x-studio：The coastal territory of Sweden’s west coast, along the North Sea, comprises a complex and diverse landscape consisting of transitional ecosystems between water and land: from rocky bays, sand dunes, cliff formations, river estuaries, meadows and coastal forests, to an extensive archipelago of granite islands. This coastline includes an important biodiversity of native species of flora and fauna, as well as migratory species. This biodiversity coexists with a cultural landscape characterized by coastal populations originating from fishing and port villages.

The site intervention Meadow Traces proposes a sensitive approximation to this landscape by understanding and emphasizing its natural dynamics and temporalities. The intervention proposes a series of walking paths traced in a fragment of the meadow of Rågelund Bay. Landscape located next to the Kattlegattliden cycle route. The project emphasizes the significance of this botanical area and its biodiversity. Grasses, herbs and shrubs. Habitat for various insects and pollinating species. In this way, the coastal meadow is conceived as a living laboratory. A place of exploration and dissemination, from which a series of biological processes and seasonalities can be perceived.

The intervention aims to highlight the ecological importance of this landscape, as well as to emphasize its biological processes, without trying to control its natural dynamics or spontaneity. On the contrary, trying to let nature play its own role, as a living organism in constant transformation. With this approach, the project proposes to enhance the natural process of vegetation, by allowing nature to continue its own spontaneous growth over time, gradually erasing the footprint left by human activity.
