GVL<\/strong><\/a>\uff1aAs \u201cthe Capital of Silk\u201d, Huzhou has been well known for its silk production since ancient times. According to the historical records, its reputation began in the Three Kingdoms and Six Dynasties, developed in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Song and Yuan Dynasties, and boomed in Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the first year of Xianfeng Dynasty, Huzhou silk was exported to the Europe and was popular among the royal families. The design of Huzhou Poly Tangyue is inspired by the four charms of silk, expecting to interpret the silk culture of Huzhou City.<\/p>\n

\u6e56\u5dde\u4e1d\u7ef8\u6709\u56db\u5343\u591a\u5e74\u5386\u53f2\uff0c\u81ea\u5510\u4ee5\u540e\u4e00\u76f4\u662f\u5386\u4ee3\u8d21\u54c1\uff0c\u6e05\u7687\u5ba4\u5185\u52a1\u5e9c\u66f4\u662f\u89c4\u5b9a\uff0c\u51e1\u7687\u5e1d\u540e\u5983\u6240\u7a7f\u201c\u9f99\u888d\u201d\u3001\u201c\u51e4\u8863\u201d\u5fc5\u987b\u7528\u201c\u8f91\u91cc\u4e1d\u201d\u7ec7\u9020\u7ef8\u7f0e\u3002<\/p>\n

With a long history of more than 4,000 years, Huzhou silk has served as royal tributes since Tang Dynasty. In Qing Dynasty, the clothes of the emperors, the queens and the imperial concubines must be made of Jili sillk of Huzhou, which is now world-renowned.<\/p>\n

As the welcoming space at the entrance, the outer wall of the ring-shaped experience center is decorated with cocoons and the interior space is designed in the shape of a cocoon. A big tree stands high in the center, just like a silkworm gets out of the shell. The grand painting \u201cA Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains\u201d unfolds around the wall, allowing people to enjoy the beautiful natural views and painting through the glass vitrines.<\/p>\n

A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains was painted by Wang Ximeng under the instruction of the Emperor Huizong of Song Dynasty. The designer has combined the painting with the silk, creating a transition space which integrates traditional experience with modern fun. Jili Silk is famous for its fineness, softness, whiteness and malleability, which can even bear the weight of eight ancient copper coins; the Imperial Academy advocates grace and elegance and spurns vulgarity and vanity. Spring flowers, green grass and tea vapour create a cozy atmosphere which allows people to find their inner peace and freedom.<\/p>\n

Huzhou is famous for Mount Tianmu, Lake Taihu and Jili Silk. Natural mountains and waters are wonderful and marvellous, while the artificial hills and lakes also have their own beauty. Dong Qichang, one of the most influential painter and calligrapher in Ming Dynasty once said that, \u201cThe paintings is inferior to natural landscape in miraculous effect but superior to it in creative skills.\u201d<\/p>\n

The designer has interpreted the eight characteristics of Jili Silk by musical instrument in ancient orchestra (bamboo, string, gourd, metal, clay, stone, leather and wood). In this way, silk can be heard and music can be seen. That\u2019s why the eight music ladies come into being and why the lawn is called the music lawn.<\/p>\n

The charms of Huzhou silk are successfully interpreted by paintings, academic atmosphere, landscapes and ancient music. Designed for a more beautiful life, Huzhou Poly Tangyue shows us that Huzhou is an ideal place for habitation.
