marjan hessamfar & joe v\u00e9rons architectes<\/a>\uff1a<\/strong>In Pantin, the Sophie Germain school complex is part of the development momentum of the ZAC du <\/span>Port, a large-scale urban planning operation that repositions the Canal de l’Ourcq at the heart of the lives <\/span>of Pantin’s residents, and establishes itself as a major public facility in the transformation of this part of <\/span>the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a composite urban context, between the monumental presence of the Magasins G\u00e9n\u00e9raux, the fabric <\/span>of the neighbourhood and the recent constructions of the joint-development zone, the school <\/span>complex creates an urban continuity and establishes an appropriate dialogue between these different <\/span>scales, whilst also affirming a style that is both readable and integrated. This readability is expressed, <\/span>namely, through the choice of a warm, luminous, golden hue, and of an asserted materiality, made to <\/span>visually singularise the facility and establish its role as a structuring public edifice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Constrained by both the small buildable area of the parcel and by restrictions regarding unobstructed <\/span>views, the school complex has been designed as a compact and stratified volume on five levels. This <\/span>vertical organisation made it possible to clearly link the different entities of the brief whilst also <\/span>guaranteeing their functional autonomy. The courtyard of the primary school, installed on the roof, is thus <\/span>both a functional and symbolic response, transforming the roof into a genuine living space.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u6821\u56ed\u5efa\u7b51\u7fa4\u91c7\u7528\u5f53\u4ee3\u5efa\u7b51\u8bed\u8a00\uff0c\u65e2\u4e0e\u5468\u8fb9\u73af\u5883\u534f\u8c03\u7edf\u4e00\uff0c\u53c8\u5c55\u73b0\u51fa\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u4e2a\u6027\u3002\u7d27\u51d1\u7684\u4f53\u91cf\u901a\u8fc7\u4e24\u6761\u73bb\u7483\u957f\u6761\u8d2f\u7a7f\u5176\u4e2d\uff0c\u5c06\u81ea\u7136\u5149\u7ebf\u5f15\u5165\u5efa\u7b51\u6838\u5fc3\u533a\u57df\u3002\u9633\u6781\u6c27\u5316\u73bb\u7483\u4e0e\u94dd\u5236\u5e55\u5899\u8868\u9762\u9970\u6709\u906e\u9633\u677f\uff0c\u5f62\u6210\u865a\u5b9e\u4ea4\u66ff\u7684\u89c6\u89c9\u6548\u679c\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u5927\u9762\u79ef\u7684\u51f9\u5165\u5f00\u53e3\u6846\u51fa\u5916\u90e8\u666f\u89c2\uff0c\u4e5f\u8ba9\u4eba\u5f97\u4ee5\u7aa5\u89c1\u6821\u56ed\u751f\u6d3b\u7684\u7247\u6bb5\u3002\u4e00\u5c42\u5165\u53e3\u5927\u5385\u7684\u901a\u900f\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5ef6\u4f38\u4e86\u516c\u5171\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5f15\u5bfc\u4eba\u4eec\u81ea\u7136\u6b65\u5165\u6821\u56ed\u3002<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u5185\u90e8\u5e03\u5c40\u901a\u8fc7\u6e05\u6670\u800c\u6e10\u8fdb\u5730\u5206\u5e03\u5404\u4e2a\u6838\u5fc3\u529f\u80fd\u533a\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e00\u5c42\u5747\u4e13\u5c5e\u4e8e\u7279\u5b9a\u7684\u4f7f\u7528\u5b9e\u4f53\u2014\u2014\u5e7c\u513f\u56ed\u3001\u4f11\u95f2\u4e2d\u5fc3\u6216\u5c0f\u5b66\u3002\u4ece\u5e95\u5c42\u5bbd\u655e\u5f00\u653e\u3001\u96c6\u4e2d\u5171\u4eab\u529f\u80fd\u7684\u516c\u5171\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5230\u4e0a\u5c42\u7684\u6559\u5ba4\u533a\u57df\uff0c\u8fd9\u79cd\u5782\u76f4\u5206\u5c42\u7ed3\u6784\u786e\u4fdd\u4e86\u7a7a\u95f4\u7684\u53ef\u8bfb\u6027\u4e0e\u4f7f\u7528\u54c1\u8d28\u3002\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The school complex asserts a contemporary architectural language, coherent with the neighbourhood, <\/span>while developing its own identity. Its compact massing is punctuated by two glazed slots bringing natural <\/span>light into the heart of the building. The anodised glass and aluminium facades, animated by a play of fins <\/span>forming brise-soleils, alternate between solid and transparent surfaces, while large recessed openings <\/span>frame the landscape and offer glimpses of school life. On the ground floor, the transparency of the <\/span>entrance hall extends the public space and accompanies the gesture of entry.<\/span><\/p>\n

The interior organisation relies on a clear and gradual distribution of the different central points, each <\/span>level being dedicated to a specific entity \u2013 nursery school, leisure centre or primary school. From the <\/span>broadly open base of the ground floor, which groups the shared functions, all the way to the classrooms <\/span>located on the upper levels, this vertical stratification guarantees readability and quality of use.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspired by the Oasis courtyards, the outdoor spaces are designed as genuine places for living and <\/span>learning. They offer a diversity of atmospheres and uses \u2014 pedagogical garden, play areas, relaxation <\/span>and discovery zones \u2014 while maintaining a high degree of spatial legibility, essential for supervision and <\/span>safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

The architects developed a comprehensive environmental approach to this project, relying both on <\/span>choices about durable construction methods and on the optimisation of technical systems. The concrete <\/span>structure ensures the building\u2019s favourable thermal inertia and comfort in summer, whereas the wood <\/span>framework of the fa\u00e7ades insulates via the exterior, which originated on an off-site manufacturing facility. <\/span>Thus, it participates in the overall energy performance and contributes to limiting the environmental <\/span>impact of construction. The choice of sustainable materials, such as anodised aluminium and glass, <\/span>guarantees the longevity of the building whilst also affirming its identity.<\/span><\/p>\n
