2014a section with relatively greater depth and distance between buildings.<\/p>\n

\u6211\u4eec\u5e0c\u671b\u5229\u7528\u597d\u793e\u533a\u6700\u5f00\u655e\u7684\u90e8\u5206\u2014\u2014\u987a\u52bf\u628a\u8fd9\u4e2a\u7a7a\u95f4\u8fd8\u7ed9\u5f00\u653e\u7684\u8349\u576a\uff0c\u800c\u5b83\u4e5f\u4e0d\u662f\u5b64\u7acb\u5b58\u5728\uff0c\u8fde\u5e26\u65c1\u8fb9\u7684\u4e0d\u540c\u529f\u80fd\u7fa4\u843d\uff0c\u6cb3\u7554\u7684\u98ce\u7a7f\u8fc7\u697c\u5b87\u95f4\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4e5f\u56e0\u6b64\u53eb\u5b83\u201c\u5fae\u98ce\u8349\u576a\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n

We aim to make the most of the community’s most open area by turning this space into an open lawn. This lawn is not isolated but connected to adjacent functional clusters. The breeze from the riverside flows through the buildings, which is why we call it the “Breezy Lawn.”<\/p>\n

The Breezy Lawn also connects to the second landscape courtyard. We aim to use landscaping to integrate the scattered layout so that people can experience a cohesive landscape at eye level. Here, we provide open corridors that accommodate both movement and rest, rather than just being transitional spaces. Deliberately, we made the corridors winding and interspersed with more resting areas.<\/p>\n

\u8349\u576a\u671d\u5411\u513f\u7ae5\u7a7a\u95f4\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a\u591a\u529f\u80fd\u5eca\u67b6\uff0c\u9664\u4e86\u6ee1\u8db3\u513f\u7ae5\u533a\u7684\u770b\u62a4\u529f\u80fd\uff0c\u4e5f\u6574\u5408\u4e86\u5468\u8fb9\u573a\u5730\u7684\u9700\u6c42\u3002\u5eca\u67b6\u7684\u4e2d\u95f4\u90e8\u5206\u6cbf\u7740\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u5c71\u5899\u9762\uff0c\u5bf9\u4e8e\u7b2c\u4e94\u7acb\u9762\u4ece\u7a7a\u4e2d\u7684\u89c6\u89c9\u6548\u679c\u5f71\u54cd\u8f83\u4f4e\u3002<\/p>\n

Facing the children’s area, the lawn includes a multifunctional pergola that not only serves the supervision needs of the children’s zone but also meets the requirements of the surrounding area. The central part of the pergola aligns with the gable end of the building, minimizing its impact on the aerial visual effect of the fifth facade.<\/p>\n

04 \u8f7b\u677e\u660e\u5feb Relaxed and Bright<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u5728\u6bd4\u8f83\u5e72\u51c0\u5229\u843d\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u624b\u6cd5\u4e0b\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u7545\u60f3\u7684\u793e\u533a\u662f\u6587\u827a\u7684\u3001\u5c0f\u4f17\u53ca\u8f7b\u677e\u660e\u5feb\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

Using a clean and straightforward design approach, we envision a community that is artistic, niche, and relaxed and bright.<\/p>\n

Within the community, we use many 1.8-meter tall hedges to softly enclose spaces. These hedges, with their substantial form, are combined not only with hard landscape walls but also with soft plantings. In addition to the hedges, we incorporate many loose and soft plant layers, creating a scene that is both refined and relaxed.<\/p>\n

Mushi does not solely pursue natural wildness; in this residential area, our sense of refinement comes from a relaxed, leisurely vacation atmosphere. We have installed ceiling fans on our pergolas, making the outdoor resting and gathering spaces more comfortable.<\/p>\n

Next to the Breezy Lawn, there are some terraces equipped with lounge chairs and pergolas designed to accommodate family gatherings and activities like barbecues on weekends. The pergolas themselves feature large cantilevered spaces without structural columns, creating a highly open and transparent spatial experience. Our children’s activity area is designed to be very relaxed, using imported natural wood equipment to create a natural environment that encourages children to explore on their own. Adjacent to this area is a sensory garden, where children can be seen running and playing. This scene, typically found in parks or gardens, is instead part of our high-density residential community. The flexible and soft foundation of the community provides a rich and relaxed experience for a variety of people.<\/p>\n

Four or five years after the design was completed, as we look back at Mushi’s implementation and its interaction with customers, it aligns with our long-held vision of enduring landscape aesthetics.<\/p>\n

In this project, we avoided excessive decorative techniques and emphasis. Instead, we focused on creating a detailed and warmer experience at a more intimate and human scale. Despite the multiple possibilities for landscape expression, we still aim to understand and pursue long-lasting landscape aesthetics over time.
