Located at the end of Zhanjiang People\u2019s Boulevard, the site is surrounded by old residential communities which feature limited public spaces and shabby facilities. Therefore, residents here are eager for an open and harmonious space for daily communications and activities.<\/p>\n

How to change the historical port into a new urban plaza is really a challenge. When in search of inspirations, the designer was touched by the dance of gossamer \u201cwind\u201d: the dancer\u2019s dancing with a gossamer ribbon flying with the wind. Isn\u2019t the Port of Zhanjiang a dancer of time?\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tower of Time is originated from an unknown building, which no one knows when and why came into being. However, since the residents have been used to its existence, the designers decided to change the building into the Tower of Time which carries the memory of the locals together with the Ribbon of Time. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The designers extend the urban landscape axis with the vertical grass slope in front of the plaza and end it by the Tower of Time. In this way, the horizontal People\u2019s Avenue connects with the vertical Tower of Time, changing the two-dimension landscape into three dimension. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the entrance of the plaza, the designers planted a field of Chinese pennisetum on one side, which is an artificial design and also a natural choice. In the original design, the designers have planted different plants to create a natural atmosphere. However, only the Chinese pennisetum survives the coastal climate at last. The designers thus added to more Chinese pennisetum and created an Ocean of Grass which is attractive to all tourists. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As one of the renovation projects in Section one of the Port of Zhanjiang, Origin Plaza is endowed with politic and cultural significance, for which it is named \u201cOrigin\u201d. The port is the turning point in the development of Zhanjiang, while the plaza will be a new starting point for the port. The designers integrated the LOGO of the plaza with the completion year (2018), with the purpose of introducing the new node to people naturally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u5168\u533a\u94fa\u88c5\u4f7f\u7528PC\u7816\uff0c\u5177\u6709\u6df7\u51dd\u571f\u7684\u9ad8\u5f3a\u5ea6\u3001\u8010\u4e45\u6027\u3001\u8010\u78e8\u6027\u3001\u8010\u5019\u6027\u3001\u6297\u51b2\u51fb\u6027\u3001\u9632\u7ed3\u9732\u3001\u9632\u963b\u71c3\u3001\u4e0d\u9000\u8272\u7b49\u7279\u70b9\uff0c\u7b26\u5408\u56fd\u5bb6\u8282\u80fd\u51cf\u6392\u3001\u53ef\u6301\u7eed\u53d1\u5c55\u6218\u7565\u65b9\u9488\uff0c\u5e76\u80fd\u5728\u6ee1\u8db3\u666f\u89c2\u6548\u679c\u7684\u57fa\u7840\u4e0a\u524a\u51cf\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6210\u672c\u3002<\/p>\n

All the plaza is paved with PC bricks, which is high strength, durable, abrasion resistant, weather resistant, shock resistant, anti-condensation, fire-retardant and colorfast. It is a low-cost material that meets the criteria for low carbon and sustainable development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
