睿住天元:在佛山顺德东乐路,一所承载着三代人关于童年回忆的幼儿园正悄然发生蜕变。
1993年开园的顺德区梁銶琚夫人幼儿园,于2025年8月以“自然村落共同体”的全新面貌亮相。这场历时13个月的改造工程,不仅是顺德区十大民生实事的典范之作,更成为幼儿教育空间设计的示范案例。
睿住天元设计团队在充分了解并尊重园方的课程意向和需求情况下,为园方提供了为课程和办园理念服务的设计,将“自然 – 文化 – 教育”三维体系融入每一寸空间,对幼儿园的建筑立面以及室内外空间进行整体改造与焕新设计,打造出一个既蕴含顺德本土特色又富有未来发展潜力的成长乐园,受到园方高度认可和表扬。

REMAC TY: On Dongle Road in Shunde, Foshan, a kindergarten that carries childhood memories for three generations is quietly transforming.
The Shun De Liang Qiu Ju Fu Ren Kindergarten, which opened its doors in 1993, will debut in August 2025 with a new vision as a “Natural Village Community.” This 13-month renovation project is not only an exemplary initiative under Shunde District’s Top Ten Livelihood Projects but also serves as a benchmark for early childhood education space design.
RENAC TY design team, after thoroughly understanding and respecting the kindergarten’s curriculum intentions and needs, created designs tailored to support the kindergarten’s curriculum and educational philosophy. By integrating the three-dimensional system of “Nature – Culture – Education” into every inch of the space, the team carried out a comprehensive renovation and redesign of the kindergarten’s architectural facade and indoor and outdoor areas. This resulted in a growth paradise that embodies Shunde’s local characteristics while possessing potential for future development, earning high recognition and praise from the kindergarten.

Revitalization Strategy: With “boundary-breaking” as the design theme, we transcend the limitations of “functional fragmentation,” reconstruct composite scenarios for “free-flowing” movement, and establish a three-dimensional design ecosystem where “nature, culture, and education” intertwine—ultimately creating a “Natural Village Community.”

The planning and design follows the thread of “undefined functionality,” creating spatial transformation effects where “a single space holds limitless possibilities.” By crafting “spaces for free-flowing movement,” it encourages children to move and explore freely between indoors and outdoors.

Guided by the philosophy of “child-centered, joy-filled integration,” the design leverages natural elements such as forests, sand dunes, and caves to create permeable boundaries. This approach encourages children to explore nature, resulting in spatial scenarios that embody “dynamic teaching, joyful learning, and natural integration.”

Within the four-story main building, the open rooftop has been transformed into a natural classroom, repurposing the roof space with new educational functions to achieve the goal of converting underutilized areas into learning environments. The core teaching area features removable partitions, enabling quick transitions between settings such as art workshops and science laboratories.

整座幼儿园沉淀着30年的教学理念变革跟建筑语言演变,拥有深厚的历史底蕴。 设计团队综合考量建筑的体量感、昭示性以及整体色系,力求完整保留原建筑的设计语言,延续街坊们儿时的回忆印记,通过融入创新设计手法提升整体形象。
Architectural Design-Reconstruction: From Traditional Paradigms to Cultural Translation
The architectural redesign draws inspiration from nature, reshaping the kindergarten’s image into one that is soft and inclusive. It creates cohesive and captivating exploration spaces for children, striving to build a green, ecological campus that seamlessly integrates vibrant pedagogy with joyful learning, all while fostering strong connections to the urban environment.
The entire kindergarten embodies 30 years of evolution in educational philosophy and architectural language, possessing profound historical depth. The design team comprehensively considered the building’s sense of volume, visual prominence, and overall color scheme, striving to fully preserve the original architectural design language and the childhood memories of the neighborhood. By integrating innovative design techniques, the overall image has been elevated.

The entire building has undergone a transformative redesign, integrating VI design that symbolizes the cultural philosophy of The Shun De Liang Qiu Ju Fu Ren Kindergarten. With orange and white as the primary colors, it exudes a cheerful and lively atmosphere, while lake blue and natural wood tones serve as secondary colors to prevent aesthetic fatigue and stimulate children’s enthusiasm for participating in activities.

立面设计语言延续原建筑“圆拱”造型,增加原木色弧形铝板,强调建筑肌理。界面交接出以湖蓝色为分割线,强调更加盈实的建筑体量感。
The facade design language extends the original building’s “arch” motif, incorporating curved wooden-toned aluminum panels to emphasize the architectural texture. Lake blue is used as a dividing line at interface junctions, highlighting a more substantial and dynamic sense of volume.

The interior courtyard adopts a simplified approach, highlighting the raw architectural texture through clean arched forms and colonnades. Large white walls serve as the primary backdrop, accentuated with natural wood tones, collectively fostering a comfortable and serene academic atmosphere.

The entrance gatehouse design features red brick walls paired with a light gray gate structure. The red brick walls are not merely “protective boundaries” but serve as vital spatial nodes connecting the campus with the community, tradition with modernity, and children with nature.

The prosperous old urban area, bustling with traffic and lined with lush green trees, is nestled in a corner of the city, offering a striking glimpse. Having carried the initial impression that Qiu You Kindergarten has given to the city for 30 years, it continues to radiate the dedication spirit of contemporary education.

Natural Dimension: Creating Ecological Scenes with the Four Seasons as the Thread
The campus landscape revolves around four core themes — “Spring Plowing · Source of Life”, “Summer Cultivation · Village Stories”, “Autumn Harvest · Gifts of Nature” and “Winter Storage · Inheritance of Wisdom” — restoring the natural ecological texture.
“春耕・生命之源”以农耕文化为脉络,谱写四季开端。通过稻梦空间、桑基鱼塘、稻香厨房三大核心区域,构建一个从土地到餐桌的完整生命教育链。
“Spring Plowing · Source of Life” takes farming culture as the thread and composes the prelude to the four seasons. Through three core areas — Rice Dream Space, Mulberry-based Fish Ponds and Rice Fragrance Kitchen — it builds a complete life education chain from the land to the dining table.
稻梦空间作为“春耕·生命之源”的起点,象征生命萌芽与成长。其布局自然流畅,水稻种植区居中心,四周设宽敞田埂步道,便于儿童穿梭观察,理解“一粒米的前世今生”。
“Spring Plowing · Source of Life” takes farming culture as the thread and heralds the start of the four seasons. Through three core areas — the Rice Dream Space, mulberry-based fish ponds, and the Rice Aroma Kitchen — it builds a complete life education chain from the land to the dining table. As the starting point of “Spring Plowing · Source of Life”, the Rice Dream Space symbolizes the germination and growth of life. It features a natural and smooth layout, with the rice planting area at its center and spacious ridge paths surrounding it, allowing children to wander and observe freely, and understand the past and present of a single grain of rice.

Elements such as scarecrows and farm culture display boards tell the stories of Shunde’s traditional farming culture, allowing children to inherit local culture amid the joy of planting. This is not only a planting space, but also a living educational classroom.

紧邻水稻种植区的是稻香厨房,空间巧妙依托围墙顺势打造,既节省用地又形成自然围合感。让幼儿能完整体验从插秧-收割,再到稻谷的处理,以及食物制作的全过程,实现自然探索与生活教育的无缝衔接。
厨房功能分区清晰明确,依次规划清洗区、切菜区、烹饪区和烘焙区。将劳动成果转化为美食,通过烹饪体验,让孩子感受“从土地到舌尖”的完整生命历程,强化珍惜粮食的意识。
Adjacent to the rice planting area is the Rice Aroma Kitchen, ingeniously built along the enclosure wall. It not only saves land but also creates a natural sense of enclosure, allowing young children to experience the entire process from rice transplanting and harvesting to rice processing and food making, achieving a seamless connection between natural exploration and life education.
The kitchen has clear and distinct functional zones, sequentially planned as the cleaning area, vegetable cutting area, cooking area, and baking area. Transforming labor achievements into delicious food, children can experience the complete life journey from the land to the tip of the tongue through cooking, strengthening the awareness of cherishing food.

“夏耘・村落故事”是幼儿园焕新工程中“以自然教育为核心”的特色区域,其设计充分体现了“尊重自然、融合教育”的理念。以儿童安全为前提,以生态保护为基础,以教育目标为导向,为幼儿园打造了可持续的户外学习空间。
该区域由四个功能互补的板块组成:榕树头山坡、户外课堂、自然水溪和萌宠之家。
“Summer Cultivation · Village Stories” is a featured area centered on natural education in the kindergarten’s renewal project, and its design fully embodies the concept of “respecting nature and integrating education”. Taking children’s safety as the premise, based on ecological protection and guided by educational objectives, it creates a sustainable outdoor learning space for the kindergarten.
This area consists of four functionally complementary sections: Banyan Tree Hillside, Outdoor Classroom, Natural Stream, and Cute Pet Home.
榕树头山坡:以高差2.4米的土坡为核心,结合原有高山榕树打造「榕树头故事会」立体活动空间,兼具攀爬、休憩功能。
Banyan Tree Hillside: Taking the earth slope with a height difference of 2.4 meters as the core, it combines the existing alpine banyan trees to create a three-dimensional activity space for the “Banyan Tree Storytelling Session”, with both climbing and resting functions.

形成的“树荫+坡地”的微气候环境,增强空间舒适性,成为幼儿园承载社交、文化与叙事的核心空间。
The formed “shade + slope” microclimate environment enhances spatial comfort and serves as the core space of the kindergarten that undertakes social, cultural and narrative functions.

高低错落的木质坐凳,形成半围合空间,阶梯式互动区,促进交流与合作。地面铺设碳化木粒,模拟森林中的自然环境,打造可玩、可学、可创的开放性教育景观。
Wooden benches scattered at different heights form a semi-enclosed space and a stepped interactive area, facilitating communication and cooperation. The ground is paved with carbonized wood chips, simulating the natural environment in a forest and creating an open educational landscape that is playable, learnable and creative.

萌宠之家:幼儿园“在地化自然教育”理念的重要实践空间,专为园内的小猪、小鸭、小兔、小鸡等原住民小动物设计。该空间通过持续性的动物互动,将抽象的生命教育转化为可触摸、可参与的实践体验。
幼儿通过每日喂食、清洁等互动,观察动物生长周期,直观理解生命规律,建立对自然界的初步认知,培养爱心和责任感。
Cute Pet Home: An important practice space for the kindergarten’s “localized natural education” concept, specially designed for the park’s resident small animals such as piglets, ducklings, bunnies and chicks. Through continuous interaction with animals, this space transforms abstract life education into tangible and participatory practical experiences.
Young children observe the growth cycles of animals through daily interactions such as feeding and cleaning, intuitively understand the laws of life, establish initial cognition of nature, and cultivate love and a sense of responsibility.

The “Autumn Harvest · Gifts of Nature” themed space — together with the Quicksand Islet, Wooden Plank Road, native incense trees and Mud Hill — forms a child-friendly activity scene full of natural fun and educational significance, meeting young children’s needs for sensory exploration.

The Quicksand Islet uses natural sea sand to ensure safety and a delicate texture; the Wooden Plank Road spans across it, not only serving as a passage but also helping exercise balance, while forming a three-dimensional interactive circulation route with the Quicksand Islet.

The native incense tree in the atrium has been fully preserved, forming a natural shaded area. The design team ingeniously avoided its growth space, creating a green scenery that echoes nature.

泥巴山区域让幼儿能够玩真正的泥巴,通过塑形、拓印等创作,激发想象力与精细动作发展。
The Mud Hill area allows young children to play with real mud. Through creative activities such as shaping and printmaking, it stimulates their imagination and promotes the development of fine motor skills.

“Winter Storage · Inheritance of Wisdom” transforms “natural materials” into “cultural carriers” through handicraft activities. It carries out handcrafts such as ceramics, block printing and dyeing, and woodworking — not only continuing the “respect for nature and localization” design philosophy from “Summer Cultivation · Village Stories”, but also helping young children understand traditional wisdom and ecological cycles through hands-on practice, with the progression of the four-season curriculum.

Cultural Dimension: Digging Deep into Local Symbols to Awaken Regional Memories
Following the philosophy of “Nature as the foundation, culture as the soul, life as the venue”, we dig deep into Shunde’s local elements such as mulberry-based fish ponds, red bricks and gray tiles, and village banyan trees, realizing the organic connection between traditional culture and modern teaching.

The miniaturized ecological pattern of “mulberry-based fish ponds” introduced into the kindergarten is one of the characteristic landscapes created based on the concept of “localized natural education”.
“榕树头故事会”空间复刻村落场景,以高大乔木与自然木凳营造乡土氛围,助力幼儿建立文化认同。
The “Banyan Tree Storytelling Session” space replicates the village scene, using tall arbor trees and natural wooden benches to create a rural atmosphere, helping young children establish cultural identity.

Guided by the “Living Education” theory proposed by the famous Chinese early childhood educator and child psychologist Chen Heqin, all designs of the campus take encouraging young children’s active exploration as the starting point.
Through the design of flexible spaces and natural scenes, young children’s active exploration and the dynamic adaptation of courses are realized.

After the kindergarten’s renovation, the wading pool has been transformed from an abandoned space into a safe water-play paradise, meeting the safe water-play needs of 3-6-year-old children while echoing Shunde’s water town characteristics.

The atrium is dual-purpose for sunny and rainy weather; it serves as a basketball court on sunny days and transforms into a rainwater interaction square on rainy days.

设计师秉持“现代自然主义”的设计理念,对室内空间进行了一场饱含温情与创意的改造。以温柔之力悉心守护童年的每一段美好时光,用现代设计的表现方式诠释对童年最本真的尊重与呵护。
Interior Design-Empowerment: A Safe Harbor of “Modern Naturalism”
Adhering to the design philosophy of “Modern Naturalism”, the designers have carried out a warm and creative transformation of the interior space. With gentle strength, they carefully guard every beautiful moment of childhood, interpreting the most authentic respect and care for childhood through modern design expressions.
整体空间运用现代简约风格,以弧线语言、圆润边角和温润木色重构空间形态,将传统门厅的“通行功能”转化为“安全港湾”,通过物理细节设计无声传递母亲般的温暖,让孩子们在探索中始终被安全感包裹。
The overall space adopts a modern minimalist style, restructuring the spatial form with curved lines, rounded corners and warm wood tones. It transforms the “passage function” of the traditional foyer into a “safe haven”, silently conveying motherly warmth through physical detail design, allowing children to be wrapped in a sense of security during exploration.

在色彩运用上,摒弃高饱和度色彩带来的喧闹感,转而选用莫兰迪色系营造低饱和度的视觉氛围。此举既能呵护幼儿敏感的视力,又能凭借具有高级感的色彩沉淀空间气质,使日常环境成为潜移默化的审美启蒙课堂。
In terms of color application, high-saturation colors that bring a sense of noise are abandoned, and Morandi color palette is chosen instead to create a low-saturation visual atmosphere. This not only protects young children’s sensitive eyesight but also cultivates the space’s temperament with sophisticated colors, making the daily environment a subtle aesthetic enlightenment classroom.
于架空层引入自然光与盎然绿意,融合原木材质与绿植墙的设计,促使建筑与自然元素深度交融,营造出随时间流转而变化的动态光影画卷,让空间宛如拥有生命、能够呼吸的机体。
Natural light and vibrant greenery are introduced into the elevated floor. By integrating log materials with green wall designs, it promotes the in-depth integration of the building and natural elements, creating a dynamic light and shadow picture scroll that changes as time passes, making the space feel like a living, breathing organism.

墙面不再单调无趣,而是摇身一变成为幼儿艺术展示的平台。通过精心陈列画作与手工作品,赋予它们“被看见”的仪式感,让每一寸空间都化作激发自信、鼓励创意的成长催化剂。
The walls are no longer monotonous and boring; instead, they are transformed into a platform for young children’s art exhibition. By carefully displaying paintings and handicrafts, a sense of ritual for “being seen” is endowed to them, turning every inch of the space into a growth catalyst that inspires confidence and encourages creativity.

在门厅中央开辟“心灵小广场”,以灵活布局支持幼儿自由相遇、交谈与探索,将单一通行空间升级为融合阅读、展示与交往的复合型社交孵化器,滋养童年社交能力。
A “Spiritual Little Square” is carved out in the center of the foyer. With a flexible layout, it supports young children’s free encounters, conversations and exploration, upgrading the single passage space into a comprehensive social incubator integrating reading, exhibition and communication to nurture children’s childhood social skills.
总结
睿住天元以“设计赋能教育、文化滋养成长、生态守护未来”为核心,打造了一个“有温度、有文化、有教育意义”的儿童空间。
梁銶琚夫人幼儿园焕新,远不止于物理空间的更新,它重新定义了幼儿教育空间的范式——在这里,每块红砖都在讲述顺德故事,每寸土地都是自然教室,每个转角都藏着成长密码。
——真正伟大的幼儿园设计,是能让建筑与教育共舞,让文化与童年共鸣的诗意实践。

The renovation of The Shun De Liang Qiu Ju Fu Ren Kindergarten is far more than just the renewal of the physical space; it redefines the paradigm of early childhood education spaces — here, every red brick is telling a Shunde story, every inch of land is a natural classroom, and every corner hides growth codes.
