Situated in the core area of Phoenix Lake\u00a0in Tongxiang, Jiaxing, this project benefits from exceptional urban lakeside resources.We aim to wield deconstructivism as a tool, grounding the “Champagne Era” in the site\u2019s inherent DNA and the cultural symbolism of the phoenix-perching wutong tree. This transforms it from a mere stylistic label into a manifestation of life philosophy.<\/p>\n

When roughness and refinement, cool tones and warm light, order and wildness achieve a delicate balance in the space, design transcends functionality and aesthetics, becoming a “vessel of time.”<\/p>\n

In the context of contemporary design, the dialogue between materials often surpasses their physical properties, becoming vessels for emotion and memory. We selected red travertine with its rugged texture to encounter the profound tranquility of Borg Green, while champagne gold lines delineate geometric boundaries. Thus, a narrative of “interwoven warmth and coolness” unfolds\u2014a romance emblematic of the Champagne Era and a symbiotic ode to nature and human craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

Light and shadow act as invisible hands here. At dawn, slanting sunlight casts dappled patterns on the stone surfaces, where the rough texture and warm hues evoke a primordial attachment to stone. After dusk, linear LED strips embedded in the stone crevices glow like simmering magma, with cool blue and warm orange light flowing through the folds. By letting the traces of time and natural erosion dominate the space, users feel as though they are stepping into a cross-section of color fusion.<\/p>\n

Red travertine, with its unpolished simplicity and geological memory, narrates the weight of time through its ochre-red veins resembling solidified magma, making it the most evocative storyteller in the space. At night, linear lighting embedded in the stone crevices mimics the glow of a hidden sun. The interplay of warm and cool tones breathes dynamic vitality into static materials, while geometric stone stools, scattered among wild trees in the courtyard, echo this dialogue.<\/p>\n

The floating staircase is the centerpiece of the sunken space. Defying gravity, its champagne gold framework pierces the space as a philosophical experiment on “lightness and weight.” The Borg Green surface reflects the verdant shadows of olive trees, making each ascending step feel like shattering a flowing emerald. Designers wove light into invisible threads: by day, sunlight filters through the stair gaps, casting delicate lattices and tree shadows on the ground; by night, warm-toned LED strips embedded in the handrails emit a soft glow. The spiral ascent creates an illusion of walking along the edge of a dream, where “solid light” merges with “liquid metal.”<\/p>\n

Tranquility here is a form of tension. The mirror-like water feature, resembling a perfectly cut piece of black jade, reflects the ever-changing sky and the floating staircase\u2019s graceful posture, creating a symphony of reality and illusion with its ripples. The stone textures mimic frozen waves, harmonizing with the actual water movements. At the pool\u2019s center, a floating platform and red travertine steps form a geometric cascade that approaches\u2014but never touches\u2014the staircase\u2019s final step. This design guides the senses toward a meditative gaze on “microscopic nature,” where each step unfolds a scene brimming with tension.<\/p>\n
