素有太湖避风港美称的南厍（shè）古称简村，距今已有千年历史。是旧时吴江地区出入太湖的港口、驿站。位于苏州太湖新城中部——东太湖旅游度假区的南厍古村，留下了明清至今渔港码头历史变迁痕迹。

入口绿植萋萋藤曼攀爬山石墙体直至茅屋门檐，绿意萦绕，自然舒适感油然而生。疲倦瞬间消失取而代之的是园子飘来扑鼻的蔬果花香。

横卧河道之上的朱砂红木桥犹如古朴木屋，行入桥上倏忽间有隔世感。阳光落入窗桥内如诗如画，窗户优雅地汲取阳光雨露。窗外是水光涟漪，树影荡漾的自然风光。
The cinnabar and mahogany bridge lying across the river is like a simple wooden house. When you walk on the bridge, you suddenly feel separated.
