MASU Planning：To address Nørrebro’s lack of sports and training facilities while simultaneously creating a safe meeting place for residents, the local football club Nørrebro United and the public housing association AKB have initiated “Nørrebro Gathers on the Field / Nørrebro samles på banen.”
全新的多功能活动景观

A new multifunctional activity landscape
The overall ambition is to enhance the area’s connection to its surroundings and strengthen the sense of community among residents and users. In addition to upgraded training facilities for Nørrebro United, the project includes a diverse green and recreational landscape accessible to everyone — regardless of age, gender, or activity level.
Building on the area’s existing qualities, the project transforms a previously enclosed and over-looked space along the public housing blocks into a lively, welcoming, and multifunctional ac-tivity area.
A restrictive fence has been removed to improve the area’s integration with its surroundings. The former football pitch has been upgraded with a new artificial turf field and now serves both Nørrebro United and residents.

A space for activities and recreation
The project also features an activity trail designed to challenge balance and coordination, as well as new playground facilities. Spaces for recreation have been introduced – both near the more active zones and in dedicated seating areas – where residents, users, and visitors can meet and socialize in calm and comfortable surroundings.
Most of the existing trees have been preserved, while additional trees have been planted to increase age and sort diversity. New planting beds with flowering perennials further enhance the area’s visual and recreational qualities.
Alongside these green initiatives, the project also incorporates the potential for future storm-water separation to manage increasing rainfall volumes.

Activity increases safety in the area
AKB København Lundtoftegade is home to a diverse population of approximately 1,500 resi-dents representing around 40 nationalities, giving the project a strong social dimension. Sever-al safety-enhancing measures have been implemented, including improved visibility and better lighting conditions. In addition, increased activity in the area contributes to a greater sense of safety.
