We sought to embody Jeju\u2019s classical landscapes and the reflections born from them in a contemplative atmosphere unique to this place\u2014an ambiance that flows into its own sensibility and emotion. The narrative beauty of the land deepens the architecture with a quiet gradient of shadows, leaving an impression imbued with a calm and time-worn grace.

\u6211\u4eec\u5c06\u6b64\u5730\u547d\u540d\u4e3a\u201cWatar\u201d\uff0c\u4ee5\u627f\u8f7d\u8ffd\u6c42\u7f8e\u7684\u610f\u5fd7\u3001\u6e90\u81ea\u571f\u5730\u7684\u5b58\u5728\u672c\u539f\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u9759\u9ed8\u56de\u5f52\u672c\u539f\u7684\u59ff\u6001\u3002\u8fd9\u540d\u5b57\u4e2d\u56fa\u6709\u7684\u6001\u5ea6\uff0c\u81ea\u7136\u4f53\u73b0\u5728\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u6750\u6599\u6027\u4e0e\u611f\u6027\u4e2d\uff0c\u5c55\u73b0\u51fa\u4e00\u79cd\u6839\u690d\u4e8e\u81ea\u7136\u53c8\u5bfc\u5411\u5185\u5728\u7684\u7acb\u573a\u2014\u2014\u4e00\u79cd\u8574\u542b\u5185\u655b\u529b\u91cf\u7684\u5efa\u7b51\u59ff\u6001\u3002<\/p>\n

We named this place Watar to contain the will to pursue beauty, the origin of existence drawn from the land, and the attitude of quietly moving toward that origin. This attitude inherent in the name naturally manifests in the materiality and sensibility of the architecture, embodying a stance rooted in nature yet directed inward\u2014a posture of architecture that holds an inward force.<\/p>\n

At the far end of the space lies a bathing room, conceived in the spirit of Mok-yok Jae-gye* (\u6c90\u6d74\u9f4b\u6212)\u2014a ritual of purifying both body and mind\u2014becoming a place for Seong-ui Jeong-sim* (\u8aa0\u610f\u6b63\u5fc3), where one refines the heart with sincerity and integrity. This was born from the owner\u2019s approach to the space: a cultivated mindset of sincerity and moral clarity formed the foundation of the architecture, later extending into the way guests are welcomed and materializing in the spatial form of ritual cleansing. This bath, therefore, is not merely a space for hygiene but a place where the owner\u2019s ethos is translated into physical form\u2014a space of courtesy where guests may restore themselves to a state of clarity and tranquility. *Mok-yok Jae-gye (\u6c90\u6d74\u9f4b\u6212): a cleansing ritual to wash away impurities from body and soul. *Seong-ui Jeong-sim (\u8aa0\u610f\u6b63\u5fc3): a mindset of sincere intention and moral clarity.<\/p>\n
