SHHS Studio：The knot between pine and bamboo, idle clouds sealed doors. Under the green forest, clothes stained with petals, grass full steps. A few wisps of tea smoke, full of spring light to eyes, yellow birds twittering. This time can be poetry, can be painted.

壹 · 问 访 ONE,VISITING
城西。五月。初夏。
以俯视的角度来看，这园子的“窄而长”是很有意思的。最初，绿色的草地浩浩荡荡地铺了开来，就像是一幅长长的画卷。以大地为案台，清泉为墨砚，花木成风骨，等待着有人来摹绘亭台水榭，泼墨诗情画意，皴染人间烟火。园子开始设计是在去年的初秋，建造完毕已是深冬。
West of Zhengzhou. May,Early in summer.
From an overhead view, the garden’s “narrow and long” is very interesting. At first, the green grass spread out like a long picture. With the earth as the platform, the clear spring as the ink stone, the flowers and trees as the character, the garden is waiting for someone to paint the pavilions and waterside pavilions, splash ink poetic and painting, and texture with human life. The garden was designed in early autumn last year and completed in late winter.

经历了一月的沉寂，二月的轻寒，三月的繁花，四月的生发，在这期间，城市因为疫情再三地按下暂停键，我们错过了明媚热闹的春色，心里有些许遗憾。所幸的是，我们所有的等待，在初夏暖煦的阳光里，这座园子给了我们回应和答案。
After the silence of January, the light cold of February, the flowers of March and the growth of April, during this period, the city repeatedly pressed the pause button because of the epidemic, and we missed the beautiful and lively spring scenery, with a little regret in the heart. Fortunately, with all our waiting that in the warm sunshine of early summer, this garden gave us the answer.
园子在城西，离我们有一段距离，计划了很久要去看一看，是认真的，也是期待的，就像是要共赴一场约定已久的会面。去年的秋天，园子的主人指着失修已久，略显荒芜的花园，跟我们讲了一些想法，然后委托我们开展下一步的设计。
园子是狭长的，是一分为二的，被回家的园路从中间切开，分得明明白白。西园是一片草地，东园也是一片草地。
西园的草地上，现状有两棵大桂花，一座八角亭，坐落在园子外的水岸上。桂花是主人花了心思栽种的，亭子也是主人用了心思布置的，有闲情，有雅致，这些都是要保留的。
The garden was in the west of the city, with some distance away from us. we had planned to visit it for a long time. It was serious and expected, as if we were going to have a long-agreed meeting. Last fall, the owner of the garden showed us some ideas for the long-neglected and somewhat deserted garden, and then commissioned with us to do the next plan.
The garden is long and narrow, divided in two, with a home a road cut in the middle clearly. The west garden is a meadow, as well the east garden.
On the grass of the west garden, there are two big osmanthus trees and an octagonal pavilion located on the water bank outside the garden. Osmanthus trees and pavilions were carefully arranged by the garden owner, keeping the leisure and elegance here.

东园的草地上则是空旷的，安静的，只有一条踩出来的隐约可见的小路和一棵高大的合欢树，尽头是一间盥洗室。
所以这园子，在这一分为二的园子里，一方面要承载生活，同时也要经营心境，是设计师最初的想法。
The grass of the east garden is empty and quiet, saving a trodden path and a tall acacia tree, ending with a washroom.
On the one hand, the garden that divided in two, want to carry the loading of life .On the other hand, it want to manage mood at the same time.This is the original idea of designers.

贰 · 用 心 TWO,HEART
园子虽小，却是用了心的，设计师前前后后一共拿了三轮方案来反复推敲，现代风格略显生硬，自然风格又怕做作。在有限的空间和自我约束里，让想象力驰骋出另一番天地是设计师的功力。
以过往的经验来说，越是狭小的场地，就越是需要量体裁衣，裁出空间，裁出生活，裁出诗画般的情境，这也是设计师的功力。所以，在使用功能，空间尺度和空间赋予人的情感体验方面，进行反复地精心裁量之后，于是便有了这一半烟火，一半诗意。
Although the garden is small, it was designed with heart. Designers took 3 plans in all to deliberate project repeatedly. Contemporary style shows curt slightly; natural style was worried about hypocritical feeling. In the limited space and self-restraint, let the imagination gallop out of mind is the work of designers.
With past experience, the more narrow the site, the more required to tailor space, tailor life, tailor the situation like poetry and painting, which is also the skill of designers. So, in terms of using functions, spatial scales that give people emotional experience. After repeated careful design,the garden have half of the normal life, half of the poetic inside.
西园是烟火的，拿来生活的，是居家过日子的，也是好用务实的。
入口是一泓清泉，如画的松石，是迎接归家的意思。芳草如茵，林木枝叶葳蕤，亭台若隐若现，阖家团聚于水岸之畔，是享受家庭盛宴的地方。孩子们在阳光下的草地上玩耍嬉闹，蹦蹦跳跳。明净开阔的草地上，也可以携子同乐，是人生的天伦与幸事。
The west Garden is for normal life, also for practical using.
At the entrance,there is a spring, with picturesque pine and stone, which is the meaning of greeting to home. Around the looming pavilions grows dense leaves, fragrant grass, luxuriant trees. Family reunion by the waterfront ,which is a place to enjoy family feast. The children are frolicking and skipping on the grass in the sunshine. On open green, you can also enjoy yourself with children, which is the blessing of life.
东园是诗意的，用来会客的，是静谧淡然的，也是意犹未尽的。
花木成荫，浅浅的水溪倒影着四时的景色，纵然三月的芳菲，已经歇去，五月的夏木阴阴，非常可人。穿过逶迤弯曲的溪上小径，游走在郁郁葱葱的林木之间，忽然看到有布置好的茶台等待宾客的到来。
East garden is poetic, used to receive visitors. The environmental atmosphere is quiet and indifferent, and also meaning for more.
With flowers and trees into shade, shallow water reflects the four seasons’ scenery. Even if the fragrant in March had already gone, summer wood in May is very attractive. Crossing the winding path of the stream, walking among the luxuriant trees, I suddenly see a tea house waiting for guests.

年轻时我们曾经鲜衣怒马，仗剑走天涯，人到中年，约上三五好友喝茶，谈笑于诗酒花茶之间，于良辰美景里体悟时光，在赏心乐事里快意平生。
When we were young, we used to walk around the world with fresh clothes and swords. At middle-aged, we cook tea with several friends, talking and laughing between poems wine and flower tea, enjoying our time in beautiful scenery and pleasant things.

林清玄说，有时候，人的一生只是为了某一次特殊的相会。这就是茶道里“一期一会”的禅理。时间的流逝告诉我们，难得一面，珍惜眼下每一日，诚心礼遇，不如怜取眼前人。
园子的设计是用心的，营建的过程也少不了周折。建造的过程要积极地沟通，解决图纸与现场的契合，和工人们沟通，和园子的主人交流，这里边就有坚持，执拗，也会有博弈。园子建造一半时，我们去了现场，工人们在西园的草地上种满大树，理由是空着的草地挺可惜，不如种满树好看，这着实让人大吃一惊。原来，工人们所说的“空”和我们理解的“留白”完全是两个概念。
Linqingxuan said that sometimes, one’s life is just for a special meeting. This is the Zen principle of “one period for a while”.The passing of time tells us that it is better to cherish the present day than to pity the present person.
The design of the garden is careful, but the construction process is not smooth. In the process of construction, we should actively communicate to solve problems between the drawings and the site status. Whether the worker or the garden owner, communicating will be persistent, obstinate, and selective. When we went to the site during the construction, the workers planted trees on the grassland of the west garden, saying that it was regrettable that the grass was empty and it was best to plant trees. It was really amazing.It turns out that what workers call “emptiness” and what we understand as “white space” are two completely different concepts.

在经过几番解释后，园子的主人终于理解我们的想法。事后的一次交流，设计师说，如果连设计师都不坚持了，我们这行业还有什么希望？
这便是作为设计者的心思，保证了最终的呈现，实现了设计的初衷：生活的哲理，格调的明朗，都藏匿在层层的叶光，明净的水溪和清清浅浅的光影里……
After several explanations, the owner of the garden finally got the hang of our idea. In a subsequent exchange, the designer said, if the designer is not special, what hope does our industry have?
This is the mind of the designers, which ensures the final presentation and realizes the original intention of the design: the philosophy of life, the clear style is hidden behind the thick leaves, the clear stream and the shallow light.
叁 · 行 深 THREE,DEEP WANDERING
若是用文学的意趣看待我们生活的空间，会有完全不一样的理解视角。以诗歌对应建筑，是竖向的，雄浑的，有人的抱负在里面；以词曲对应花园，古人那句“庭院深深深几许”，足以道尽园子里蕴藏的情绪，这是小家的，是私密的，是关起门来便成了一统的。
对于使用者而言，所有美好的事情都会在花园里不期而遇。雨天听雨，雪天赏雪，夏天感受空气的暑热，在寒冷的冬天煮一壶月光下酒。在流水边，樱花下，雨雪天，酷暑和寒冬中，慢慢体会四季的变迁。顺应自然，去掉我执，实现真正的无我，从而接纳自然赋予我们的日子，日日是好日，日日都是当下，当下就是最好的修行。
If we look at the space we live in with the interest of literature, we will have a completely different perspective of understanding. Comparing architecture with poetry, it is firm and vigorous, with ambition of human. Comparing garden with music ,it is private and interesting. The ancients’ sentence “How deep is the garden” can fully convey the emotions hidden in the garden.
For the user, all good things happen in the garden. Listening to rain on a rainy day, watching snow on a snowy day, feeling the heat of the air on a summer day, cooking moonlit wine on a cold winter day. Experience the seasons by the water, under the cherry blossoms, in the rain and snow, in summer and winter. By conforming to nature, getting rid of self determination, achieving true self – lessness, we can accept the days given to us by nature. Everyday is a good day, A good day is present moment, the present moment is the best practice.

对于自我而言，花园是我们只能自己触碰的情感领地。在光阴的流转里，将生命的种种境遇如同画卷一样徐徐展开。不到园中，怎知春色如许？它是我们可以做梦的地方，将生活的鸡零狗碎悉数抛诸脑后，在闲暇无事的时候，找到属于自己的那壶酒，那本书，那杯茶，以及那个寻觅已久的自己。
For the self, the garden is an emotional space that we can only touch by ourselves. As time goes by, various circumstances of life unfold slowly like a picture scroll. How can we know such a beautiful spring without going to the garden? It’s a place where we can dream, leaving all the bits of life behind. In leisure time, find yourself with your own pot of wine, book and cup of tea.

对于个体而言，花园是我们对待生活的一种态度。其实它不需要多大，哪怕是一方小小的阳台，几丛花木，一抹绿意，便是一个自己的天地。如果有一天，你惊醒地发现你的花园或者阳台堆满生活的琐琐碎碎，被杂物和混乱侵犯与占据，那一定是你对生活失去了全部的用心。
To individual character, the garden is a kind of attitude that we treat the life. In fact, it does not need much, even if it is a small balcony, a few flowers and trees, a touch of green, it is a world of its own. If one day you wake up and find your garden or balcony full of trivia in life, invaded and occupied by disorder and chaos, you must have lost all your attention to life.

花园生长在我们每个人心里，我们用心侍弄每一片花叶，用心灌溉每一个生命，和苟且的自己约定，与缠绕的心事和解。
把即刻就能想明白的事情想明白，把暂时不能想明白的事情一一放下，放下对生命未满之事的我执，从心灵深处获得能量的加持，把最终的答案交给时间。
The garden grows in our hearts. We take care of every flower and leaf and irrigate every life carefully. We reconcile with our reluctant self and our entangled mind.
Think about the things you can understand immediately, and put aside the things you can’t understand for the time being. Put down the paranoia of regret for life, get the blessing of energy from the depths of the heart, and give the final answer to time.
生活是智慧的禅师，花园是修行的道场。
我们每时每日接受生活给予我们的所有事情，无论是好的，或者不好的，就像虔诚地接过禅师手中的衣钵之后，把人生的一切困厄与磨难逐渐释然看淡，然后看山还是山，看水依然是水。
Life is a wise Zen master, the garden is the ashram of practice.
We accept all the things that life gives to us, whether good or bad. It’s like religiously taking over the mantle of Zen master, and gradually relinquishing all the hardships of life,and then seeing the mountains as mountains, water as water.
而对于设计师而言，我们对事物的感知应该是从无到有、从盛放到衰败，再到零落碾作泥，是一个完整的轮回和四时更替。我们不应该把生命之美拆分成一个个美的瞬间来表达自己独立的审美，而是应该抱有自己不偏不倚的态度面对生命的每一个瞬间。
虽是筑园，不是为了定格美好，而是收藏了一个四季的更替和生命的轮回。节气有小满未满，生命时时充盈饱满。
For designers, our perception of things should be from nothing to existence, from flourishing to decay, and then grinding for mud, which is a complete cycle or seasons’ changes. We should not divide the beauty of life into beautiful moments to express our independent aesthetics, but should face every moment of life with our own equal attitude.
Building the garden is not to freeze the beauty, but to collect the replacement of four seasons and the cycle of life. Solar terms have Grain Full or not, life is always full.
所以，即便是疫情当下，当禁足与隔离成为常态，当定期检测成为每日例行，当行业陷入遥遥无期的低迷，无论处于何种境地，我们都不应该让苦心经营多年的理想失修，让原本应该多姿多彩的生命荒芜，让活色生香的日子陷入困顿。
因为，所有的用心都不会被辜负，所有的困厄都是救赎，所有的未满之事皆是万全！
So even now, when foot prohibition and isolation become normal, when regular detection becomes daily routine, when the industry is in a long-term downturn, In any case, We should not let the ideals we have worked hard for years fall into disrepair, the original colorful life desolate, flesh live into ruts.
Because, all the heart will not be negative, all the distress is redemption, all that is not full is perfect
