USAD都境景观：贝聿铭于1982年设计建造的香山饭店，于1984年获得“美国建筑学会荣誉奖”。至此新中式风格兴起，自香山饭店后，90年代出现大量类似风格涉外饭店，竹辉饭店应运而生。饭店位于姑苏老城，距著名的沧浪亭仅1公里，它曾是苏州老城的地标，苏州人的骄傲。作为一张充满回忆的城市名片，老竹辉饭店是苏州第一家拥有总统套房和外籍驻唱乐队的豪华饭店，更在美食、艺术、接待方面大放光彩。曾招待过多名国内外贵宾，如新加坡国父李光耀，并在酒店内签订了合作协议。
USAD：Leoh Ming Pei designed Xiangshan Hotel in 1982 and won the AIA-Honor-Award in 1984. At this point, the Neo-Chinese style has risen. Since Xiangshan Hotel has been completed, a large number of similar styles of buildings have appeared in the 1990s. Bamboo Grove Hotel is located in Suzhou Old City, only 1 kilometer from the Pavilion of Surging Waves. It used to be a landmark of Suzhou Old Town and the pride of Suzhou people. As a city business card of Suzhou, Bamboo Grove Hotel was the first luxury hotel in Suzhou with a presidential suite and a foreign singing band. It is also glory in food, art, and reception. The hotel has received many distinguished guests , including Lee Kuan Yew, and served as a venue for signing important documents and hosting important events.

后由于酒店设施陈旧，经营不善，竞争激烈等原因，竹辉饭店日渐衰落。金普顿竹辉酒店希望尊重产地基因，延续老竹辉特色，并引领城市记忆新地标。
Due to outdated hotel facilities and fierce competition, the operation of Bamboo Grove Hotel gradually declined. Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel hopes to respect the genes of origin and continue the characteristics of the old hotel, leading to be the new landmark of urban memory.

交融 Blend
场地和其他好的度假酒店来说并没有特别好的优质资源，但享受了姑苏老城的核心地段和历史底蕴，现代与传统的碰撞，新与旧的交融。景观要做的是挖掘空间形成内部的优质资源。从而打造一个苏州新的度假旅游目的地。
Comparing with other resorts hotels, there is no particularly high-quality resource for the site. but Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel enjoyed the core area and historical heritage of Suzhou Old City. The collision between modernity and tradition, and the blend of new and old. What the landscape must do is to analyse the site space and turn the site genes to the high -quality resources, in order to create a new vacation tourist destination in Suzhou.

抵达酒店，需穿过一片繁华商业。环宇汇街区商业的建筑呼应着姑苏老城的白墙青瓦，经典的苏州园林元素和现代的金属玻璃等材料相互衬托，对话传统也体现当代。
When you arrive at the hotel, you need to pass through a bustling commercial street. The buildings of UNI ELITE commercial District echoed the white walls of Suzhou. The classic Suzhou garden elements and modern metal glass and other materials set off each other, dialoguing tradition and reflecting contemporary.

商业街的招商和酒店需求做了整合，网红轻餐、咖啡，小众艺术品牌及服饰。夜晚各种特色酒吧、烧烤丰富了酒店客人的夜晚生活体验。
The UNI ELITE integrated the commercial street investment and hotel needs, Introducing Internet celebrity restaurants, cafes, niche art brands and clothing. All kinds of special bars and barbecue have enriched the night life experience of hotel guests.

景观要做的是打好商业基底。引导人流、界定经过空间与停留空间、外摆空间、活动策展空间等。
What the landscape must do is to make a good commercial base, guiding the flow of people, defining the passing space , staying space, dining space and the activity space.
▽导视系统 Guidance system
穿过中轴榉树大道来到酒店入口。入口以细竹掩映，呼应紫竹生辉之主题。
Cross the middle axis avenue to the hotel, the entrance is covered with bamboo, echoing the theme of Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel.

涟漪 Ripple
酒店落客区位于基地中心腹地，呈四水归堂的空间形态。景观借用自然界中水的涟漪现象，仿佛一滴水滴落、扩散、播下生命的种子。营造静谧的空间氛围，形成以生命之树为中心的涟漪。让酒店入口更加聚焦。同时也引导车辆落客行驶的方向。希望用生命之树（四季常青的丛生香樟），见证新老竹辉的交替与日后新的绽放。
The hotel drop-off area is located in the center of the site, and the spatial form is the enclosed traditional Chinese courtyards. The landscape designer use the concept of water ripples. The entrance space seems to be a drop of water, spreading, and sowing the seeds of life, which creates a quiet space atmosphere and forms a ripple centered on the tree of life. The design of the ripple pattern makes the entrance of the hotel more focused, and it also guides the vehicle’s driving flow. The designer hopes to use the tree of life (the evergreen camphor) to witness the alternation of the new and old hotel and the new bloom in the future.

光影 Light and shadow
落客区东西两侧原规划实体景墙围合，景观建议序列感镂空设计，和内部连廊产生光影变化
The east and west sides of the drop-off area was planned to be surrounding by the solid wall . the landscape designer recommended to use the sequence hollow wall, in order to generate light and shadow changes through the internal corridor.

视线 Sight view
视线穿过两侧的序列镂空格珊，两侧水院若隐若现，形成朦胧之感。也让两侧的空间更具流动性。
The sight passes through the sequence hollow grills on both sides, and the water courtyard on both sides forms a sense of hazy. It also makes the space on both sides more permeable.

将江南水乡的气质融入酒店，水系贯穿其中，提升度假酒店客房溢价，让内部形成优质景观资源。其中最具特色的是原拆原建的特色古亭，脚下假山也是利用老竹辉的太湖石打造而成。水中步道下沉处理，形成两侧叠水夹道，从客房视角又巧妙的隐于水中，视线感受不到人行步道的存在。
Design integrates the temperament of Jiangnan style into the hotel. The water system designed to be the high-quality landscape resources ，which could increase the premium for vacation hotel rooms.The most distinctive feature of the hotel is the original ancient pavilion. The rockery is also made of the dismantle the remaining Taihu stones from the old hotel.The sinking trail in the central water garden forms a water flowing landscape feeling. From the perspective of the guest room, the pedestrian trail is cleverly hidden in the water.
