Kiasma Studio：圣域酒吧与厨房（Sanctuary Bar and Kitchen）位于印度果阿邦，占地 7500 平方英尺。该项目以修复一栋有着 200 年历史的葡萄牙别墅为核心，通过将其改造成充满活力的厨房和酒吧，为这块曾一度被忽视的土地注入了新的活力，使其重新置于自然的中心。

Kiasma Studio：Sanctuary Bar and Kitchen—a 7,500 sqft located in Goa, India. This project centres around the restoration of a 200-year-old Portuguese villa, breathing new life into a once-neglected plot by transforming it into a vibrant kitchen and bar, set amidst a natural sanctuary.

With 50% of the plot preserved for nature, fostering biodiversity, and encouraging community engagement, Sanctuary embodies a harmonious blend of heritage preservation, sustainable design, and communal gathering spaces.

“Sanctuary” is a transformative landscape project that breathes new life into the ancient ruins of a Portuguese building, turning it into a vibrant bar and kitchen experience like no other. Nestled within rugged and challenging terrain, this project has taken obstacles and turned them into design opportunities, embracing the raw beauty of its surroundings while showcasing the adaptive spirit of both nature and architecture. The result is a seamless blend of historical charm, contemporary design, and a celebration of art that invites visitors to explore and experience the unexpected.

走近 “圣域”入口，首先映入眼帘的是葡萄牙的古老废墟，一棵百年老树盘根错节缠绕在部分废墟之上，令人叹为观止。自然与建筑交织的壮观景象为接下来的游览奠定了基调。废墟经过保护和修复，保持了其历史价值，而蚕食的树根则象征着大自然的顽强生命力以及建筑环境与自然世界的和谐共存。这是一个关于适应性和复原力的视觉隐喻，也是贯穿整个项目的主题。

As you approach the entrance to “Sanctuary,” the first thing that greets you is the stunning sight of old Portuguese ruins partially enveloped by the sprawling roots of a centuries-old tree. This magnificent display of nature and architecture intertwining sets the tone for what lies ahead. The ruins have been preserved and restored to maintain their historical significance, while the encroaching roots symbolize nature’s tenacity and the harmonious coexistence between the built environment and the natural world. It’s a visual metaphor for adaptability and resilience, a theme that runs throughout the project.

Stepping inside, you’re immediately transported into a rustic yet inviting atmosphere. The central feature of the space is the restored Portuguese villa, now repurposed to house two distinct restaurants, each offering a unique experience. During the day, the kitchen comes to life, serving an array of culinary delights that reflect both local and global flavors. The villa’s interiors retain their old-world charm, with exposed brick walls and weathered wooden beams, evoking a sense of history and authenticity. The design is minimalistic yet thoughtful, allowing the natural beauty of the ruins to take center stage.

With soft lighting casting a warm glow over the space, the energy of the bar contrasts with the tranquil ambiance of the daytime kitchen. The bar area features a 40-seater cabana, offering guests an intimate and cozy setting to unwind and socialize. A rustic counter made of reclaimed wood and metal adds to the space’s organic charm, creating a perfect blend of modern hospitality and historical preservation. Whether enjoying a cocktail or sharing a meal, guests are enveloped in the ambiance of the ancient ruins, making every moment feel special and unforgettable.

Stone pathways weave through the landscape, leading guests to various pockets of the property, each with its own unique character. These paths, flanked by indigenous plants and greenery, guide visitors to hidden nooks where they can sit and appreciate the beauty of their surroundings.

Elevated viewpoints have been strategically placed throughout the site, offering panoramic views of the landscape beyond. From these vantage points, guests can fully appreciate the juxtaposition of the ancient ruins with the wild, untamed nature that surrounds them. The use of locally sourced materials throughout the landscape design reinforces the connection to the land, while also ensuring the project remains sustainable and in harmony with the environment.
