北京北林地景园林设计院有限责任公司&北京林业大学：昆山环城滨江公园位于江苏省昆山市中心老城区，北环城河北岸，西起昆北路，东至长江路，长约1600米，总面积约为14公顷。周边以居住区为主，是市民在日常生活中使用率极高的开放空间。设计通过梳理慢行系统、驳岸、植被、建构筑物、夜景与智慧景观等，将打造集自然、智慧、休闲、文化于一体的复合型滨水生态公园，丰富市民慢行体验及活动空间，增强人民群众的幸福感，助力昆山成为城水交融的现代水乡，蓝绿交织的生态城市。该项目是北京北林地景园林规划设计院有限责任公司·北京林业大学所承担的昆山环城滨江绿环的先行示范段。
Beijing BLDJ Landscape Architecture Institute Co., LTD. & Beijing Forestry University：Kunshan Riverside Park is located in the center of Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, on the north bank of the North Huancheng River. It stretches from Kunbei Road in the west to Changjiang Road in the east, with a length of about 1,600 meters and a total area of approximately 14 hectares. The surrounding area is primarily residential, and it serves as an open space that is extensively used by citizens in their daily lives. The design aims to establish a versatile waterfront ecological park, harmoniously fusing elements of nature, intelligence, leisure, and culture. This synergy is achieved through the amalgamation of a slow walking system, embankments, greenery, architectural elements, nightscapes, and intelligent landscaping. Its objective is to provide citizens with a sustainable and health-conscious walking experience, cater to the diverse needs of visitors, and contribute to Kunshan’s evolution into a contemporary water town, seamlessly blending urban and aquatic aspects, creating an ecological city where blue and green intertwine. This project serves as the first demonstration section of the Kunshan Riverside Green Ring, undertaken by Beijing BLDJ Landscape Architecture Institute Co., LTD and Beijing Forestry University.

已经向公众开放多年的滨江公园，旧有的设施和空间难以满足居民多样的生活需求，亟待进行全面的改造更新。改造后的公园，滨江健康步道、儿童活动场、滨水活动空间、眺望台、服务建筑等各类公共空间的置入契合了市民需求，人们在这里休闲、活动，书写滨江健康生活新篇章。园区内完善的慢行系统网络，为周边使用者提供便捷出行方案。打造“公园+”服务模式，公园中的服务建筑，被赋予不同的商业功能，进行商业经营，盘活公园优势资源、开辟公园消费新场景。

The Riverside Park, which has been open to the public for many years, underwent a comprehensive renovation and upgrade due to the old facilities and spaces no longer meeting the diverse needs of the residents. The placement of various public spaces such as the riverside health trail, children’s activity area, waterfront activity space, observation deck, and service buildings in the park fits the needs of citizens. People come here to relax, engage in activities, and create a new chapter of healthy riverside life. The park’s improved pedestrian system network provides convenient travel options for nearby users. The “Park+” service model has been developed, with service buildings in the park being assigned different commercial functions for business operations, revitalizing park resources, and creating new consumption scenarios in the park.

一、开放——拥抱城市，亲水昆脉 Openness – Embracing the city, getting close to the water in Kun vein
这里曾是一片封闭的水岸，尽管拥有绵延水脉，市民却无法触及自然清波，无法感受与水息息相关的和谐生态。开放的设计，让人们可以随心所欲地与水亲近，无论是沿着水边漫步，还是在碧波荡漾的江边起舞，都可以感受到水的清凉、水的活力。经过改造，全新的滨江公园成为一个充满生机与活力的亲水公共空间。
This used to be a closed waterfront, and despite the continuous water system, the residents could not touch the clear waves of nature or experience the harmony associated with water. The open design allows people to interact with water freely, whether strolling along the water’s edge or dancing on the rippling riverside, you can feel the coolness and vitality of the water. After the transformation, the new Riverside Park has become a vibrant and vibrant public space for water-friendly activities.

二、链接——绿色贯通，慢行昆脉 Connection – Green penetration, slow walking in Kun vein
设计对现有可利用园路进行更新，同时增加园路密度，新建多处支路，对原场地内断头路进行织补增建，形成连续贯通的道路系统，满足人们低碳健康的慢行体验。公园的路径如同流水线条般蜿蜒伸展，引领游客深入公园的每一个角落，探索这个公园的无限魅力。
The design updates the existing usable park roads, increases the density of park roads, adds multiple new branches, and supplements and builds on the dead-end roads in the original site to form a continuous and thorough road system, catering to people’s low-carbon and healthy slow-walking experience. The park’s paths meander like flow lines, leading visitors to every corner of the park, exploring the infinite charm of the park.

三、激活——整合赋能，活力昆脉 Activation – Integrated empowerment, revitalizing Kun vein
在滨江公园中植入功能活动，满足全龄人群需求。老年人可以广场舞、打太极，儿童可以戏水、游戏、球类运动，市民在此更是可以观花、赏叶、观鸟，喜欢运动的人们可以慢跑、漫步。而那些以“云”为主题的艺术亭廊，更是让人们在欣赏美景的同时，感受到艺术的魅力和文化的底蕴，贯穿起昆脉的序列。
Functional activities catering to all age groups are introduced into the Riverside Park. The elderly can engage in square dancing and Tai Chi, children can play with water, games, and ball games, and citizens can enjoy flower viewing, leaf viewing, bird watching. Those who like sports can jog and walk. The art pavilions themed around “cloud” allow people to appreciate the beauty while feeling the charm of art and cultural heritage, running through the sequence of Kunmai.

云影 Cloud shadows
云影亭是滨河步道上方的一处廊架，采用参数化设计出波纹效果，倒映在生态水池中央，天光、云影、水面交相辉映。
The Cloud Shadow Pavilion is a canopy structure situated above the riverside promenade. It showcases a parametrically designed undulating effect, which mirrors elegantly in the heart of the ecological pond. This creates a harmonious interplay of sunlight, cloud shadows, and the water surface.
云顶 Cloud peek
云顶亭采用镜面不锈钢的材料，做出云朵的造型，亭下为飘带透光混凝土座椅。地面的图案和飘逸的座椅反射到廊架顶部，似处在一个虚实结合的空间之中。
The Cloud Peek Pavilion incorporates mirrored stainless steel materials to craft a design resembling billowing clouds. Beneath the pavilion, one finds ribbon-shaped translucent concrete seating. The ground patterns and the graceful seats cast reflections onto the canopy’s apex, creating an illusion of an environment that seamlessly fuses reality with the surreal.
云翼 Cloud Wing
清晨的滨江公园栏杆上落满了白色的水鸟，云翼亭灵感就来源于它们。
During the morning hours, the railings along Riverside Park are adorned with white waterbirds. The concept for the Cloud Wing Pavilion draws inspiration from these avian creatures.
云辉 Cloud Radiance
中轴广场上的云辉是一组艺术灯杆，通过运用曲线的线条，让云辉看起来柔和、优雅，也给中轴广场带来一抹灵动。
The Cloud Radiance on the central axis square is a group of artistic lampposts. By using curved lines, the Cloud Radiance appears soft and elegant, bringing a touch of agility to the central axis square.
云朵——预制透光混凝土飘带座椅 Clouds — precast transparent concrete streamer seats
预制透光混凝土飘带座椅做出云朵形状，不仅提供给市民游客停留休憩的地方，还兼具了造型和灯光美观性，成为魅力滨江的打卡点。
The prefabricated translucent concrete ribbon seats serve as not only a resting and relaxation spot for both citizens and tourists but also seamlessly integrate appealing design and lighting aesthetics. This has transformed them into a captivating destination along the picturesque riverside, making it a must-visit for all.
云彩——利用原来的微地形，保留改造成儿童活动场 Clous-Utilizing the Existing Micro-terrain, Transforming It into a Children’s Activity Area
云岫——“历史”与“现代”的一体两面 Cloud Pavilion – The two sides of “history” and “modern”
夜幕下的城市生活 ——桥下空间的新生 City Life Under the Night Sky – The Rebirth of Under-Bridge Spaces
四、共融——海绵城市，弹性昆脉 Integration – Sponge City, Resilient Kunmai
运用海绵城市理念实现雨水综合利用，部分园路路侧设有植草沟，连接各处的下凹式绿地，结合地形营造，因势利导实现雨水蓄滞。
By implementing the Sponge City concept to attain comprehensive rainwater management, certain park pathways have been enhanced with grassy ditches along the roadside, which serve to connect sunken green spaces across the area. Through an integration of terrain design, this approach maximizes the utilization of natural topography for efficient rainwater collection and retention.

五、公园+——商业运营，永续昆脉 Park+—Commercial operation, sustainable Kunma
建筑的灵感来源于昆山的传统文化代表——昆曲，一袭水袖丹衣，一曲醉人惊梦。公园里的建筑大多伴水而生，形态曲折婉转，建筑的倒影在水中随波荡漾，如水袖般灵动飘逸。纯白的建筑色彩，传承自江南细雨中的粉墙黛瓦；纤细的结构骨架，营造着轻盈和欢快的场地氛围；半透明的竖向格栅，如纱般朦胧，传递着东方的含蓄情感。
除了为游人提供休息观景的场所外，公园内的系列服务建筑还被赋予不同的商业功能，打造“公园+”服务模式，进行商业经营，盘活公园优势资源、开辟公园消费新场景。水岸茶室、溪边棋社、运动驿站、林下餐厅，多样的服务功能为游客带来全方位的游憩体验。建筑立面通透晶莹，打破室内与室外之间的界限，人工与自然相互渗透；同时设有大量的外廊灰空间，游客不仅可以在室内品茶赏景，还可以在檐下对弈切磋，弹琴唱曲。
The architectural inspiration draws from Kunshan’s rich cultural heritage, particularly the traditional art form of Kunqu opera, which mirrors the grace and fluidity of water sleeves and the attire of dancers. The majority of park structures seamlessly blend with the waterscape, adopting sinuous and meandering forms. Their reflections on the water surface ripple harmoniously, reminiscent of the graceful and ethereal movements of water sleeves. The pristine white architectural tones pay homage to the pink-hued walls and tiles characteristic of the Jiangnan region during drizzles. The slender structural framework imparts a sense of lightness and joviality, while the semi-transparent vertical lattice, resembling a veil, conveys the nuanced emotions of the East.
In addition to offering visitors a place for leisure and relaxation, the park’s service buildings also serve diverse commercial functions as part of a “park+” service model. This model is designed to enhance commercial operations, leverage the park’s strategic resources, and establish fresh consumption opportunities within the park. Riverside tea house, creek-side chess club, sports relay station, and forest dining area offer a range of services to provide tourists with a comprehensive recreational experience. The building facade is transparent and crystal clear, breaking the boundaries between the interior and exterior, allowing artificial and natural elements to permeate each other. At the same time, there are plenty of outdoor gallery spaces. Visitors can not only enjoy tea and scenery indoors but also play chess and discuss strategies under the eaves, as well as play musical instruments and sing.

Peroration：Kunshan’s existence is deeply intertwined with its connection to the river, which has played a pivotal role in its prosperity. The Riverside Park is a testament to reestablishing this essential connection between the city and the river. It is designed to serve as a vibrant and essential public space, contributing to the creation of a modern water town that seamlessly blends the beauty of blue and green landscapes. This transformation will gradually unfold here.
