-项目背景-Background
项目位于宜昌市西陵区云集路中段，为宜昌儿童公园南入口30-60米范围内的边界区域，与宜昌重要的城市形象桃花岭国宾酒店隔云集路相望。这样的一个项目，本身就具有多重身份：她既是云集路更新项目重要的开放空间口袋花园，也是宜昌儿童公园的南侧边界，更是桃花岭国宾酒店的重要对景界面。
The project, situated in the middle section of Yunji Road, Xiling District, Yichang City, borders on the south entrance of Yichang Children Park (within the scope of 30-60m) and faces the important Taohualing Ambassador Hotel which represents the city image of Yichang at the Yunji Road. This project is regarded as the important open space pocket garden of update project on Yunji Road. It borders on the south side of Yichang Children Park and faces the Taohualing Ambassador Hotel.

-设计挑战-The Question
这样的多重身份，自然带来了多重的设计挑战：
01. 如何开放边界？
宜昌儿童公园始建于1956年，原名西陵公园，1986年更名为儿童公园。作为上世纪建成的公园，天然有一道铁艺围墙方便当年的公园管理。拆墙透绿无疑是设计的当务之急，但如何开放，如何重新组织进入动线，并与内部动线有机结合，让内部空间的使用更加高效是必要考虑的问题。
02. 如何保留大树？
原场地有大量参天大树，枝叶扶苏浓荫蔽日，提供了极其完美的林荫空间。大树的空间点位、云集路自东山到长江的天然高差，带来了丰富的空间变化和地形高差。这些大树经历了半个世纪的风雨，记录了这个城市的悲欢离合，默默驻守于公园一隅，如今要以什么样的姿态融入市民的生活中？
03. 如何与城市脉络有机结合？
作为1.5公里段云集路唯一的大型开放空间，如何向市民体现云集路的现代、活力与时尚，如何与城市脉络融为一体，是其必须要考虑的问题。
Designers confront many challenges in design due to its multiple identities:
01. How to open the boundary?
Yichang Children Park was established in 1956, with the former name of Xiling Park, and was renamed as Children Park in 1986. As the park completed in the last century, it was installed with an iron fence to facilitate the park management at that time. It is undoubtedly urgent to dismantle the wall and reveal green in design. But it must be considered how to open the fence, reorganize to enter the motion line, achieve organize combination with internal motion line to make the internal space more efficient.
02. How to reserve tall trees?
There are lots of towering trees at the original site. the dense shade of branches and leaves ward off the sun, providing extremely perfect tree-lined space. The space points of trees and natural elevation difference of Yunji Road from Dongshan to Yangtze River brings abundant space variation and topographic elevation difference. These trees have been developed for half a century, recorded the vicissitudes of life of this city, and silently stood at a corner of the park. Nowadays, how do they blend in the life of the citizens?
03. How to achieve an organic combination with urban context?
It must be considered how to embody the modernity, vitality and fashion of Yuanji Road to citizens and integrate those trees into the urban context in such only large-area open space (1.5km section of Yunji Road).

-设计策略-Title Solution
01. 柔性边界活跃城市生活 Flexible boundary activates the city life
拆墙透绿之后，设计打破了人行道与公园的硬性边界，并试图去模糊这个边界，让城市慢行道与绿色公共空间互相交融，成为一个柔软的、通透的、更具包容性、更具市民性的开放空间。此时的城市慢行道，既是属于城市交通的，也是融于公园空间的，而公园的边界既是公园开放空间，也是城市漫步道的柔性边界。同时城市需要这处边界有一个较强的识别性，这个识别性既是给予城市道路的，也是给予正对面的桃花岭酒店的。
After dismantling the wall to reveal green, designers break the rigid boundary between sidewalk and park, and attempt to make such boundary dim. Finally, the city sidewalk and green public space blend mutually and become a soft, transparent, more inclusive and human open space. At this time, the city sidewalk is a part of urban traffic, and blends into park space. The boundary of park is open space of park and the flexible boundary of city sidewalk. Besides, the boundary shall own strong identification for the urban roads and Taohualing Ambassador Hotel in the opposite.

02. 流动的空间 Flowing space
边界的开放不仅仅是拆除围墙，更多的是从空间上让人可以有机会快速抵达公园内部，流动的线形串联起公园内外里表的空间，让城市生活融入公园空间内部。遵从场地的本源诉求，开放出舒适的林下下沉空间，流动的空间勾勒出的曲线让场地在高差起伏间，流动的空间在大开大合间，消减了公园内外以及城市道路带来的高差，带来了快速抵达公园核心水景的花园步道，以及台地花园，活动广场等等。
The openness of boundary doesn’t simply mean that the fence is dismantled, people can arrive at inside of park quickly. The flowing line connects the internal and external space of park and integrates the city life into the internal space of park. Based on the original demands of the venue, the comfortable space below trees is opened. The curve of flowing space makes the venue present different elevation differences, while the flowing space annihilates the height difference between the inside and outside of park and the urban roads, so, the park footpath through which people can quickly arrive at the center of park, the terrace park, activity square, etc. can be designed and established.

03. 倾听大树的诉求，让树荫重回城市生活 Utilizing value of trees which brings shade to the city life
五十年的城市风雨孕育出枝繁叶茂的一片森林，里面每一棵大树都要2-3人才能环抱。可以说这些大树是这座城市发展的见证者。其余大树也同样被重新组织梳理，或成为台地树阵空间，或成为草坪上的孤植树，或成为台地上的花园空间、或成为边界的背景林。整个设计过程仿佛是与原场地交流的过程，更是倾听大树本源诉求的过程。
In the past fifty years, a leafy forest has been formed in the city, and every tree can be embraced by 2-3 persons. So to speak, these trees witness the development of this city. The rest of the trees are also reorganized and arranged as well. They may be designed as the terrace tree array space, the isolated trees on the lawn, or the park space on terrace or the background forest on the boundary. The whole design process is like the exchange process with the original venue, and even like the process of listening to the demands of trees.

于是有了这样的云集公园：柔软通透的边界、流动的空间、敞开怀抱的大树、桃花岭的对岸只见一片整洁边界的柔软草甸，给予这个贯穿了宜昌历史的酒店最大的仪式感。而流动的空间与公园内部有机的结合在一起，让这些公园一隅的参天大树带着大半个世纪的风云来到市民生活之中，为城市公共活动撑出一片独一无二的林下绿色空间。或许由此时开始，这些大树会成为市民未来生活的新的集体记忆。
The following Yunji Park generates: Soft and transparent boundary, flowing space, open trees, and a soft meadow with a neat boundary in the opposite of Taohualing Ambassador Hotel which presents the greatest sense of ritual to the centuries-old Hotel. Through organic combination between the flowing space and the inside of park, the towering trees at one corner of park integrate the history for more than half a century into the life of citizens and provide unique green space for the urban public activities. Maybe from this moment, these trees would become a new collective memory of citizens in future life.

-空间设计-Space Design
场地分为栾树花园、阶梯花园、大树聚场、拾光草坪四大空间，每个空间由树而生，以树为核，成为一个个独具记忆点的城市空间。
The venue is divided into goldenrain tree park, ladder park, tree gathering place and rest turf. Every space is rooted in and centers on trees, and becomes an urban space with unique memory.

01 栾树花园 LUANSHU GARDEN
设计保留了这片良莠不齐地长在公园边界上栾树林，并对其疏密进行了梳理，去掉了由于过密失去活力的植株，由此一来栾树林在人行道的边界天然的形成了两个组团，自然而然的成为了人行道与公园的过度空间，设计梳理着空间的动线，用流动的线形串联起场地与公园内部的空间，在迎接城市行人的视线处，设置了云集公园的LOGO。
Designers reserve those goldenrain trees with uneven height on the boundary of the park, arrange the density, and get rid of the plants which devitalize vitality due to overcrowding, so, the goldenrain trees naturally form two clusters on the boundary of sidewalk and become the transition space between sidewalk and park. Designers design and arrange the motion line of space by connecting the venue and internal space of park with the flowing line, and set the LOGO of Yunji Park at the sight line of pedestrians.

02 阶梯花园 STEPPED GARDEN
城市道路在这一段开始变陡，让公园天然的形成了阶梯空间，现状的大桂花被设计妥帖的安放在台地花坛中，仿佛自一开始他们就长在那儿，给到布置了星桥座椅的阶梯花园一片绿荫。云集二字立于通往湖边的悦氧小路之前，醒目而充满活力，迎接着城市的视线。
Urban roads start becoming steep at this section to form a natural ladder space. The current sweet-scented osmanthus is properly designed and arranged in the terrace flower bed, as if they grow there, and offers green shade to the ladder park decorated with star-bridge seat. Two characters of Yun Ji are designed in the front of the Yueyang Path toward the lakeside, is striking and full of life to meet the sight of city.

03 大树聚场 BIG TREE GATHERING FIELD
一颗胸径90公分大香樟树的根系低于场地标高1米，应当是公园从西陵公园改建为儿童公园过程中形成的独特地貌，设计打开了这棵大树的林下，让大树下的空间重新回到人们生活中，流动的曲线在此形成了一个绿色下沉空间，婆娑的树荫让这块场地充满了魅力。
Root system of a Cinnamomun camphcra with diameter at breast height of 90cm is 1m lower than the venue elevation, which is formed as a unique landscape in the reconstruction process of park from Xiling Park to Children Park. Designers open the space under the tree which gets back to the people’s life. The flowing curve forms a green sinking space, and the dancing shade makes the venue full of charmful.

04 拾光草坪 PICK UP LAWN
除去场地上的长势不佳的杂木小球，一片干净的草坪顺着云集公园的地势自然展开，承接着来自桃花岭的视线。保留的大树下采用了很轻巧的设计手法，一片依然流动的空间在此交织成了一个个林下小场地，自然闲适，令人向往。
Except for the miscellaneous tree pellets with poor growth on the venue, a clean lawn naturally extends along the terrain of Yunji Park and connects the sight from Taohualing Ambassador Hotel. The space under the reserved tree adopts very light design method, and a still flowing space here intertwines many small grounds under the tree, natural, leisurely and desirable.

-写在最后-Afterword
云集公园的更新，带来了宜昌城市居民生活方式的延续和一点点改变。每日清晨晨光还未在江边升起，就有跑步爱好者开始慢跑在这条道路上，晨练的老人在云集公园里拉开了一天的生活序幕，工作日的午后周边写字楼里的青年在绿茵草坪大树间寻找放松的间隙，遛娃家长，棋牌老人，广场舞团队，文艺老人，阅读青年，跑跳儿童，放学的学生，聚会畅谈的年轻人，不同时空下不同的人群在云集公园找到了自己的归属地。
The Yunji Park, after update, extends and changes the lifestyle of urban residents in Yichang a little. Every morning before the dawn rises from the riverside, the running enthusiasts start jogging on such road, and the elderly people of morning exercise starts the life of a day in Yunji Park. In the afternoon of working days, the young people in the surrounding office relax under the trees of green lawn. Parents playing outside with children, the elderly people playing chess, square dancing team, the elderly people engaged in literature and art work, young people reading, children running and jumping, students after school, and young people meeting and chatting, find their belonging places in the Yunji Park.
