The project is located on Canada’s Candy Beach in Toronto, changing from the parking lot in the old district to an imaginative modern waterfront playground, designed by Claude Cormier + Associés. The all waterfront park project consists of three parts: a city beach, a plaza space, and a tree-lined promenade. The promenade slanted through the park and has Canadian-marked maple leaves on the ground. The 8500m2 plaza is the first public space in the waterfront park, and visitors can see it as they travel along the Queen’s boat. The gorgeous pink beach umbrellas and the striped candy-like rocks in the park are like welcoming visitors.

An urban beach near the Redpath sugar refinery is the second beach created by Claude Cormier and Associates to be added to the large network of beaches in Toronto. The concept of sugar that guided the details of composition – umbrellas bursting with rose, ventilation pipes transformed into candy canes, colored strips suttering rock outcrops in the manner of confectionery, sand whose color is reminiscent of raw sugar – s’ Inspired by the industrial heritage of the place and more precisely by its neighbor, the candy that dyes the air with sweet spray. This industrial character combined with the omnipresent horizon of Lake Ontario is reminiscent of Georges Seurat (1884). Adjoining Lake Ontario and the urban skyline, the development consists of hummocks and rocks creating intimate spaces and elevated observation posts, as well as larger spaces for programmed and unplanned events. represents Toronto’s emerging emerging landscape identity, where beaches, rocks, trees and playfulness contribute to making an industrial site a new recreational destination.
