MIND STUDIO<\/strong><\/a>: Beijing, a city steeped in layers of history and narrative, has been repeatedly cast as the embodiment of the “Orient.” However, this Oriental visage often clings to its past as the ancient capital of Beiping \u2013 a city boasting three millennia of construction and eight centuries as the nation’s capital. It’s a legacy writ large in history books, a majestic “landscape city” shaped by imperial order.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u4e8e\u662f\uff0c\u4e1c\u65b9\u7684\u60f3\u8c61\u5728\u6b64\u88ab\u56fa\u5316\uff1a\u5b83\u662f\u6545\u5bab\u7684\u7ea2\u5899\u91d1\u74e6\uff0c\u662f\u9890\u548c\u56ed\u7684\u5eca\u8170\u7f26\u56de\uff0c\u662f\u201c\u79fb\u5929\u7f29\u5730\u201d\u7684\u5b8f\u5927\u610f\u8c61\u3002\u5f53\u8fd9\u79cd\u5b8f\u5927\u9047\u4e0a\u9ad8\u5bc6\u5ea6\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u5f00\u53d1\uff0c\u201c\u5c71\u6c34\u201d\u4fbf\u6210\u4e86\u9065\u8fdc\u7684\u5962\u4f88\uff0c\u800c\u56de\u5f52\u65e5\u5e38\u7684\u5bb6\u5b85\u6587\u5316\u4e2d\uff0c\u4e1c\u65b9\u4eba\u5c45\u7684\u5c71\u6c34\u7cbe\u795e\u5374\u662f\u9762\u76ee\u6a21\u7cca\u3002<\/p>\n

Consequently, the Oriental imagination becomes fixed: the vermilion walls and golden roofs of the Forbidden City, the winding corridors of the Summer Palace, the grand illusion of “shifting the heavens and shrinking the earth.” When this grandeur collides with high-density urban development, “landscape” becomes a distant luxury. Within the everyday culture of the home, the spirit of landscape in Oriental living becomes blurred.<\/p>\n

\u4f46\u5728\u5317\u4eac\u57ce\u808c\u7406\u6df1\u5904\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u770b\u89c1\u4e86\u53e6\u4e00\u79cd\u4e1c\u65b9\u53ef\u80fd\u2014\u2014\u65e0\u9700\u6210\u4e3a\u4f9b\u4eba\u77bb\u4ef0\u7684\u98ce\u666f\uff0c\u65e0\u9700\u627f\u8f7d\u793c\u5e8f\u7684\u5b8f\u5927\u3002\u800c\u662f\u8403\u53d6\u5c71\u91ce\u7684\u6c14\u97f5\u3002\u66f4\u79c1\u5bc6\u3001\u66f4\u7597\u6108\u3001\u66f4\u8d34\u8fd1\u5bb6\u5b85\u4e1c\u65b9\u6587\u5316\u7684\u201c\u91ce\u9038\u201d\u4e0e\u201c\u5bc2\u9759\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n

Yet, deep within Beijing’s urban fabric, we glimpse another possibility for the Orient \u2013 one that needs neither to be a spectacle for admiration nor to bear the weight of ritualistic order. Instead, it extracts the essence of the wild. More intimate, more restorative, closer to the “wildness” and “quietude” of the Oriental home.<\/p>\n

\u9879\u76ee\u843d\u5740\u5317\u4eac\u4e30\u53f0\u533a\uff0c\u201c\u4e00\u73af\u4e09\u56ed\u56db\u5730\u6807\u3001\u6a2a\u4e03\u987a\u516b\u5341\u8857\u574a\u201d\uff0c\u5f97\u4f18\u4e8e\u53e4\u90fd\u7684\u57ce\u5357\u8179\u5730\u4e0e\u4eba\u6587\u6838\u5fc3\u3002\u4e30\u53f0\u7684\u5c71\u662f\u4f4e\u7f13\u53ef\u4eb2\u8fd1\u7684\uff0c\u5317\u5bab\u5c71\u7684\u7ea2\u53f6\u77e5\u79cb\uff0c\u666f\u5c71\u7684\u6625\u76db\u7261\u4e39\uff1b\u6c34\u662f\u6709\u8bb0\u5fc6\u7684\u6d3b\u6cdb\u2014\u2014\u6c38\u5b9a\u6cb3\u53e4\u6cb3\u9053\u7684\u6c34\u8109\u4ea4\u7ec7\u4e0e\u5317\u6d77\u9f99\u6f6d\u5bc6\u4e0d\u53ef\u5206\u3002\u65e0\u6709\u7687\u5bb6\u6c14\u6d3e\uff0c\u5374\u662f\u66f4\u8d34\u5207\u7684\u4e1c\u65b9\u751f\u6d3b\u573a\u666f\u3002<\/p>\n

Located in Beijing’s Fengtai District, the project benefits from its position in the city’s southern heartland, a cultural core distinguished by “one ring, three gardens, four landmarks, seven horizontal and eight vertical blocks, and ten neighborhoods.” The mountains of Fengtai are gentle and approachable, the crimson leaves of Beigong Mountain heralding autumn, the blossoming peonies of Jingshan announcing spring. The water here possesses a living memory \u2013 the waterways of the ancient Yongding River channel intertwine inextricably with the Dragon Pool of Beihai. Devoid of imperial grandeur, it is a more relatable scene of Oriental life.<\/p>\n

\u5bb6\u4e0e\u56ed\uff0c\u662f\u8fd9\u91cc\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u4e0e\u8bd7\u610f\uff0c\u5f53\u73b0\u4ee3\u57ce\u5e02\u4e0d\u65ad\u6324\u538b\u8fd9\u79cd\u201c\u4eba\u3001\u81ea\u7136\u3001\u5386\u53f2\u201d\u7684\u5171\u751f\u5173\u7cfb\u65f6\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8bd5\u56fe\u4ee5\u8bbe\u8ba1\u91cd\u6784\u56de\u5f52\u5f53\u4e0b\u4eac\u97f5\u5e95\u8272\u7684\u201c\u4e1c\u65b9\u5c71\u6c34\u4eba\u5c45\u201d\uff0c\u00a0\u5728\u5317\u4eac\u7684\u808c\u7406\u6df1\u5904\uff0c\u5bfb\u627e\u5e76\u521b\u9020\u4e00\u79cd\u66f4\u8d34\u8fd1\u7684\u4e1c\u65b9\u3002<\/p>\n

Home and garden intertwine, representing both life and poetry. As the modern city increasingly compresses this symbiotic relationship between “people, nature, and history,” we seek to use design to reconstruct an “Oriental landscape residence” that returns to the fundamental essence of Beijing. Deep within the city’s fabric, we aim to discover and create a more intimate form of Oriental living.<\/p>\n

The Interplay of “Exploration” and “Inner Resonance” in the Orient<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u4e0e\u897f\u65b9\u660e\u4eae\u3001\u70ed\u70c8\u5145\u6ee1\u7231\u4e0e\u601c\u60af\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u6c14\u606f\u5f62\u6210\u9c9c\u660e\u5bf9\u6bd4\uff0c\u5f53\u4ee3\u6f14\u7ece\u4e1c\u65b9\u6027\u7a7a\u95f4\u65f6\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u770b\u5230\u4e1c\u65b9\u4eba\u517b\u5fc3\u514b\u5df1\u7684\u54c1\u6027\uff0c\u6df1\u79c0\u5e7d\u8fdc\u7684\u610f\u97f5\u3002\u4e8e\u662f\uff0c\u5728\u4e30\u53f0\u4f4e\u5c71\u7f13\u6c34\u95f4\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u5728\u7e41\u534e\u4e2d\u6253\u9020\u4e00\u5ea7\u81ea\u7136\u7597\u6108\u5c71\u6c34\uff0c\u4e0d\u606f\u6d41\u52a8\u7740\u4eac\u97f5\u6587\u8109\u548c\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u4e1c\u65b9\u751f\u547d\u529b\u3002<\/p>\n

In stark contrast to the bright, vibrant, and compassionate spatial atmosphere of the West, contemporary interpretations of Oriental space reveal the qualities of self-cultivation and restraint, as well as a profound and secluded aesthetic. Thus, amidst the gentle hills and tranquil waters of Fengtai, we are crafting a naturally restorative landscape within the bustling city \u2013 a landscape that ceaselessly flows with the cultural pulse of Beijing and a unique Oriental vitality.<\/p>\n

\u6574\u4f53\u9aa8\u76f8\u662f\u53cc\u5c42\u4e92\u4e3a\u501f\u666f\u7684\u5782\u76f4\u7acb\u4f53\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u4e0b\u6c89\u4f1a\u6240\u6d6e\u5c9b\u4e2d\u5ead\u4e3a\u6838\u5fc3\uff0c\u800c\u56f4\u7ed5\u4e2d\u5ead\u5219\u7ed3\u5408\u9000\u53f0\u5f0f\u7684\u5e73\u9762\u5e03\u5c40\u9519\u52a8\u54ac\u5408\u5f62\u6210\u591a\u8fdb\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u4ead\u3001\u5eca\u7b49\u5efa\u7b51\u4f53\u91cf\u5982\u6563\u7f6e\u7684\u805a\u843d\uff0c\u5b83\u4eec\u65e2\u72ec\u7acb\u6210\u666f\uff0c\u53c8\u88ab\u540c\u4e00\u7247\u5ead\u9662\u6c14\u8109\u6240\u8054\u7ed3\uff0c\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u6df1\u9083\u5e7d\u8fdc\u7684\u00a0\u201c\u56ed\u4e2d\u4e4b\u56ed\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n

The overall framework is a double-layered, mutually borrowing, vertical and three-dimensional space. The sunken clubhouse and floating island atrium serve as the core. Surrounding the atrium, a stepped layout creates staggered, interlocking spaces, forming a series of courtyards. Architectural elements such as pavilions and corridors are scattered like settlements, each a distinct scene yet connected by the same continuous flow of the courtyard. This creates a deep and secluded “garden within a garden.”<\/p>\n

The spirit of Oriental landscape lies in its integration and freedom, unburdened by material constraints. To wander through this space is akin to being immersed within a mountain landscape. Through the twists and turns of the path, the rises and falls in elevation, the experience of “walking, observing, dwelling, and wandering” unfolds naturally. Nature is the protagonist of this flow. Light, wind, and greenery grow freely from branches and crevices. Pausing at different levels, the perspective shifts suddenly: gazing horizontally at pavilions across the way, looking down upon the foliage of the central courtyard, or looking up at the light and shadows of the sky. It is a vibrant, ever-renewing, and evocative image of a modern mountain forest.<\/p>\n

As an ancient saying goes, “The gate is the crown and belt of a dwelling.” In Oriental etiquette, the culture of the home’s entrance is especially emphasized. The movement of light and fragmented gold within the dark gold glaze, the facade clad in gold silk hemp and ruby marble, all draw upon the Oriental colors of Beijing \u2013 the cadence of cinnabar and the rhythm of silver. The entrance hall is wide and soaring, yet we deliberately dimmed the penetration of light in order to slow down the pace. As one steps from the bustling city into this subtle space, one sees only the warm light reflected by the marble, achieving a sense of ease and relaxation by weakening the light.<\/p>\n

Passing through the “mountain gate,” one’s gaze is drawn to an ancient, century-old crape myrtle, leaning gracefully. It blossoms from summer through autumn, while water flows along the base of a screen wall, the source of the garden’s vitality. The walls on either side leave a central space, creating a hazy sense of borrowed scenery, typical of Chinese gardens, where one can see through, but not walk through. The crape myrtle blossoms, illuminated by the light, adorn the wall. In the inner courtyard, a robust and gnarled Mount Tai pine stands, breaking through the courtyard, while a forged copper water feature reflects the light and shadows of the sky. Hand-chiseled marks, themed on the folds of natural mountains and rivers, allow the static water to carry the flow of time \u2013 a restrained and subtle profundity.<\/p>\n

Turning past another pavilion, one connects to another corridor. Fragrant Hills maple leaves and ancient trees with intertwined branches lead to the end, where the light and shadows of carved lacquer, red tiles, and mist intermingle. Each direction is different, presenting different changes in light and shadow. A balance is struck between heaviness and lightness, between the revealed and the transparent. The scenery shifts with the viewer’s perspective, reflecting from one place to another.\u00a0For a moment, one cannot tell whether it is the light of the sky illuminating the red maples, or the red maples reflecting the screen wall. The beauty of the Orient is hidden in the subtle details \u2013 the intertwining of branches and vines, the ambiguity of shifting light and shadow. One feels that ten thousand mountains are about to disappear, filling the twilight, beginning with the budding of spring.<\/p>\n
