Drawing upon the Qinling Mountains as a spiritual totem, it translates the Eastern wisdom of “imitating mountains and modeling water”\u00a0into a contemporary setting.

Each piece is hand-polished by artisans and tempered in a thousand-degree furnace for 40 days, turning sand into jade, born of light. High temperatures and time sculpt ever-changing patterns, like hazy mountain shadows outlined by pristine ink brushstrokes, revealing a profound artistic conception in their delicate warmth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Making use of the sunken courtyard’s elevation, aged stones, sculpted by time, create a mountainous backdrop. Layer upon layer, they resemble the deep valleys and wintry branches of the painting. Clear springs cascade downwards, like the meandering flow of the cold spring over the plank bridge in the artwork. Ancient trees form a forest amidst the stones, and a waterfall pours down like a silver river, or like the murmur of a mountain stream. The fan-shaped fireplace draws inspiration from the tuanshan (round fan), a Chinese intangible cultural heritage. More than just aesthetic, it integrates deep symbolic meaning in its function and cultural resonance, encouraging visitors to release their fixation on ‘sitting.’ Instead, they might lean on the railing to listen to the stream or recline on a rock to observe the leaves.<\/span><\/p>\n
