远影营造:”我认为我的建筑就是自然的某种框架。有了它,我们便可以更深入、更亲密地体验自然。 “隈研吾在谈及水樱花屋时曾这样说道。而在重庆万州后山镇,一片承载着业主童年记忆的老宅地上,我们试图以同样的谦卑姿态,将建筑轻轻放入山林之间——不是征服,而是归还;不是占据,而是栖居。
Yuan Ying Lab: “I believe my architecture is a kind of frame for nature. With it, we can experience nature more deeply and more intimately.” This is what Kengo Kuma once said when speaking of the Water Cherry House. In Houshan Town, Wanzhou, Chongqing, on a piece of ancestral land that carries the owner’s childhood memories, we attempted—with the same humble posture—to gently place the architecture into the mountains and forests: not to conquer, but to return; not to occupy, but to dwell.
因为业主在这里长大,童年的记忆深深扎根于这片土地。如今在外拥有了丰富的阅历与事业,他却始终惦念着这片山林。于是,便有了我们的加入,后山里应运而生。
Because the owner grew up here, his childhood memories are deeply rooted in this land. Today, having gained rich experiences and a career away from home, he has never stopped longing for these mountains and forests. Thus, with our involvement, “HouShanLi” was born.
项目的设计,从始至终便围绕着“院落式生活”展开。那种消隐建筑、拥抱自然的哲学——建筑群由独立的体量组成,像散落在山间的屋子,轻盈地融入场地,让居者无论在室内还是室外,都能无碍地观看风景。
From beginning to end, the design of the project revolves around the concept of “courtyard living.” That philosophy of dissolving architecture and embracing nature—the building complex, composed of independent volumes like houses scattered across the mountains, lightly merges into the site, allowing residents to view the scenery unhindered, whether indoors or outdoors.
设计依循着场地的原始动线去布局空间,让每一步行走都成为与自然的对话。新老建筑并未以庞然大物的姿态压向土地,而是化作几座坡屋顶的院落,被一条蜿蜒的动线温柔串起。这不仅仅是一处半开放的社交与度假疗愈空间,它更像是一次归乡。
The design follows the site’s original circulation to arrange the spaces, making every step a dialogue with nature. The old and new buildings do not press down upon the land as colossal monoliths, but instead transform into several pitched roof courtyards, gently strung together by a winding path. This is not merely a semi open social and vacation healing sanctuary—it is more like a homecoming.
从建筑到景观再到室内,我们实现了完整的一体化设计。一座温暖的公共客厅,是串联起这一切的起点。
From architecture to landscape to interior, we achieved a fully integrated design. A warm communal living room serves as the anchor that ties everything together.
落地玻璃门,让整个空间豁然开朗——室内,一座红砖炉静立一侧,靠墙的展示架上,错落摆放着业主从各地带回的器物与藏书,一张厚实的原木长桌居中而置,这一个可以接待友人、展示收藏、喝茶畅谈的社交场。
Floor to ceiling glass doors open the entire space to light and air. Inside, a red brick stove stands quietly to one side; on the display shelves along the wall, objects and books collected by the owner from various places are arranged at varying heights; a thick, solid wood table is placed at the center—a social venue for receiving friends, showcasing collections, and enjoying tea and conversation.
在后山里,住宿本身亦是一种与自然对话的方式。项目规划了总计6个独立院落式客房,其中新修部分设有4间,保留下老房子原有的2间。然而,由于施工落地过程中的调整,实际完成度展现了另一种更为克制的表达——目前建成的4个独立院落,新修部分延续着”一院一房”的私密叙事,这些客房都拥有各自的独立庭院,私密而安静。
At “HouShanLi”, accommodation itself is also a way of conversing with nature. The project originally planned a total of six independent courtyard guest rooms—four in the newly built section and two retained from the original old house. However, due to adjustments during construction, the actual completion presents a more restrained expression: the four courtyards now built continue the private narrative of “one courtyard, one room,” with each guest room possessing its own private courtyard, secluded and tranquil.
设计师深入挖掘了业主的职业特质与个人热爱,在他的老宅中,将架空层巧妙规划为一场“兴趣的容器”。这里,既是为客人提供入住的开放式共享区,更是为业主量身定制的精神“树洞”。
The designer delved deeply into the owner’s professional traits and personal passions, cleverly planning the elevated floor of his ancestral home as a “vessel for interests.” This space serves as an open shared area for arriving guests, and even more so as a bespoke spiritual “tree hollow” tailored for the owner.
关于屋顶,设计没有使用明亮的金属或对比强烈的异质材料,而是选用了这片土地上最寻常的灰瓦——沉稳、内敛,,它们是独立的“点”,当无数个这样的“点”随机聚集在一起,便连接成一片流动的、富有呼吸感的屋面肌理。
Regarding the roof, the design did not employ bright metals or strongly contrasting materials, but instead chose the most ordinary grey tiles found on this land—restrained and understated. They are individual “points,” and when countless such points gather randomly, they connect into a flowing, breathable roof texture.
推开老木门,小院里青苔漫生,石阶上光影斑驳。业主在这里长大,童年的记忆深深扎根于这片土地。这份”意外”并未打乱项目的调性,反而多了一层时间的质感——就像儿时老宅里那些逐年添建的偏房与阁楼,每一处增补都是生活本身的痕迹。
Push open the old wooden door, and in the small courtyard moss grows abundantly; dappled light and shadow play upon the stone steps. The owner grew up here, his childhood memories deeply rooted in this land. This “unexpected” element did not disrupt the project’s tone, but instead added another layer of patina—just like the annexes and lofts added year by year to the old house of childhood, each addition being a trace of life itself.
每一间都精心串联起青山、云雾与微风,坐卧其间,仿佛整个山林都成了你的私享。这份缺失之美,或许正如人生的遗憾与乡愁,略有遗憾,却也恰如其分地保留了那份不圆满的质感。
Each room is meticulously connected to green mountains, mist, and gentle breezes; sitting or lying within, it feels as if the entire forest has become your private domain. This beauty of absence is perhaps like the regrets and nostalgia of life—slightly imperfect, yet appropriately preserving that texture of incompleteness.
老房子内,你会发现许多材料的细节。墙面保留了夯土的原始肌理,木质格栅温柔地包裹着回廊,连廊的石板路上,旧石墩还保留着时光的纹路。一切都是质朴的、未经雕琢的,甚至带着些许粗犷的手工痕迹。
Inside the old house, you will discover many material textures. The walls retain the original texture of rammed earth; wooden grilles gently wrap the corridors; on the stone slab paths of the connecting walkways, old stone plinths still bear the grain of time. Everything is rustic, unrefined, even carrying somewhat rugged traces of handcraft.
后山里,像是业主写给故乡的一封情书,也是一次将儿时的乡愁化为现实疗愈的旅程。在山间,建筑最终隐入草木。不是消失,而是成为自然的一部分。当客人从城市远道而来,推开院门的那一刻,听见的是风声、水声,以及记忆深处故乡的召唤,被山水温柔地疗愈。
“HouShanLi” is like a love letter the owner has written to his hometown, and also a journey that transforms childhood nostalgia into tangible healing. In the mountains, the architecture ultimately dissolves into the greenery. Not disappearing, but becoming part of nature. When guests travel from the city and push open the courtyard gate, what they hear is the sound of wind and water, and the call of home from deep within memory—all gently healing them through the mountains and waters.
