LAURENT：”What on earth can hope to give a spectacular sight is the tides on the eighteenth day of August” is a famous poem of Su Dongpo, a great poet in Northern Song Dynasty, to praise autumn tide of Qiantang River. Tidal head comes from far and near in a high speed. The tidal heads push each other with a thunder-like sound and splashing water – the scene likes ten thousand horses galloping ahead. River Tide of Qiantang River Therefore, it is known as “The Best Tide in the World”, and it is a natural wonder in the world. The designer extracted the disposition prototype of “spirit” and “elegance” from Hangzhou Liangzhu Culture and Tea Culture, extracted the form prototype of “Effort” and “softness” from Qiantang River Culture and silk culture, and then led to the “Charm of the river tide” conception. The designers tried to create a dialogue between nature and life in this area, to set up the characteristics of the project among the stereotyped Hangzhou real estate design style.
The design expects to continue the core of Oriental artistic conception of “Moonlight Of Spring River”, in which we can read the traditional cultural atmosphere and natural charm, and shape five kinds of imaginative spaces – the bright moon accompanies with tides, fish jumps out of the water, all kinds of grass grow in the yard, the waterfalls flow from the mountains, and sound of Chinese zither and laughter echo around the river. With both complexity and diversity, the design presents the rich and varied scenery of Qianjiang River and tries to integrate the river tide’s charm into the community to make the community become a part of the natural art.

The design adopts water as an element, with characteristic – tangible waterscape, “one-line bore”, wave waterscape and stainless steel theme sculpture, builds the space artistic conception of “in spring, the river rises as high as the sea, and the bright moon accompanies with tides on the sea”, which can be the core content of entrance area’s vision and spirit. The implied meaning of the design is to respect the laws of nature and emphasize traditional philosophy of the unity of nature and man. At the same time, the design builds a sense of ritual during homeowner coming home by using feature landscape walls and array trees, etc.
The tidal changes in Qiantang River are applied to become the application of abstract extraction and it has been adopted into main entrance mat formation and interactive water feature device, which can strengthen the participation, interaction and interest of the scene and as well as shape the concept of time again. The designer went to the site for guidance and commissioning for several times just to achieve the best effect of this innovation.
“Let the swan goose become a light, let the fish become a letter of missing.” Through the entrance gateway and the head of the building gate which serves as loong Gate, the design sets a streamlined symmetrical waterscape with pine planted all around; conjunctively, with the shakedown in the shape of fish on the ground to make a smooth transition of space, at the same time, the design expresses a kind of space artistic conception of “the wind is blowing and the fish are swimming, the moon shines on the pine and cypress to give out the fragrance”, which is able to give people the psychological hint of auspiciousness.

The landscape tries to integrate with the rich varieties of plants, scene stones and roads with the attitude of natural integration, and embellish the exquisite life with interesting little objects to build a glorious picture of “the river flows around the grass, and the moon shines on the flowers like snowflakes” to return to the balance between man and nature, and true self.
In the project, the sunken courtyard is planned to be with functional spaces on all sides and the indoor and outdoor height difference is complex. The design adopts terrain elevation difference and overlapping water features to solve the height difference problem and feature it. Four kinds of interior and sunken courtyard opposite effects have been designed to finally build a space artistic conception of “lost in the sea mist under the slanting moon, seek the way on the Wangxiang Stone.” The design method is concise and unified, and the ancient artistic conception is transformed into the accumulation and open sequence space of modern culture by modern landscape. The whole sunken courtyard is interpreted to return to three natural states of physical conception, emotion conception and artistic conception, which can make a comfortable and concise condition to obtain an empty state of mind.
