iPD<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aWhat kind of commercial landscape does The\u00a0Shenzhen Bay need? A mere shopping destination, or a three-dimensional living field capable of symbiosis with the city and dialogue with nature?<\/span>The challenge became starkly clear during the first site visit: three east-west and one north-south municipal trunk roads cleanly dissected the project site into\u00a0six isolated islands. We faced not a blank canvas, but a scattered jigsaw puzzle.<\/span>Confronted with this “shattered blueprint,” traditional landscape design focused on decoration and beautification fell short. From the outset, the iPD team’s role evolved into that of\u00a0“weavers of the holistic environment.”\u00a0The core question shifted from “how to beautify” to\u00a0“how to suture and cultivate growth.”<\/span>Thus, the design philosophy of\u00a0“Weaving Landscapes into Networks, Boundless Symbiosis”\u00a0was born. It signifies that landscape is no longer just filler for plots, but an active, structural medium that connects fragments, weaves three-dimensional networks, and stimulates urban vitality. The goal is to construct a “boundless community” integrating ecology, commerce, art, and public life.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u7075\u611f\uff0c\u6765\u81ea\u4e00\u679a\u201c\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u751f\u547d\u201d\uff1a\u7f1d\u5408\u9700\u8981\u7ebf\u7d22\uff0c\u9700\u8981\u4e00\u79cd\u80fd\u5c06\u788e\u7247\u7c98\u8fde\u3001\u8ba9\u5f02\u8d28\u5171\u751f\u7684\u201c\u9ecf\u5408\u5242\u201d\u3002<\/span>\u8fd9\u4e00\u7406\u5ff5\uff0c\u4e0e\u81ea\u7136\u754c\u4e2d\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u5171\u751f\u751f\u547d\u2014\u2014\u5730\u8863\uff0c\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u5b8f\u89c2\u5c42\u9762\u7684\u7cbe\u795e\u5171\u9e23\u3002\u5730\u8863\u5728\u4e25\u9177\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\u5c55\u73b0\u51fa\u7684\u9002\u5e94\u6027\u3001\u5176\u5c06\u4e0d\u540c\u751f\u547d\u4f53\u878d\u5408\u4e3a\u5168\u65b0\u6574\u4f53\u7684\u5171\u751f\u667a\u6167\uff0c\u6070\u662f\u5bf9\u6b64\u9879\u76ee\u201c\u7f1d\u5408\u788e\u7247\u3001\u50ac\u5316\u5171\u751f\u201d\u613f\u666f\u7684\u8bd7\u610f\u9690\u55bb\u3002\u8bbe\u8ba1\uff0c\u65e8\u5728\u8ba9\u8fd9\u7247\u5546\u4e1a\u573a\u5730\u5982\u540c\u6709\u673a\u7684\u751f\u547d\u7f51\u7edc\uff0c\u7262\u7262\u9644\u7740\u4e8e\u57ce\u5e02\u808c\u7406\uff0c\u6301\u7eed\u751f\u957f\u3002<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspiration from an “Ancient Life”:\u00a0Weaving requires a thread, a “binding agent” that can adhere fragments and allow heterogeneous elements to coexist.<\/span>This concept resonates on a macro level with one of nature’s oldest symbiotic lives\u2014lichen. Lichen’s adaptability in harsh environments and its symbiotic wisdom in fusing different organisms into a new whole became a poetic metaphor for the project’s vision of “suturing fragments and catalyzing symbiosis.” The design aims to make this commercial site, like an organic living network, firmly adhere to the urban fabric and grow continuously.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Lichen Habitat” is not just a macro concept; it materializes as a series of subtle and intricate visual elements, naturally scattered throughout the site.<\/span><\/p>\n

These elements are not concentrated in one area but appear as if grown naturally\u2014on the surfaces of rest seating, the facades of custom planters, the details of bridges, and within paving seams\u2014becoming delicate threads that unify the spatial atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u5b83\u4eec\u7684\u5b58\u5728\u4e0d\u5f3a\u786c\uff0c\u5374\u65e0\u5904\u4e0d\u5728\uff0c\u4ee5\u6c89\u9ed8\u7684\u59ff\u6001\u8bc9\u8bf4\u7740\u201c\u65e0\u754c\u5171\u751f\u201d\u7684\u6545\u4e8b\uff0c\u5c06\u81ea\u7136\u7684\u8bd7\u610f\u6084\u7136\u7ec7\u5165\u5546\u4e1a\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u65e5\u5e38\u3002<\/span><\/p>\n

Their presence is unobtrusive yet ubiquitous, silently narrating the story of “boundless symbiosis” and weaving the poetry of nature into the daily rhythm of the commercial space.<\/span><\/p>\n

We meticulously translated the grand concept of “Lichen Habitat” into five tangible, walkable, touchable, and immersive spatial experiences, allowing visitors to embark on a sensory journey from high to low, from nature to metropolis.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u9ad8\u6d77\u62d4\u68ee\u6797\uff1a\u90fd\u5e02\u4e0a\u7a7a\u7684\u9759\u8c27\u6797\u51a0 High-Altitude Forest: A Serene Canopy Above the City<\/span><\/p>\n

\u8fd9\u662f\u8fdb\u5165\u573a\u5730\u7684\u7b2c\u4e00\u5370\u8c61\u533a\uff0c\u4e3b\u8981\u6307PTI\u5730\u9762\u53ca\u4e3b\u8981\u5165\u53e3\u5e7f\u573a\u3002\u6211\u4eec\u5851\u9020\u4e86\u4e00\u79cd\u5d07\u9ad8\u3001\u8212\u6717\u3001\u5145\u6ee1\u4eea\u5f0f\u611f\u7684\u68ee\u6797\u610f\u8c61\uff0c\u65e8\u5728\u4e3a\u90fd\u5e02\u4eba\u7fa4\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e00\u7247\u53ef\u6b65\u5165\u3001\u53ef\u6c89\u6d78\u7684\u4eb2\u81ea\u7136\u68ee\u6797\u4f53\u9a8c\u3002<\/span><\/p>\n

This forms the first impression upon entering the site, primarily referring to the PTI ground level and main entrance plaza. We crafted a\u00a0sublime, spacious, and ritualistic\u00a0forest imagery, aiming to provide urban dwellers with an accessible, immersive pro-nature forest experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trees as the Bones:\u00a0We extensively employed tall, pyramidal-canopy trees like\u00a0Terminalia muelleri. Soaring upwards, they quickly establish the spatial vertical framework and a clear skyline, resembling the tallest canopy layer of a forest, filtering sunlight and casting elongated shadows.<\/span><\/p>\n

Transitioning from the PTI towards the Green Valley, the ground level above the sunken valleys is termed the “Low-Altitude Forest.” The atmosphere here shifts from sublime to\u00a0approachable, soft, and immersive, aiming to create touchable, relaxing ground-level experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Groundcover as the Skin, Topography as the Valley:\u00a0This is the domain of\u00a0carpet-like groundcover plants. We selected species with fine texture and soft colors, such as\u00a0Leucophyta brownii\u00a0and\u00a0Ozothamnus diosmifolius, creating a pervasive green sea reminiscent of felt blankets. Gentle micro-topography forms gentle slopes and depressions, enhancing a sense of wildness and natural rhythm. These grassy slopes also serve as perfect bleachers for viewing the central scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

We visited botanical gardens in South China, consulted plant experts, surveyed local nurseries, and selected nearly 200 native species\u2014such as local trees like\u00a0Terminalia muelleri, Ormosia pinnata, Phoebe zhennan, Casuarina equisetifolia, and low-maintenance native groundcovers like\u00a0Leucophyta brownii, Ozothamnus diosmifolius. This not only ensured the resilience of plant communities in the local climate, reduced long-term maintenance costs, but also built the site’s unique ecological memory and regional identity.<\/span><\/p>\n
