Trahan Architects:<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Situated on high ground adjacent to the Mississippi River, Magnolia Mound was a working plantation established in 1791. Today, Magnolia Mound\u2019s mission is to illustrate and interpret the French Creole lifestyle through educational programs, workshops, lectures, festivals and other special events.<\/p>\n

\u573a\u5730\u5e73\u9762\u56fe \u00a0Site Plan\"\"<\/a>
\n\u8be5\u9879\u76ee\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u610f\u56fe\u662f\u5f3a\u8c03\u573a\u5730\u548c\u5730\u5f62\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u6027\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u5b83\u4e0eMagnolia\u5c71\u4e18\u6709\u5173\u3002\u6700\u5c0f\u7684\u5e72\u9884\u662f\u4e3a\u6e38\u5ba2\u5728\u571f\u4e18\u5468\u56f4\u8d70\u52a8\u5efa\u7acb\u4e00\u4e2a\u6e05\u6670\u7684\u5165\u53e3\u6765\u62ac\u9ad8\u73b0\u6709\u7684\u5386\u53f2\u5efa\u7b51\u548c\u9057\u5740\u3002\u5f53\u4e00\u4e2a\u4eba\u7a7f\u8fc7\u65b0\u7684\u6e38\u5ba2\u4e2d\u5fc3\uff0c\u767b\u4e0a\u571f\u4e18\u9876\u90e8\u65f6\uff0c\u5efa\u7b51\u4e0e\u666f\u89c2\u878d\u5408\u800c\u53d8\u5f97\u4e0d\u90a3\u4e48\u5f15\u4eba\u6ce8\u76ee\u3002\u65b0\u5efa\u7b51\u7684\u9876\u90e8\u4e0e\u571f\u4e18\u9ad8\u5ea6\u5bf9\u9f50\uff0c\u8fde\u63a5\u4e86\u65e7\u697c\u548c\u65b0\u697c\u3002<\/p>\n

The design intent for the project is to emphasize the importance of site and topography as it relates to Magnolia Mound. The minimal intervention seeks to elevate the existing historic buildings and site by establishing a clear threshold for visitors as they circulate around the base of the mound. As one transitions through the new visitor center and ascends to the top of the mound, the building merges with the landscape to become unobtrusive and imperceptible. The top of the new structure aligns with the elevation of the high ground of the mound, establishing a datum which links old and new architecture on site.<\/p>\n

\u534a\u900f\u660e\u7684\u73bb\u7483\u901a\u9053\u5de7\u5999\u5730\u9694\u79bb\u4e86\u65b0\u5efa\u7b51\u5185\u90e8\u548c\u5468\u56f4\u7684\u5c45\u4f4f\u8005\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u5370\u8c61\u6d3e\u7ed8\u753b\u4e00\u6837\u2014\u2014\u6a21\u7cca\u4e86\u65b0\u4e0e\u65e7\uff0c\u5efa\u7b51\u4e0e\u666f\u89c2\u4e4b\u95f4\u7684\u533a\u522b\u3002<\/p>\n

Translucent channel glass was selected\u00a0to subtly obscure occupants within and around the new building like an impressionist\u00a0painting \u2013 blurring the distinction between new and old, building and landscape.<\/p>\n

\u535a\u7269\u9986\u5c55\u793a\u7bb1\u7684\u8bbe\u8ba1\u662f\u5bf9\u65b0\u5efa\u7b51\u5e72\u9884\u7684\u8865\u5145\u3002\u53d7Donald Judd\u548cSol Lewitt\u4f5c\u54c1\u7684\u542f\u53d1\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5b9e\u5fc3\u94dd\u706f\u5177\u8bd5\u56fe\u5728\u96d5\u5851\u3001\u5bb6\u5177\u548c\u5efa\u7b51\u4e4b\u95f4\u67b6\u8d77\u6865\u6881\uff1b\u63d0\u4f9b\u5b58\u50a8\u7a7a\u95f4\u3001\u5c55\u793a\u673a\u4f1a\u548c\u9500\u552e\u70b9\u3002<\/p>\n

The museum display cases were designed as a complimentary element to the new architectural intervention. Inspired by the work of Donald Judd and Sol Lewitt, these solid aluminum fixtures attempt to bridge between sculpture, furniture and architecture; providing storage space, display opportunities, and point of sale.<\/p>\n
