Though the site covers less than a thousand square meters, it presented a complex web of spatial relationships and multiple challenges to resolve. Crafting a graceful solution to all these issues became a truly formidable test.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">\u25bd\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6d41\u7ebf\u56fe<\/p>\n<p><a current state of the site reveals several prominent challenges:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">1\u3001The school grounds share a wall with the adjacent residential building, which is aged and lined with exposed utility pipes.2\u3001A foundational retaining wall left from the old residential building straddles the center of the site and cannot be altered.\/3\u3001The existing stair retaining walls, formed by elevation changes, are worn and outdated in appearance.4\u3001The ground paving is severely damaged.5\u3001An old banyan tree on-site must be preserved, requiring thoughtful style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">Cultural Gallery<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">As the essential passage to the cafeteria, the node must first meet the rigid need for &#8220;efficient flow&#8221;: the original elevation changes and circulation paths are retained with minimal alteration, with only the ground paving updated. Along the shared wall with the residential building, we added a textured red-brick landscape wall that provides both sound insulation and visual harmony with the campus&#8217;s main red-brick structures. At eye level along the wall, a continuous cultural display panel is embedded to highlight the school&#8217;s history and culture, softly illuminated by narrow-beam spotlights from above, while a low bench at the base offers a place to pause briefly.
